BMW proudly announces that March 2011 has been the best month in terms of sales in the history of the brand. Comparing to March 2010, the overall sales of the BMW Group which also include Rolls Royce and Mini sales raised by 17%, a total of 165,842 unit being sold in just 31 days. This means that the old record of 152,271 units set in 2007 is no longer available.

The new BMW 5 Series F10 is the best selling model in 2011 with 30,954 units while a total of over 200,000 units have been delivered since the model’s debut.

On the other hand, more than 25% of Mini’s sales, namely 8,392 units, were the new Countryman which managed to be the best selling model of the brand last month. Ian Robertson, BMW’s marketing director claimed that they expect to sell more than 1,5 million units this year, something which is not impossible considering that between January 1st and March 31st, BMW sold more than 382,000 units worldwide.

Comparing to the first three months of 2010, when BMW sold around 67,000 vehicles, there is an increase of 21,3% and there is no sign that the increasing trend would not continue.
