Besides Hamann or Manhart, AC Schnitzer is another famous German tuning firm that deals with BMW customizations, both at the exterior and interior, as well as under the hood.

While some BMW models have received impressive performance packages underneath their skins, other have been customized with amazing new visual characteristics which change their looks for good. It is also the case of the second-generation BMW X4 seen below, which has been wrapped with some new cool stuffs.

What makes this particular project unique is the subtle changes, the model receiving a handful of new visual tweaks, thus not spoiling its factory look. However, for those with a sharp eye, the mods are there and discretely change its personality, making it more intimidating and imposing.

Starting with the front, the aftermarket engineers have added a two-part spoiler lip which sits right under the bumper and provides a sportier look. Moving to the rear, there is also a new set of tailpipes, sport catalysts and bespoke downpipes.

These changes also come hand-in-hand with a new suspension system, perfectly adapted to fit the new wheels, which come with a choice of 19 or 20 inches. They wear the company`s signature and come in anthracite or bi-colour finish.

The exterior is complemented inside, with the cabin also receiving some minor tweaks, some of them being announced in the article, and other on their way soon. We are dealing here with new key holders, sport pedals, as well as a new i-drive system touch controller.

Following the official debut of the all-new 2019 BMW X4 at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the Bavarian carmakers has also announced the arrival of its hardcore version – the M40i M Performance – tweaked with a much more muscular aero kit, plenty of M goodies inside and impressive performance underneath the skin.

The model will also be previewed at the 2018 New York Auto Show (March 30th – April 9th), and introduced in the United States this summer. Prices will start at $60,450, without the $950 destination and handling fee.

The M Performance package adds a fresh feel and look, both at the exterior as well as inside the cabin, which perhaps makes it one of the finest and most attractive SAC model on the market.

The 2019 BMW X4 M40i M Performance stands out from the crowd with a muscular aero kit, specific to all M models, and which increases the car`s aerodynamics and improves performance characteristics.

There are also the wide tracks, sports suspension system or M brakes, all contributing to improved handling and driving capabilities. The lowered center of gravity also offers an astonishing driving experience and adrenaline rush at high speeds in tight corners.

Inside, the sport yet luxurious feel is provided by the M Performance tweaks. We are dealing here with exclusive leather upholstery with carbon fiber inserts, sports pedals and sports steering wheel, or thre-zone air conditioning which is a premiere for an X model.

As for performance under the hood, the 2019 BMW X4 M40i M features the carmaker`s famous inline six-cylinder engine, good for 355 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

Following recent spy photos with the new 2019 BMW X4 SUV while undergoing tests near Spartanburg factory, the German based carmaker has already taken the upcoming X4 M out for a spin, putting the final pieces before its official launch at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show (presuming).

Just like the standard X4, the M hardcore variant comes with the same design language, yet adding some M tweaks that makes it more aggressive and standout.

The M signature is present on the much more aggressive bumpers and rear lip spoiler, adding as well wider air inlets for better air flow, quad exhaust tips for a wilder engine soundtrack, and of course, the M wider alloy wheels.

Just like other new SUV models, the future 2019 BMW X4 M also stands on the company`s new CLAR architecture, meaning that it sheds off around 60 kg, thanks to the additional of lightweight materials. This also leads to increase performance and better fuel consumption.

Performance wise, the all-new 2018 BMW X4 M makes use of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine, also known as S58, and believed to churn out around 450 horsepower. And if BMW doesn’t find a away to increase the SUV`s power and torque, it won`t be a match for its direct competitor, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, which is definitely way too powerful.

On the other hand, the standard 2019 BMW X4 SUV is powered by a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, including the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 365 PS and 500 Nm of torque, or the 2.0-liter flat-four with 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. A 3.0-liter six mill with 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque will also join the diesel club.

Following a series of spy shots a couple of days ago, the all-new 2019 BMW X4 is back into the spotlights in a new batch of photos released by CarScoops magazine, just outside the company`s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The new spy photos reveal a completely new X4 crossover, now more massive and more aggressive, thanks to the redesigned body style.

We already know that the carmaker`s new philosophy is building bigger and bigger models, and the 2019 X4 is no exception. It stands on the new CLAR architecture, also underpinning other high-end models like the upcoming X3, which means more lightweight materials that would shed off significant weight – 121 lbs in the case of the X4.

Visually, the model is enhanced with horizontal LED lights, a more aggressive front bumper with wider air intakes which now come with metallic accents. Other features up front also refer to the revised grille and modern headlights.

At the rear, the new X4 features slimmer taillights and sportier roofline. The entire design is complemented by the new wheels, much wider and providing better stance and grip.

Inside, even if there aren`t any spy photos to reveal the details, we should be able to find the same high-tech gizmos also implemented on the new X3 or 5-Series. Future info will be released at a later date.

Under the hood, the 2019 BMW X4 is likely to carry over the same lineup from the X3, including a wide range of petrol burners and diesels. We should mention here the petrol 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 260 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, or the 2.0-liter flat-four diesel with 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. According to the carmaker, a top of the line X4 M with 400 horsepower is also set to arrive later on.

BMW is putting its latest models to hard work on the track, and one of them has been recently spotted performing some tests, having its predecessor behind it. And this is the best way to see how much BMW models have evolved from one generation to another.

The prototype in question is no other than the all-new 2018 BMW X4, the M40i to be exact, judging by the more prominent and aggressive front and rear ends. Besides it, stands the previous model, visibly smaller and less appealing.

We have heard before about the future X4, with the M division also coming with improved and more aggressive design lines. Speaking of which, the new M40i will be wider thanks to the longer wheelbase and more prominent lines.

The model is set to arrive with new front fascia with larger grille and headlights, and we can see those new details in the photo comparison with the previous model. The M40i however, will also add much sportier front bumper with blue brake calipers, or bespoke exhaust system.

As expected, the 2018 BMW X4 will stand on the company`s new platform, also underpinning other models within the group. This will allow for a wide choice of engines, including the 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo flat-four engine with 249 horses and 349 Nm of torque. As for the X4 M40i, this one will still carry out the previous 3.0-liter six-flat with 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Rumors also have it that the top of the line would receive a new power configuration as well – 400 horsepower – which is quite impressive. Stay tuned!

The BMW X4 xDrive 35i is an extremely powerful SUV, coming with plenty of styling bits form the M Performance Parts and sheer performance under the hood.

The SUV was seen in lot of upgrade packages and plenty of drag races against other top predators on the market like the Porsche Macan GTS.

Now, we have the pleasure of seeing it for an official display at BMW`s most famous dealership in Abu Dhabi, while wearing an aero package from AD Motorsport tuning company.

In the engine department, the stock BMW X4 xDrive 35i packs a 3.0-liter straight-six turbo engine, with 300 horsepower and 343 lb-of torque, which is just enough to allow a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. More than that, the car`s performance is also given by different mechanical bits, including increased camber on the front axle, higher-performance springs and stabilizers or adaptive dampers with M Performance requirements.

However, this one seen here is coming with the M Sport Package with a 3D Design carbon fiber aero package, which also means that it packs higher power and torque. Unfortunately, at this point, there aren`t any details on that matter.

But we do have the list with the SUV`s new parts at the exterior. The aftermarket technicians from AD Motorsport tuning company have added the M sport front and rear bumpers, along with bespoke carbon fiber spoilers and diffusers, side skirts and side sills, and carbon fiber mirror caps. Other features also include the Sophisto Grey exterior colour or the M Performance black kidney grille.

The rear end is also highlighted by the M Performance Exhaust System, with the entire aero package to be complemented with the 21-inch M Performance alloy wheels.

BMW has released the latest details with its M Performance model fleet at the 2016 SEMA Show, the carmaker also detailing the fully tweaked cars with lots of impressive videos and reviews.

However, as expected, the German-based carmaker seems to take things to a whole new level with the M fleet, releasing another promotional which highlights the amazing characteristics that all M models are coming with.

Forget about the stock M2, M3/M4 or even the M5, as there are other high-end models from the X lineup or the special Series fleet that get the same appreciation in terms of high-end features and mechanics.

In the video below, called “M Performance Automobiles. Intensified Driving Pleasure,” the carmaker is highlighting the special features that models like the X4 M40, X6 M50d or the M760Li xDrive are coming with.

The latter one, the high-end M760Li xDrive is also showcased with its massive 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, boasting with impressive 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, and being called a real “masterpiece”. This would allow a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mind-blowing 3.9 seconds.

As a reminder, BMW presented an interesting fleet of models injected with M Performance Parts at the 2016 SEMA Show, with the most highlights revolving around the BMW M3 and M4, both models coming with carbon aero kits and exquisite features inside the cabin.

Besides the M3/M4, there were also other models highlighted, such as the 340i and the 440i from the 3- and 4-Series, respectively, both versions getting the M Performance Package with plethora of M goodies. Finally, the lineup closes up with the F10 5 Series Sedan, followed by the X5 and X6, and the 740e xDrive with an extremely luxurious interior and gorgeous exterior design.

Brazil is one BMW`s largest production line in the world, with six high-end models to be produced locally, at Araquari plant, in Santa Catarina. Thus, every year, thousands of models are distributed throughout the entire North and South America.

The BMW X4 is one those models manufactured in Santa Catarina, being part of the company`s $288 million investment plan.

BMW is building the X4 xDrive28i X Line, the version being priced at $93,850 and is equipped with the latest technology inside, while under the hood, it comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four petrol engine, with 245 horsepower.

Carsten Stocker, local executive at BMW, stated that “The arrival of the bMW X4 to the Araquari production line is the result of our commitment to global quality standards of the BMW Group and are fully in line with the group`s factories in the United States, Egypt, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia, countries where the SAV is also produced.”

The carmaker`s decision of building the BMW X4 xDrive28i X Line in Brazil would be very beneficial for the entire area, since the new assembly line has made room for more than 1.5 million square meters and a capacity of assembling up to 32,000 cars each year. Let`s not forget that the carmaker is also expecting to sell around 45 vehicles each month in order to achieve an annual increase of more than 50 percent.

Sport Auto magazine has recently released a video which puts together the acceleration of two powerful SUVs: the BMW X4 M40i and the Porsche Macan GTS, two top predators that come with rather the same performance.

But before we get to watch the video together, let`s compare both SUVs from a performance perspective.

First off, the BMW X4 M40i is the top of the line in its class, coming fully tweaked with the M Performance Parts. This is really important, as the SUV received the same “M” treatment under the hood as well.

We are looking here at a 3.0-liter straight-six turbo engine, with 355 horsepower and 343 lb-of torque, which is just enough to allow a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. We are dealing here with the Porsche Doppelkupplung seven-speed transmission and Porsche Traction Mangement system, which help the SUV change shifts faster and more precise.

Engine wise, the Porsche Macan GTS develops 360 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, with the Sport Chrono package as optional.

There is a voice inside BMW America, saying that the Germans should adapt better to the market needs. This mean more crossovers and less cars.

His name is Damon Shelly and he’s the chairman of the BMW National Dealer Forum. Interviewed by Automotive News, he stated that BMW forces the sales of passenger cars, instead of accepting the natural trend on the market. It seems that the balance between the customers needs and the BMW offer isn’t close of what it should be. For instance, the sales of the BMW light-trucks totalized 33 percent of the vehicles sold, while a more realistic number would be around 40 percent.

To respond the increasing demand for the X models, BMW boosted the production in the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, managing to produce last year over 400.000 vehicles. There will also be some newcomers in the X family: rumors of a small coupe crossover and certain facts about the mighty X7 will probably increase the production even more in the following years.

It is expected that the new X7 to be a best-seller in the American market and it was confirmed that a luxury version, with only four seats will be available at a price of just over 100.000 USD. It will probably feature a hybrid powertrain, together with other twin turbo gasoline engines for the American market and at least a diesel engine for the European customers. One thing is sure: BMW is experiencing a great period, and they have to handle it carefully to keep the clients happy.
