Yamaha Previews Daytona Bike Week Events
The Daytona Bike week for 2019 has come and gone, and if you missed it, well, that is unfortunate. The good news is it will come around again about the same time in March of 2020. The 2019 edition was the 78th anniversary of this event billed as the world’s largest motorcycle extravaganza. The event attracts people from around the world, often more than 500,000 bike lovers. As always, Yamaha commands a strong presence there, and it’s a great place to find out about new bikes and motorcycle OEM parts.
Kick Off the Riding Season
The Daytona 200 is often billed as the start of the racing season, and in 2019 the race was won by Kyle Wyman on board a Yamaha YZF-R6.
It was one of 11 Yamaha bikes in the top 20. Other bikes in the first 20 include the following:
• Suzuki GSX-R600
• Kawasaki ZX-6R
Wyman was fourth in qualifying, three spots behind pole leader Sean Dylan Kelly. The 200 mile race is a test of endurance, strength, speed and teamwork.
The Daytona Week is a great spot to check out an assortment of racing bikes and to witness Yamaha genuine parts. Attendees can look at everything from Yamaha OEM fairings to break pedals to handlebar grips. It’s easy to find inspiration there to make changes to your bike or to find a new bike model to buy.
