Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

The BMW German based carmaker is waiting for the 2016 CES taking place next January, to present its latest technology, in this case the AirTouch technology.

Everybody knows that BMW has pioneered a lot of high-tech goodies that an interior must come with and the aforementioned invention is the real proof that the German carmaker is still keeping the wheels turning.

What Is AirTouch Technology?

AirTouch is actually a more advanced technology of the hand gesture control, displayed inside the car, operating like a touchscreen without touching it.

How Does It Work?

The sensors of the AirTouch system record the hand movements only between the interior mirror and the central console, allowing thus to activate or deactivate the car`s functions from the touchscreen.

But the AirTouch system is not the only gadget that BMW is showing off at the 2016 CES, the carmaker also adding the BMW Gesture Control with 3D control, found on the newly unveiled 2016 BMW 7-Series.

BMW presents the technology: “sensors are installed in the area of the instrument dashboard which respond to hand movements here and therefore permit three-dimensional control. A movement of the hand or a gesture activates the surfaces on the large panorama display.”

We are looking forward to finding more information about the latest BMW technological innovations at the 2016 CES, next January!
