VIDEO: BMW microNavigation helps you find a parking space

It seems that the Germans from BMW are once again a step ahead in research and technology as they recently revealed a prototype navigation system able to find the nearest parking space according to the destination. The new BMW microNavigation has been introduced at the BMW Group Innovation Days and is currently under development but the Germans decided to let us know that the new system will someday be available to the people.

According to the company, the development process for the new innovative navigation system started three years ago, the new software using micro-maps able to provide accurate information even without using the GPS system.

This new system comes quite handy as it lets you plan your journey ahead and returns valuable details which will significantly help you reducing the time needed for finding a free parking space and more.

“Intelligent route planning – i.e. planning a route to a given destination taking into account criteria such as speed, fuel-efficiency or intermodality – has been a development focus at the BMW Group for many years,” says BMW.
