Even if Motorrad is BMW`s hardcore division that creates great bikes, it seems that it is in tune with the growing mobility trend and started to create exquisite all sorts of electric means of transport that would ease the way people commute in the urban areas.

One such fine example is the recently launched Motorrad Definition CE 04, which might be regarded as the perfect electric mobility in the scooter segment. Its design is mind-blowing, while its architecture sets the new trend in urban mobility.

As BMW Group recently declared in a statement, the BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 is viewed as a link between present and future, or the analogue and digital worlds of the urban user. Speaking of unique architecture and exquisite design, Alexander Buchan, CEO at BMW Motorrad, also declared:

“We have managed to transfer many innovative elements and details of the concept into the series. The technical realities of electric drive – such as the flat energy packs in the underfloor and the compact drive train – allow us to create a highly distinctive design which defines a new, urban aesthetic and which differentiates itself clearly from conventional styling. A design that follows the basic needs for simple functionality, clear aesthetics and the digital reality today`s users live in. The new architecture has led to a visual revolution and has produced many new design themes. Maybe it will polarise, but it will definitely stand out.”

From a visual perspective, the BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 breaks the conventional boundaries and adopts a whole new design language. We are dealing here with an elongated body that is closer to the ground than any other conventional scooters. The high-class feel is also given by the sharp edges around the surface, with a front end that rises diagonally and which creates a more muscular attitude. Underbody, the battery is flat, allowing for more storage that can be opened from the side. This means easier access to the drivers helmet or other light equipment. The battery`s size also makes the scooter more stability, enabling increased handling and driving dynamics.

However, there is more than meets the eye; besides the exquisite design, the 2020 BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 also offers a lot of connectivity features, thus focusing on user-friendly and practical solutions for the driver. All this offers the perfect balance between comfort, safety, and the thrill of driving. Once you turn on the key, your smartphone is directly connected to the bike`s 10.25-inch display which allows you to perform different actions. We already knew BMW had plans regarding its access to the electric vehicle market. The release of BMW models such as the i3 and i8 is proof of this, however, turning already released vehicle models, such as the BMW X3, into fully electric cars, shows that the Bavarian automaker really means business when it comes to becoming more environmentally friendly.

While at first glance the BMW X3 looks like a normal version of the very popular SUV, the absence of an exhaust system and the presence of a charge port near the left, front wheel arch remind us that this is indeed a special variant of the BMW X3 model. The interesting fact about this particular version is that no compromise has been made in order for it to be transformed into an electric vehicle. Apart from the fuelling system being radically different, the electric BMW X3 will be fitted with the same equipment we see on the regular BMW X3s out there.

The electric BMW X3 is without a doubt a car that most BMW fans look forward to. The vehicle itself combines the best of both worlds. On one hand it is as luxurious as we’ve come to expect from the Bavarian automaker, while on the other, it is more environmentally friendly. Owning an electric vehicle also means saving money on account of electricity being cheaper than fuel. Another important advantage is the reduction of noise. It will be interesting to see how many people will decide to buy the electric BMW X3. The future looks promising for this particular model.

BMW has already planned to release a hybrid version of the same BMW X3 before it releases the fully electric one. Without a doubt eh BMW i8 is one of the most iconic vehicles produced by the Bavarian automaker at this point. Not only is it a hybrid, it also looks and feels fresh. Its futuristic look is enough to convince anybody to actually dream about owning this particular BMW model. Taking this in account, how would and SUV variant of the same vehicle look? Someone decided to imagine this scenario. The result is quite interesting.

The BMW i8 is without a doubt one of the best vehicles in term of design and technology implementation. It’s a car any BMW fan would want to own. BMW has announced that an electric X3 is in the works, but will there also be an i8 SUV model waiting to be released? The chances are quite small. In the end a hybrid SUV variant would not make much sense after the announcement of an electric SUV model. It would be an interesting idea for BMW to produce an SUV variant of the i8 as a limited edition vehicle. BMW fans would most likely look forward to purchasing such a vehicle in order to expand their private collection.

No matter how you look at it, the idea of a BMW i8 SUV quite interesting. The futuristic design of the i8 combined with the SUV concept would definitely fit well for this imagined model. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether or not the folks over at BMW will decide to create such a vehicle. The imagined BMW i8 SUV would prove to be quite an asset, were it to be indeed produced.

The BMW German based has big plans for the i3 REx electric version, announcing a lot of interesting updates for the 2015 model.

The announcement was cited by Consumer Reports, stating that the 2015 BMW i3 REx will come with some changes, like a new and more high-performance battery indicator, loss of power alert, or proactive boosting of the battery`s level.

The changes have been decided due to the issues that the present i3 REX has had so far, concerning the loss of power, when the driver hit the pedal in an attempt to pass a truck on a hill highway.

The BMW i3 REx began to lose power without any alert, the car remaining exposed out in the lane. Fortunately, the i3 REx recovered its power quick and managed to control its position on the road.

Thus, a software update has been decided, with the first one coming at the end of the first quarter, 2015, becoming standard on all 2015 models, while the charge port, unlocking the J1772 nozzles, will arrive further on.

The BMW`s subdivision MINI has big plans with its future models, as an electric version might hit the market soon enough.

The evolution of the MINI carmaker was something inevitably, as the carmaker`s models have constantly suffered design and performance modifications.

The new MINI electric was first previewed by the Superleggera concept, seen last week in the United Kingdom, and might be showcased as a two-door roadster, but longer and much sleeker than the standard one.

The member of the BMW board Peter Schwarzenbauer, stated that the carmaker has an array of possibilities to choose from, concerning the manufacturing of a MINI electric version, that would hit the market in around six months.

“… you look into several different options, you come to the question: do we produce it ourselves, do we give it to somebody else,” Schwarzenbauer also stated.

The BMW German based automaker, the godfather of MINI, is also planning to minimize the British carmaker`s lineup by seven MINI models, which would eventually lead to a global reorganization of the carmaker.

The standard i3 battery-running vehicle will be eligible deemed for the California`s white stickers, which let owners drive only in HOV lanes alone.

With the unlimited number of white stickers for the EVs like the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S, California has set a law limiting the number of the green stickers, which allow solo-HOV access to plug-in hybrids and as well extended-range plug ins, to only 40,000 units.

Last year, there were around 29,000 green stickers alone to be given to cars like Chevrolet Volt and the Toyota Prius Plug In, as the stickers for this year, for other green cars like the BMW i3 might be running out in just a couple of months.

There is also a waiting list for the i3 Range extender to be running out starting with January, so the time is slowly ticking away, and that would put off the customers looking to buy the i3.

Earlier this year, the German manufacturer said that the i3 REx would be the perfect suitor for the white stickers, as the car is also called BEVx, meaning it is an electric motor with a single-charge range.

With all that, BMW assured us that the green stickers wouldn’t run out until the end of 2014.

What Car? has already nominated the winners for the green car category, and as it was expected, the BMW i3 won the category, beating up its competitors like Renault Zoe and Tesla Model S.

The rules for the What Car? nominations were quite simple: the first one is, that all competitors must be “eco”. Every facelift for all new model must pump out less CO2 as the car makers struggle to cope with the emissions regulations.

Then, another criteria would be that all participating cars must make electric motoring more accessible, by introducing technology to go with that.

BMW i3 has it all: high-tech since it has now teamed-up with Samsung to deliver the Samsung Galaxy Gear BMW i3; a new all-electric powertrain and carbon fiber reinforced plastic; an electric motor worthy of our respect: a synchronous electric motor offering 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

It is the case our big winner, BMW i3, the first electric car that BMW has ever made. And you know how it is said: the first time is always the best time.

BMW i3 and i8 are the latest electric vehicles that the German car maker pushed up front and as expected, plans for gaining the general interest are still under development.

BMW Concept Active Tourer is the first BMW that has front-wheel drive (FWD). This model is a MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) that will compete with B-Class from Mercedes.

It was presented at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show where it was greatly appreciated by all visitors. BMW Active Tourer will be released in about 2 years.

BMW claims a fuel consumption of just 1.5L/100km because of EfficientDynamics, all this consumption of a 3-cylinder gasoline engine which outputs 190hp (140kW) on a hybrid plug-in platform eDrive architecture.

The future BMW Active Tourer will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in only 7.9s which is very good considering the weight at which we expect to be higher than the normal BMW cars, that because to battery present inside it.

Once this BMW Active Tourer remains only battery, its autonomy will be somewhere for just 30km, which means you should be headed to the nearest place where you have to fuel with gasoline.

In the past BMW have won quite a few awards for various achievements related to their business. Though I’m a big fan of the engine of the year ones, the favorite is else were.

The constant stream of sustainability titles is what I love the Bavarians for. Essentially, they’re not only bringing us joy right now, they will be here for a long time in the future as well.

As recent proof of these constant efforts to stay on top, BMW recently told us about their keeping of original forecasts and predictions in finance.

BMW’s CEO Norbert Reithofer has now stepped forward in order to give us another bit of news about the sustained efforts of the company.

The focus this time is not the money bag, but rather something that’s sapping into the funds. Yes, it’s the electric car they’re advocating under the i brand.

If the BMW i4’s unveiling at the LA Auto Show wasn’t enough of a giveaway, it seems that the Bavarians are willing to spend on this sort of technology.

They know that it’s going to lose money for now, and for quite some time in the near future, so why are they doing it?

Why is a company that’s careful with its money interested in wasting some of it? The simple reason is that it’s not actually a waste.
