BMW`s most astonishing model 8-Series, yet to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next March, has been tipped off for production in 2018, with the model to be built at the company`s facility in Dongolfing, Germany.

According to a recent report issued by Auto News, the new BMW 8-Series will arrive next year with the company`s new design language and brand-new, high-tech interior, also to be implemented on other new models.

We are looking here at the direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabrio, an exclusive car with the most advanced technologies and an evolutionary design.

Speaking of new design language, the future 8-Series will come with “a new look”, with new elements borrowed from the 8-Series concept revealed at the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este some time ago.

According to Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW`s Senior Vice President of Design, these new design elements refer to the concept`s grille and Hofmeister kink, adding as well trapezoidal exhaust tips which will enhance the car`s aggressive look.

The company`s new design philosophy will not be limited to the exterior, van Hooydonk also stating that the interior will come with the latest iDrive infotainment system, improved dashboard and high-end materials on the seats, dash, and other interior surfaces.

Performance wise, the all-new 8-Series Coupe and Cabrio will come with a wide range of engines under the hood, like a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder mill, or a 6.6-liter V12 from BMW`s new M760Li xDrive. Additionally, BMW is also likely to offer M8`s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with no less than 600 horsepower.

As aforementioned, the all-new BMW 8-Series Coupe will be released on the European and US markets next year, with the Cabriolet variant to arrive in 2019, according to the same report from Auto News. As for both models` success, they will definitely become a benchmark in terms of technology and evolutionary design language.

The increasingly high-demand on the luxury segment has forced BMW German carmaker into taking some drastic changes concerning its high-end models. And we know that the company has already planned some interesting modifications on that matter.

According to recent rumors and reports, the current 6-Series will loose its identity and will sacrifice itself in order to make room for the upcoming and long-rumored BMW 8-Series, while the 5-Series GT will shape up the personality of the future 6-Series GT.

Once arriving on the market and seen here in a fresh spy video while playing in the Arctic Snow – only the 8-Series Coupe and Convertible – both models will confirm the company`s new philosophy of building bigger, strong, much reliable and faster models, all luxurious as they can be in their final forms.

Currently, both models were put to hard testing in Sweden, which has become the carmaker`s playing ground for the last couple of years. Seen here are only the future BMW 8-Series Coupe and Convertible, both models being put to the extreme tests, which are once more the real proof that BMW is planning to build the perfect models to operate in all harsh weather conditions.

The camouflage around the body is also a clear indication that, compared to the present 6-Series, both models will come with advanced aerodynamics, state of the art technology, improved mechanics and the latest powertrains.

Once arriving on the market, the 840i and 840d base models will come with a wide range of six-cylinder engines, while the top of the line 850i version will be offered with a V8 engine, capable of around 450 horsepower. As expected, the range will also spawn a high-performance M860i model, with a V12 biturbo engine, shortly followed by an M8, as also previously rumored, hitting the market somewhere in 2019.

The BMW 8-Series is coming, and is coming in style, as the spied photos released by bimmertoday below suggest. No more renderings, previews and rumors, the test mule is here in flash, revealing its body styling in full, even if it is all covered in camouflage.

Just as expected, the 2018 BMW 8-Series will be a gorgeous and luxurious two-door coupe, longer than always and extremely aggressive. And the luxurious lines are highlighted by the car`s high-class roofline, Hoffmeister Kink, new rear roofline as well as the greenhouse.

However, the real identity of the model is well-concealed, so we have to be quite reserve about the upcoming design, without getting too excited about it. After all, we could be disappointed at a certain moment about the real styling.

No matter how it will look, it will look beautiful, aggressive and ready to make a good impression; perhaps the best impression after the unveiling of the 2018 X2 Concept, another piece of German engineering. Elegance is also an attribute well-earned after decades of engineering.

In the engine department and judging from the test mules` nameplates, we could see a whole range of versions, like the 825, 830, 845 and so forth until the unveiling of a much more potent M850 and top of the line M8. The 850i is expected to come with a 4.0-liter V8 turbo mill with either a four- or a six-cylinder engine.

On the other hand, the future M8 would come with more than 600 horsepower onboard, all squeezed from a new 4.0-liter V8 engine. With the new power, the M8 would be capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds.

The BMW 8-Series is popping up in our news again, after the high-end model was also rumored online to spawn a much more potent M8 version, making it thus the most powerful in its class.

Now we have a fresh batch of renderings signed by L`Autombile, which is showcasing the 8-Series wearing a two-door coupe and a convertible body styling and the same aggressive design we have been accustomed with ever since the first renderings were launched about six months ago.

The future 8-Series is also envisioned here with a much sportier attitude, accentuated by the long hood, short overhangs, sloping roofline, Hoffmeister Kink and other new styling bits that can also be found on the present 7-Series.

As we already know, BMW is planning the arrival of the 8-Series in the shape of a coupe. Once it will emerge on the market in a couple of years, the all-new model will stand on the same UKL platform, also underpinning the likes from 5- and the 7-Series, meaning lightweight materials for high-performance and increase driving dynamics. The 8-Series will also borrow most of the engines found on the 7-Series, adding some impressive power boost.

On the other hand, the future M8 would come with more than 600 horsepower onboard, all squeezed from a new 4.0-liter V8 engine. With the new power, the M8 would be capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds.

Rumors with an upcoming BMW 8-Series – reportedly the most luxurious two-door ever built – are not knew, with the carmaker also confirming the arrival of such a high-end model. And the spy photos with a two-door body style BMW has created quite a stir concerning its future naming.

Some from the media – including the folks who have provided the images – claim that this would be the future 6-Series Coupe, while others sustain that the test mule in question is actually the upcoming 8-Series which replaces the present 6-Series Coupe.

No matter how we put it, this is a clear fact that we are dealing here with a GT test mule, and that judging by the way it looks, with the wide and more prominent aero kit, more slopping roofline, which kinda separates it from the 6-Series Coupe thus bringing closer to the future 8-Series.

Even so, there aren`t any clear facts that this would also be the new 8 Series, especially since the test mule`s design as a GT might leave plenty of room for a smaller displacement, perhaps a smaller future 6-Series Grand Coupe. Still confused on that matter, we still hope that BMW will soon release the first details of this test mule seen in the media gallery below.

From what we know so far from recent reports, when it will arrive, the future BMW 8-Series would underpin the same lightweight platform as the current 2017 7-Series, meaning carbon fiber and aluminum composites, which will make it more lightweight and making room for a wide array of engines.

Speaking about performance, the new 8-Series is said to borrow the powertrain lineup from the 7-Series, adding new diesels as well as a top of the line 850i, which will equip the new high-performance 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Now that BMW has officially declared the rebirth of the 8-Series by 2020, the carmaker has already hinted at the idea of releasing an M8 model, which will join the rest of the M lineup.

This would be of no surprise, as this is actually what happened to any model within the Series lineup. The 2-Series now has the M2 Coupe, while the 3-Series can brag with the birth of the M3. It was just a matter of time until we would see the M8 in the first renderings as well.

As expected, the upcoming BMW M8 would underpin the same platform seen on the company`s latest models, with reference to the CLAR platform, the same one used on the new 3-, 4-, or 5-Series and the already present 7-Series model.

This automatically means that the platform will be extremely lightweight, thanks to the use of aluminum, magnesium, carbon fiber and high-strength steel, all contributing to the car`s performance and advanced driving capabilities.

In terms of performance, the future M8 would come with more than 600 horsepower onboard, all squeezed from a new 4.0-liter V8 engine. With the new power, the M8 would be capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds.

BMW carmaker has big plans with its entire model range, planning big changes with the big league. It will slot the future and more potent BMW X7, being also reported to release a more luxurious BMW 8-Series in a couple of years, which would replace the 6-Series until a new generation will arrive.

The upcoming of the future BMW 8-Series is not new, the test mule already being spied in photos and reviewed in different reports.

The latest reports state that the all-new BMW 8-Series will be based on the 7-Series, and will come with a two- and a four-door body styling, along with their convertible versions, riding on the same CLAR platform, also underpinning the 7-Series and other high-end models. Also, it will become the official replacement of the 6-Series, at least until the new-generation model would emerge in 2019.

The BMW 8-Series` CLAR platform will boast with carbon fiber and aluminum composites, making it much lighter and making the cabin`s interior much more wider than the current 7-Series.

In the engine department, the all-new 8-Series is also likely to borrow the powertrain lineup from the 7-Series, adding base diesels as well as a top of the line 850i with the company`s high-performance 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Once it will emerge on the market, the BMW 8-Series will become the direct rival of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Convertible.

The rumor mill with an all-new BMW 8-Series is not new, the model being already showcased in different renderings.

The latest one is envisioning the model with an extremely futuristic and aggressive design, with styling cues taken from BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe or the Vision Future Luxury Concept.

According to latest reports, the BMW 8-Series is expected to come with two styling versions, a coupe and convertible, both highlighting the most luxurious styling cues and impressive performance under the hood, enough to become the main competitors of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Maybach and S-Class Coupe.

As we can depict from the rendering, the BMW 8-Series might feature a sleeker design highlighted by a slopping roofline, along with a prominent and aggressive front and rear-end, all being part of an extremely luxurious overall design. Other important features might also include organic and laser lights.

As aforementioned, the new BMW 8-Series might borrow the hot design lines from the Vision Future Luxury Concept, adding the latest technology in terms of driving dynamics and autonomous driving and so forth.

Also, the future BMW 8-Series is believed to underpin the same lightweight platform as the present 2016 BMW 7-Series, meaning carbon fiber and aluminum composites that would make it extremely light and improve its driving capabilities.

BMW is trying to achieve perfection with the long-rumored 8-Series, which is said to be the most technologically advanced vehicle from its segment.

We have had the pleasure of seeing the future 8-Series through a lot of renderings, which showcased the model quite close to the 7-Series or the Gran Lusso Concept. The latest renderings signed by Giom Image Art are also foreseeing the concept with some styling cues taken from the 6-Series Gran Coupe.

As we can depict from the renderings, the BMW 8-Series Concept is based on the 6-Series chassis, but is 100 mm lower, coming with the classic lines, highlighted by “the 70’ shark nose design” at the front kidney grille. The rear end adopts a rounder styling which has nothing to do with the classic 8-Series.

Giom Mouton, the rendering designer of the BMW 8-Series says that “it is not difficult to come up with beautiful BMW designs since the inherent BMW DNA is already close to perfect. Especially when it comes to large coupes. The focus is on proportions. You get those right and the rest simply falls into place.”

Rumors have it that the carmaker is also planning a 9-Series, based on the next-gen Rolls-Royce Phantom, with an engine lineup comprising the 3.0-liter petrol and diesel engines, along with a 4.4-liter V8 turbocharged, and a hybrid version.

The all-new BMW 8-Series is back into the spotlights, the model being launched in two renderings signed by rendering artist Theophilus Chin.

The two renderings are showcasing a future 8-Series Coupe and are based on the Gran Luso Coupe concept, the model looking hot with its aggressive design. We might be looking here at a genuine luxury cruiser, which will take on the three-pointed star Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.

However, the carmaker has not announced its intention of launching an 8-Series, but if it eventually decides to do it, it will look hot with these body features rendered here.

It would be great seeing the new-gen BMW 8-Series with such a distinctive front fascia or the rectangular exhaust pipes at the rear. Apart the new body features, the 8-Series comes with the same familiar BMW taillights and kidney grille with chrome accents.

Other features include the LED technology headlights, incorporated daytime running lights, fog lamps in the front bumper, or the sloping roofline.

From my own perspective, I think that BMW would do a nice job with such a model, especially since it does not have a suitable competitor for the S-Class Coupe. In case it will come on the market, it will definitely stand above the 7-Series.
