A special edition vehicle based on BMW’s Z4 convertible has been formally unveiled. At the Concours d’Elegance in Villa d’Este, the new, distinctive model, known as the Z4 Touring Coupe, was introduced.

BMW has provided us with a hint about a potential one-of-a-kind model of its own, based on the Z4 convertible and displayed at this year’s Concours d’Elegance in Villa d’Este. Recently, the Z4 Touring Coupe, a brand-new, distinctive model, was unveiled by the Bavarian manufacturer. To put it another way, this design is based on the Z4 Convertible and is even sometimes referred to as the Z3 M Coupe, which was manufactured from 1997 to 2002.

Of course, the roof that gives the Z4 Touring Coupe an uncommon appearance is the largest novelty that the special version brings. Due to its design, the majority of brand supporters have already given it many nicknames, such as the “bread machine” or even the “clown’s shoe.” The one-of-a-kind model was meticulously handcrafted, and it is painted in the Sparkling Lario color, which was developed especially for the new Z4 Touring Coupe and has blue metallic flakes.
Additionally, this area features a unique double grille with double longitudinal bars and embellishments in silver and bronze.

Golden rims that are 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the back elegantly finish the exterior.
The Z4’s basic interior hasn’t changed much since. But we also offer a few unique features right here. Among these, we point out the leather upholstery made by the Italians at Poltrona Frau, coloured in two contrasting hues of brown.

The renowned in-line 6-cylinder engine from the manufacturer is housed under the hood of the new, distinctive model. In addition, the Z4 M40i version, the most potent variant of the convertible type, is the version on which the new BMW Z4 Touring Coupe is built. The 3.0-liter bi-turbo engine in this vehicle produces 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The performance of the new special model was kept a secret by the German manufacturer.

The new BMW Z4 Touring Coupe is currently only available as a one-off; BMW has no current intentions to release it as a series vehicle.

The Bavarian carmaker has published the first information and images with the new generation 2 Series Coupe. The Munich sports model has grown in size and is available with petrol and diesel engines with powers of up to 374 hp.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​opens its doors on July 8. Visitors will be able to admire here cars that have made history, but also models recently launched on the market. One of them is the new generation BMW 2 Series Coupe.

The Munich manufacturer has chosen this event to officially launch the new 2 Series Coupe, and the first images and information about it have just been published. The compact sports model will be assembled at the BMW plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

LARGER DIMENSIONS

In terms of size, the new 2 Series Coupe has grown compared to the old iteration. The length measures 4,537 millimeters (+105), the width is 1,838 millimeters (+64), and 2,741 mm (+51) are passed near the wheelbase. All the while, the height is 1,390 millimeters (-28). For extra maneuverability, the front and rear gauges are also 54 and 31 millimeters larger, respectively.

Conceived as a spiritual successor to the famous BMW 02, the new 2 Series Coupe offers a design characterized by sculpted surfaces and dynamic lines. Flared wings, full LED headlights, a BMW grille with “kidneys” positioned horizontally, an elongated hood, a plunging ceiling and taillights pushed to the extremities are just some of the defining aesthetic elements.

The top version of the M240i xDrive Coupe comes with spoilers and other elements specific to the M Sport models. Customers can, of course, also opt for the M Performance components, which accentuate the sportiness of this model.

17-inch wheels are standard, and 18-inch wheels are reserved for M Sport models.

The M240i Coupe is equipped with 19-inch wheels, and the M Performance catalog also includes some with a diameter of 20 inches.

Passengers will find inside sports seats, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, fabric / Sensatec upholstery, Dark Graphite ornaments, three-zone air conditioning, BMW Live Cockpit system with 8.8-inch central display and 5.1-inch screen integrated into the instrument panel.

The 10.25 inch screen of the seventh generation multimedia system is optional, as is the digital instrument panel with 12.3 inch display. Both are part of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional system. Ambient light, Harman Kardon audio system, electrically adjustable sports seats, seat and steering wheel heating function or M Sport seats with integrated headrests can be found on the same list

The trunk has a load volume of 390 liters. For extra space, the rear seat is foldable in a 40:20:40 ratio.

COMPONENTS TAKEN FROM SERIES 4

The new BMW 2 Series Coupe is intended to be a dynamic car, which is why Bavarian engineers have borrowed several components from the 4 Series and adapted them for the compact sports model. The suspension has been improved and the chassis is 12% stiffer than before.

The M Sport suspension is standard on the M240i xDrive Coupe and optional for other versions. The M adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers is also optional.

The entry into the range is made with the new BMW 220i Coupe. Equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, it has 184 hp and 300 Nm, enough to reach 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds.

A 245-horsepower version of the same engine will equip, from the summer of 2022, the future 230i Coupe.

Fans of diesel units will have at their disposal the new 220d Coupe. The four-cylinder unit integrates a micro-hybrid system at 48V and develops 190 hp and 400 Nm. In his case, the 0-100 km / h half lasts 6.9 seconds.

THE TOP VERSION WILL HAVE 374 HORSES OF POWER

The top of the range is the M240i xDrive Coupe version with its 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. The engine develops 374 hp (+34) and 500 Nm, so the car sprints up to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds.

The first two versions come equipped as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, but customers can also check the Steptronic Sport gearbox with the same number of gears. This is standard on the M240i.

The list of safety systems offered as standard includes frontal collision warning, lane departure warning, Cruise Control with braking function and speed limit information.

Driving Assistant technology with Lane Change Warning, Rear Collision Prevention, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Park Distance Control, Reversing Assistant, Reversing Assist Camera, Surround View and Remote 3D View are optional.

The debut of the new generation BMW 2 Series Coupe is scheduled for early next year.

With the recent adaption of SUVs such as the Range Rover Evoque, it seemed sensible for BMW to try the same move, offering Coupe and Cabriolet models of one of its smaller SUVs in production, an SUV like the BMW X2. The people over at BMW neither confirm nor do they completely deny the possibility of such a move.

With the recent diversification of SUV models going on, it seemed sensible for BMW to follow the same trend. Offering a Coupe or Cabriolet variant of the BMW X2, for those looking to buy something more extravagant than your average BMW SUV may still be something BMW has planned. As they put it, the information can’t be confirmed. This being said, the information is not denied either, which basically means we’ll have to wait and see what BMW’s next move will be regarding this specific subject.

BMW`s most astonishing model 8-Series, yet to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next March, has been tipped off for production in 2018, with the model to be built at the company`s facility in Dongolfing, Germany.

According to a recent report issued by Auto News, the new BMW 8-Series will arrive next year with the company`s new design language and brand-new, high-tech interior, also to be implemented on other new models.

We are looking here at the direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabrio, an exclusive car with the most advanced technologies and an evolutionary design.

Speaking of new design language, the future 8-Series will come with “a new look”, with new elements borrowed from the 8-Series concept revealed at the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este some time ago.

According to Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW`s Senior Vice President of Design, these new design elements refer to the concept`s grille and Hofmeister kink, adding as well trapezoidal exhaust tips which will enhance the car`s aggressive look.

The company`s new design philosophy will not be limited to the exterior, van Hooydonk also stating that the interior will come with the latest iDrive infotainment system, improved dashboard and high-end materials on the seats, dash, and other interior surfaces.

Performance wise, the all-new 8-Series Coupe and Cabrio will come with a wide range of engines under the hood, like a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder mill, or a 6.6-liter V12 from BMW`s new M760Li xDrive. Additionally, BMW is also likely to offer M8`s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with no less than 600 horsepower.

As aforementioned, the all-new BMW 8-Series Coupe will be released on the European and US markets next year, with the Cabriolet variant to arrive in 2019, according to the same report from Auto News. As for both models` success, they will definitely become a benchmark in terms of technology and evolutionary design language.

This summer is going to be extremely hot for BMW which has prepared an entire new fleet for launch, including the long-expected 1-Series, 3-Series and the recently previewed 2018 2-Series, coming both in the Coupe and Cabriolet.

The new philosophy that BMW has designed its models around is building bigger and more aerodynamics products, coming with the latest technology onboard and plenty of performance under the hood.

Scheduled to arrive in June, the all-new 2018 BMW 2-Series Coupe and Convertible follow the same line, both coming with updated design, the latest high-tech gadgetries and improved mechanics.

As we can see in the video presentation below, the all-new 2-Series is now coming with updated front-end with bi-LED headlights, wider kidney grille and more rounded air intakes, all increasing the aggressive look. Also, the rear end is highlighted by the single-piece rear lights with hallmark L-shape flowing into the flanks.

The instrument panel is also tweaked with the latest onboard technology and “significantly enhances the cockpit’s quality feel.”

Ever since its official unveiling on the market last year, BMW`s “baby-M”, the new M2 Coupe, has become the loved one in the tuning market, the model popping-up in extraordinary media galleries fully-tweaked with outstanding aero kits and impressive power stages under the hood.

BMW carmaker released the first details and pictures with the all-new 2018 4-Series facelift about a week ago, the model ending up in the news again in a new media gallery and some fresh details.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the 2018 4-Series looks visibly changed in terms of design, and even if it keeps the overall style of the previous model, it does come with plenty of new tweaks, which makes it more aggressive and appealing.

The facelifted model in all its forms – the coupe, convertible and the Gran Coupe – now features updated front and rear aprons, full-LED headlights, wider and much more prominent air intake with sharp contours and standout bars, adding as well LED taillights, chrome accents or high-black gloss surroundings.

Other visual tweaks also comprise new bumper with huge grilles and sculpted boot lid, two exterior colours – Sunset Orange, Snapper Rocks Blueall, a choice of 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, all features contributing to the lineup`s improved personality and stance.

The list of new mods include the interior as well. The cabin of the 4-Series lineup first includes a serious of new touches on the air outlets, control panels in the doors, adding the same high-gloss black trims on the center console.

There is also a mixture of Midnight Blue Dakota, Cognac Dakota and Ivory White Dakota leathers, along with Carbon Aluminum trim surrounding the entire area.

The increasingly high-demand on the luxury segment has forced BMW German carmaker into taking some drastic changes concerning its high-end models. And we know that the company has already planned some interesting modifications on that matter.

According to recent rumors and reports, the current 6-Series will loose its identity and will sacrifice itself in order to make room for the upcoming and long-rumored BMW 8-Series, while the 5-Series GT will shape up the personality of the future 6-Series GT.

Once arriving on the market and seen here in a fresh spy video while playing in the Arctic Snow – only the 8-Series Coupe and Convertible – both models will confirm the company`s new philosophy of building bigger, strong, much reliable and faster models, all luxurious as they can be in their final forms.

Currently, both models were put to hard testing in Sweden, which has become the carmaker`s playing ground for the last couple of years. Seen here are only the future BMW 8-Series Coupe and Convertible, both models being put to the extreme tests, which are once more the real proof that BMW is planning to build the perfect models to operate in all harsh weather conditions.

The camouflage around the body is also a clear indication that, compared to the present 6-Series, both models will come with advanced aerodynamics, state of the art technology, improved mechanics and the latest powertrains.

Once arriving on the market, the 840i and 840d base models will come with a wide range of six-cylinder engines, while the top of the line 850i version will be offered with a V8 engine, capable of around 450 horsepower. As expected, the range will also spawn a high-performance M860i model, with a V12 biturbo engine, shortly followed by an M8, as also previously rumored, hitting the market somewhere in 2019.

Even with the ongoing 2017 NAIAS, taking place in Detroit, the German based BMW carmaker is still keeping its plans of introducing lots of new models starting this year.

Two of them concern the reborn of the 6-Series – the Coupe and the Convertible – recently seen on the road while performing some heavy snowy testing.

Rumors with the new 6-Series coming with lots of influences from the future 8-Series have been the internet`s top news, but with the new test mules being presented in the flesh, chances are that both versions will be keeping their own identity.

Even so, the 6-Series models will come with lots of design transformations and the heavy camouflage just confirms it. Once arriving on the market, the 6-Series Coupe and Convertible will come with a more raked roofline towards the back, which will make them extremely appealing and attractive.

What it is more interesting on the Convertible than on the Coupe, is that the former one seems to hide a metal roof under the soft top, as the rear window comes with a different shape compared to the present model, with the black canvas also present over the roofline without being part of the whole system. Even so, the space will be visible diminuished.

Once decided for mass-production, both the BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible will be sitting on the carmaker`s new flexible CLAR platform, also underpinning the new 5-Series Gran Turismo, meaning that it will allow a wide array of engines under the hood. However, the power information are kept hidden at the moment, but we should be able to find out more in the upcoming period.
