BMW is ready to tackle the South Korean market with the already unveiled BMW 1-Series, which is the facelift of the present model, aimed towards the young generation who seems to have a preference for BMW models.

The BMW 1-Series facelift is coming with an interesting body style makeover, as well as two sole dedicated 118d Sport and 118d Sport Launch Pack versions in South Korean, which will cost from 38.9 million yuan, the equivalent of $34,639.

At the body, the BMW 1-Series facelift will tweak revised and narrowed LED headlamps as well as L-shaped taillights, which provide the model with an “extensive” design. Apart these changes, the 1-Series facelift also stands aside from the present model with the revised kidney grille, front and rear bumpers, the 17-inch alloy wheels and a few more.

Inside, the BMW 1-Series facelift is also fresh, thanks to the updated 6.5-inch infotainment screen with iDrive, the rear-view camera, climate control and so on. Under the hood, the engine is also expected to be more fuel-efficient.

Speaking about performance, a BMW Korea spokesman stated that the BMW 1-Series` “horsepower and torque are the highest among its peers such as Audi’s A1 and Mercedes-Benz’s A-class. That’s what we are appealing to the 20- and 30-somethings who would choose the BMW 1-series as their first imported car.”

We are dealing here with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo unit with 150 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, at a topping of 212 km/h, with the power being set ot the rear via an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

The BMW 1-Series facelift is a relatively new model in the company’s range, a fact that makes us keep an eye open every time we see a model on the streets. The star of the show today is a BMW 118d xDrive that is fitted with the M Sport Package.

As we know, the kit bring some aesthetic changes at the exterior, such as the revised front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser. The owner of this car also opted for an Estoril Blue finish, but that’s not necessarily a feature of the M Sport Package.

Speaking of the BMW 118d model, it has a 2.0-liter turbodiesel powerplant capable to produce 150 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.

The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8,4 second is not mind-blowing but it’s decent enough for a frugal diesel. The BMW 118d with M Sport Package starts at €34,550 in Germany, almost €5,000 more than the regular version.

All the power goes to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission for a top speed of 210 km/h. With all these figures reminded, all you have to do is take a look at this BMW 1-Series facelift with M Sport Package and tell us if it’s worth the extra money.

After several leaked images and even a rendering, we finally get to see the 2015 BMW 1 Series facelift in its full glory as the German company decided to fully unveil the little hatchback.

Available in both three- and five-door variants, the new model comes with serious styling tweaks, new equipment inside and a total of nine versions, three of them also being available with the xDrive system. To begin with, the entry-level BMW 116i packs a 1.5-liter engine producing 109 horsepower while the next two versions, namely 118i and 120i, sport a 1.6-liter engine. The only difference between them is, of course, the output.

If the BMW 118i comes with 136 horses, the 120i has no less than 177 horsepower. More power is offered by the 218 hp 2.0-liter engine in the BMW 125i with the BMW M135i topping at 326 horses and 450 Nm of torque squeezed from a 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit. On the other hand, those of you looking forward to a more frugal car, there’s the BMW 116d with a 1.5-liter producing 116 horsepower.

A 2.0-liter engine with 150 hp, 190 hp and 224 hp equip the rest of the diesel range, namely the 118d, 120d and 125d respectively. With the engine range concluded, we have to take a look at the aesthetic changes that BMW prepared for us. The exterior boasts now LED daytime running lights with optional LED headlights with High Beam Assistant.

Revised bumpers, air intakes and kidney front grille are also available but that’s nothing unexpected. When you enter the cabin you will notice the high-gloss black detailing as well as the revised materials, a dual-zone climate control system, a tweaked infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display as well as a revised center console.

So, the most powerful 2015 BMW 1 Series facelift is the BMW M135i and its xDrive version (BMW M135i xDrive), both having 326hp. The BMW M135i has a top speed of 5,1 seconds (0-100km/h), respectively 4,7 seconds for its xDrive version.

It seems that BMW is getting ready to launch the restyled BMW 1-Series as a prototype wearing less camouflage than before was spotted on the street. The German hatchback is expected to debut towards the end of this year and come with minor styling tweaks.

As the camouflage suggests, the modifications will be seen in the front and rear end, namely the bumpers and front grille.

The model pictured above is the sportier BMW M135i which should benefit from a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo delivering 326hp and 450 Nm of torque.

We also expect interior improvements but for now, there aren’t any images of the cabin.

Nowadays, every model has a limited life span, and when that ends, it’s time to bring out a new generation or a completely new vehicle to replace it.

Still, while it runs, the manufacturer still has to try and periodically freshen the design a bit. And that is what we call a facelift.

Next year, the BMW 1 Series is due to receive such a facelift, and Theophilus Chin was kind enough to present us with a rendering of a most likely outcome. Right away, we can see that the trend that has been going around BMW will probably keep on going.

While they say they want to greatly diversify their vehicle lineup, to offer something for every taste, they seem to miss the point of it. Not only do they want to reduce the number of platforms they are using, they also seem to homogenize the looks of certain vehicles.

Thus, the 3 and 4 Series might be technically different, but from a frontal view, they are hard to tell apart. The same seems to be in store for the facelifted 1 Series, which will only differ from the 2 Series thanks to its hatchback design.

The Bavarian company seems to be intensifying tests for the 2014 BMW 1 Series, namely for the facelifted model which is expected to debut next year.

The company won’t surprise us with any major improvements which are quite disappointing, even though we talk about a facelift model which usually gets just few minor tweaks.

At the exterior, the front end will get a revised grille, a new bumper and other minor modifications.

Power will be offered by the same units namely 2.0-liter diesels with outputs from 114hp to 215hp, a fuel-efficient EfficientDynamics Edition and an array of petrol powerplants ranging from a 1.6-liter turbo with 134hp to a more potent 215-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo.

Inside, we should expect improved materials and maybe new trim, but there are no photos or details in this regard. Stay tuned for more coverage on the 2014 BMW 1 Series facelift as the story develops.

With the Detroit Auto Show just around the corner, we think that this is the right moment to recap the latest BMW models and to put them all together. BMW announced that the American motor show scheduled to start early next year will bring three world firsts.

Of course, the models in question are already known in depth by BMW’s fans as they were fully revealed but now they have to meet the public within an important automotive event. The first world premiere will be the third generation 6 Series, namely the BMW 650i F13.

Together with the new 6 Series convertible, the Germans from BMW will introduce to the audience the revised 1 Series range, namely the facelifted convertible (E88) and coupe (E82) versions of 1 Series. Finally, BMW will reveal the smallest M ever created, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, a model which is powered by a six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine able to develop 355 horsepower. The model has been recently revealed by the Germans and will enter the assembly line next year.

The Detroit Auto Show scheduled to start early next year will see the debut of the revised versions of BMW 1 Series. The Germans from BMW decided to reveal the facelift version of the current 1 Series generation, however, just the convertible (E88) and coupe (E82) versions benefiting from the minor upgrades.

At a glance we can observe the new front and rear revised optical blocks with LED lights while several new 17 and 18 inch alloy rims will be available. The Germans announced two more color options (Vermilion Red and Marrakesh Brown) to be available for the facelifted versions. A new front bumper is available too outside together with an integrated front splitter able to improve the drag coefficient, thus, to slightly improve the model’s performance.

The interior gets few touches too, being available new features such as new color options, chromed edges for the dashboard, a new button for the Dynamics Stability Control system but also a new sports steering wheel with shift paddles. The BMW 1 Series facelift will go on sale in March 2011.
