German carmaker BMW is currently planning and preparing to launch a wide range of new models, especially with the upcoming 2017 Paris Motor Show, opening its gates starting with 25th of November.

While we have heard great news of the upcoming X4 and X4 M, there haven’t been any fresh details on the new X5. And even if we all thought the new model would be left aside, thanks to recent reports, we now have some details concerning the petrol engine lineup that the 2019 BMW X5 is supposed to comprise in the United States alone.

The model is set to arrive in the second quarter of 2019 and will stand on the company`s new and most advanced CLAR architecture, which comprises new and more lightweight materials, meaning increased performance, bigger space inside and lower fuel consumption. The X5 will also share plenty of mechanical characteristics with its bigger siblings, the X6 and the newly launched BMW X7.

Besides the shared CLAR architecture and technology suite, the BMW X5 SUV will stand out from the crows with a new petrol engine lineup, available in the sDrive40i, xDrive40i and xDrive50i variants.

Starting with the X5 40i, the entry-level variant will comprise a 3.0-liter straight six B58 engine, with 335 horsepower in the standard shape. The M Performance variant will add around 15 horsepower more. The rest of the lineup will be equipped with an N63 4.4-liter V8 mill, a completely new engine with 465 horsepower, which is way too impressive than today`s M550i model.

According to the same reports, BMW has also leaked out some of the engines that will equip the 2019 BMW X5 outside the US market, be it petrol burners or diesels. The entry-level xDrive30d for instance will come with a B57 engine with 265 horsepower, while the xDrive40d will churn out 320 horsepower. On the other hand, the top of the line M50d will feature a new B57S quad-turbo engine with 400 horsepower.

BMW has done it all to give the 7-Series the best options and performances, after more than 40 years of its existence on the market. But there is just one particular thing that the 7-Series didn’t receive, but will, in the next future.

I am referring to a special diesel edition that the luxury car manufacturer is preparing for the US market. It concerns the new yet unveiled 740LdxDrive, to mark its diesel existence at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, before heading toe sales on spring.

The 2014 BMW 7-Series will be offered on long-wheelbase with standard all-wheel drive, being powered by a 3.0-liter inline six engine, developing 255 horsepower and a roughly 413 pound-feet of torque.

The diesel model is said to a have a diesel technology for a better fuel economy, stating an improved 25 to 30 percent over its gas version. That means that the 740LdxDrive would get 24.7 miles per gallon in the city and 36.6 miles per gallon on the highway.

In contrast with the gas model, the diesel 7-Series will come with a higher price, meaning that the Americans will pay $82,500, without the destination fee of around $925.

Due to rather stringent emissions regulations and partly to lack of interest from the US audience, diesels aren’t making it into small cars over there.

Even for BMW, the engine company, the one that makes some of the most incredible oil burners out there, the ability to sell them in the US is limited.

Currently, there’s the X5 diesel option as the only one out there since the E90 335i is no longer available as a new purchase.

The future does hold a few good news for fuel efficiency aficionados as BMW is very interested in bringing more diesel powered vehicles to the US.

An image from a presentation inside the company leaked online and that’s how we’ve been able to find out that the Bavarians are preparing two engines for sale with six of their models.

The twin-turbocharged six cylinder N57 engine will live on, with just about all models having it as an option. The smaller sized vehicles will also get the N47’s variations to have fun with.

That means that your fuel will be burned through a 2.0 liter force fed four cylinder engine that can develop up to around 250 horsepower.

Meanwhile, the 3.0 liter option develops around 300 horsepower and considerably more torque alongside more refined delivery.

Whereas the US still won’t get the M Performance high end diesels, they are still getting a product which is rated by many reviewers as the best of its breed.

It will be available in the F30 3 Series, the F31 3 Series Touring, the F10 5 Series, the E70 X5 and the F01 7 Series.

With the 2.0 liter option, we expect to see the 3 Series, 5 Series and X3 crossover as they can still move quite swiftly with such an engine.

Got the salt? How about the pepper? Great, here’s what’s going on, BMW admit to moving a vast amount of cars around the world.

Well, it’s not the literal version, there’s nothing illegal to talk about and the news itself isn’t that big. The trigger is what made thins blow up.

BMW Group board member and sales and marketing director, Ian Robertson made the announcement during a company event in Munich earlier this week.

For a company that’s constantly at the top of the luxury sales pack decisions like these matter and it can be very relevant as to what’s happening in Europe.

Robetson claimed that “challenges in Europe are getting greater” and that while the market has potential, it will be a few years before things even out.

While that is happening the Bavarians have to adapt to the situation and make faster deliveries in markets where the demand really exists.

At the moment these markets are in the United States and the Chinese market. ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association has figures to confirm the downside BMW is on about.

Just last month, 10.8 percent less than in the same month last year with major markets like the one in Germany, one of the strongest around being down by 10.9%.

Meanwhile the places like France are down by 17.9%, Italy by 25.7% and Spain by a whopping 36.8%. This isn’t new since the entire market is down by 7.6 per cent relative to the first nine months of 2011.

So how many cars did they shift around? No precise figure was given but a pointer of “tens of thousands” can be quite relevant.

Life in the luxury car market sales isn’t the most certain thing out there these days. After a while of domination from Lexus, BMW took over and the battle is once again heating up.

Last month’s results saw our favorite Bavarian brand struggle and this one isn’t looking up either. The majority of hope lies on the 3 Series.

The F30 3 Series is one of the largest volume cars BMW makes and still it has its work cut out. Not only that, the car itself isn’t the main attraction.

The company’s analysts say that the most important selling point of the 3 Series is the newly available xDrive four wheel drive option.

It’s interesting to note that the major rivalries here are over the US market and that the main competitors are actually two other German companies.

Obviously, there’s still some of the European and Asian markets to consider. Trouble is, both these markets have seen better days.

Whereas Europe is dealing with a financial crisis the likes of which we rarely see, China’s problem is on a different field.

A lot of civil unrest is going on as the economy is shaking and the automotive market is seriously shaken up by the entire thing.

This is a major problem for just about everybody but especially for the Japanese car makers. Meanwhile in the USA, dealers are having a nicer time.

It seems that the most capable fight in the segment of the F30 BMW 3 Series xDrive is going to be the Mercedes C Class. Unusual since Audi is actually the runner up these days.

And as another month kicks off, the previously ended one will be coming out with its sales results. For the Bavarians we love so much things are split.

On the one hand, the BMW brand declined its sales last month but on the other the BMW Group did quite alright. In fact, the Mini brand actually had it’s best August month ever.

Obviously, the US market is where the battle is at its fiercest level. Unfortunately, that’s where Lexus is making a comeback.

Apart from the Japanese company’s comeback, BMW’s sales are down because in recent months the figures have been going up so much that there have been some stock keeping issues.

When the books were closed 16.835 BMW vehicles were sold in August, which is a significant drop from the 20.815 units sold in August 2011.

The 19 percent shortage was felt but the Bavarians are not put off. They claim they will be back for this month with more sales.

Apparently, the F30 3 Series stock problems will soon be sorted out and dealers will have plenty of compact executive sedans to sell.

On the brighter side, Mini sales for August were through the roof. The compact specializing British brand registered a jump of 83.9 percent.

That brought the total for them to 5.718 units sold and also affected the year to date growth by 15.9 percent.

With Rolls Royce sales kind of neither here nor there, the BMW Group’s US sales went down for August. The decrease was of 5.7 percent overall.

America’s lack of interest in the fuel saving solution that is the diesel engine has been long discussed and over-debated for several years now.

There have been plenty of attempts, at the forefront of which BMW have been of major importance, to showcase the capabilities and performance diesel is capable.

Unfortunately, they’ve all pretty much failed. It may be for a number of reasons but as gas prices keep going up, diesels are making a comeback.

Since the US is finally finding out what rising fuel costs are, they’re taking a liking to diesels in increasing numbers.

While we’re on the subject, it’s not exactly a secret that BMW, makers of some of the greatest engines out there, also make the finest diesels available.

Two of their cherries are headed stateside now. It’s the 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and the more interesting 3.0 liter straight six unit.

The first one will likely develop around 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque whereas the bigger engine will provide around 255 horsepower and some 413 lb-ft of torque.

Figures may be altered slightly by the time they hit the road in America as the emissions legislation there plays on different fields to the ones BMW is used to.

Even so, the economy minded motorist is in for a treat, even if he lives in the United States. Their highway system should make for quite a difference when it comes to settling into the cruise.

The new engines should be available in the 3 series, 5 series and X5/X6 models to begin with and there’s a chance at expanding its options later on.

Good news for the United States. There’s plenty of added interest in the boosting the luxury market and as competition heats up more and more interesting cars will be headed for them.

Though all the Germans are going to hit their market with a vengeance, the Bavarians are the ones we’re interested in and we reckon they’re going to offer the most exciting stuff.

Dear Americans, the entire BMW M Performance lineup is on its way to your market with the first model to be there being a new one.

Well, more or less, since the 2 Series is actually going to be a coupe version of the already familiar BMW 1 series.

In order to make the deal sweeter for the Americans, the big engined version is going to helm the new attack. The M235i is powered by a turbocharged 3.0 liter six cylinder.

With the European version of that engine produces 320 horsepower and is capable of a maximum torque figure of 332 lb-ft.

Typical BMW smoothness is still there and the performance is just sublime when teamed to such a light and chuckable car.

Naturally, all the hardcore enthusiasts are looking forward to BMW once again going one up on their cars and creating a 2 Series M Coupe in the near future.

Frankly, that’s just an unsubstantiated rumor and great though it may sound it’s not very likely right now. If the M235i is scheduled for 2014, that follow-up 2 Series M Coupe wouldn’t turn up for another two-three years.

BMW’s market success has a lot to do with the quality of the products they make but you really can’t know off their marketing department for doing a great job.

After all, few brands can brag about having as much of a market value as the blue and white roundel and a whole lot fewer brands can say show off these kinds of sales.

Summing all this stuff out sounds like a boring powerpoint presentation designed for black and gray business men. Which it is.

Thankfully, BMW know that we’d much rather stick to rather simpler ways of communicating so they’ve unveiled a new video for their X1 crossover.

We don’t really thrive on phrases like “year on year”, “similar period”, “growth” or anything like that. We do like the way BMW X1 “in action” sounds:

As you can see, the video was published by BMW USA and there are some major figures of this establishment featured. The point of the video rather hangs on getting US customers excited about the idea.

Over the Atlantic, the BMW X1 is going to be available starting next month in two kinds of engines and two options for the drivetrain.

You can have the 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine with rear or all wheel drive or the 3.0 liter turbocharged inline six with xDrive only.

The pricing for the newly unveiled crossover will start at somwhere around $31,545 for the 28i versions and some $39.345 for the xDrive35i.

Americans love buying their cars off the lot. Go in, pay up, get a new car, drive away, that’s pretty much their idea of buying a car.

BMW is trying to change that and encourages ordering cars. As part of this idea, the Bavarian’s US division has just introduced an online configurator for one of the most desirable models in their lineup.

That’ll be the F10 BMW M5 or, as it’s known over the Atlantic, the 2013 BMW M5.

The configurator features nothing special compared to the “regular” 5 Series in its construction, the content however is considerably different.

Apart from the M5 being the only car you can spec up, the list to do so is quite the considerable one. Jacking up the price well beyond the 89.900 USD is very easily jacked up.

Before you even get to adding some goodies there’s the 890 destination charge and a yet to be determined gas guzzler tax which should fall somewhere between 1000 and 2000 USD.

Once you get down to the business of actually selecting colors, toys, performance and safety equipment, you might find yourself (like me) staring down the barrel of a $121.295 shot.

There’s simply no option in the package that one wouldn’t find tempting but the one I really earn for the most is actually a no cost one.

I’m talking about something that’s not available in Europe (or anywhere else outside the US for that matter), the six speed manual transmission.
