The BMW 2-Series Family Tourer is ending up in our news again in new shots, while the model was seen on public roads, during some tests.

The BMW German based automaker is trying to consolidate its 2-Series lineup, by adding a new model, the Family Tourer, which will stand on the same platform as the current Active Tourer.

The BMW 2-Series Family Tourer will resemble its sibling Active Tourer, with some slight modifications at the back, as the model in question will be coming in a 7-seat version.

The two extra seats at the back will be destined for children only, as the space will not allow enough space for adult passengers.

The future BMW 2-Series Family Tourer will be a little bit longer and taller at the rear, also to use the same engine lineup found on the same Active Tourer model.

We are talking about a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel units, while the range topping 2.0-liter unit, will develop 231 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, the engine being hooked to an all-wheel drive, in the 228i xDrive.

The BMW 2-Series Family Tourer will be perhaps unveiled at the end of the year, with future details to be known at that moment.

The 2015 MINI Countryman has just been confirmed, the model coming in a premiere with a four-door body and some interesting features at the exterior and under the hood.

The 2015 MINI Countryman is tweaked to have larger tailgate, five seats, as well as an optional all-wheel drive layout, which makes the car have a fuel consumption of just 7.1-4.2 liter per every 100 km, with a combined emission of 165 – 111 g/km.

The 2015 MINI Countryman sports the same characteristics that every MINI must have, meaning the same hexagonal radiator grille, all tweaked in a new stylish design, the visual guard elements at the front and rear apron and much more.

More than that, the 2015 MINI Countryman is equipped with the optional light alloy wheels that helps the car reduce weight, while the fresh paintjobs in Jungle Green metallic, Midnight Grey metallic or Starlight Blue metallic, make the vehicle so unique.

Under the hood, the 2015 MINI Countryman comes with additional four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all of them having emission rating in accordance with the EU 6 standard, as well as an increase power by 5 kW to 140 kW, in the MINI Cooper S Countryman.

The 2015 BMW X4 has just been launched ahead the upcoming 2014 New York Auto Show, due next month, with the car being priced with the base $45,625.

BMW has had a huge success with the original X6 coupe and now the German base luxury manufacturer has decided to launch a next-generation of coupe-like, in the shape of the all-new X4.

Like so many other crossover-like coupe, the X4 is also based on the X3`s platform, just like the wider X6 sharing its platform with the X5 sibling, with the car being manufactured at the BMW`s plant in Spartanburg, South California.

The X4 is meant to face tough challenge from Range Rover Evoque, Porsche Macan or Lincoln MKC, aiming to becoming the top of the line in terms of both utility as well as performance.

We are also talking about the car`s four-door body with coupe characteristics, with vehicle featuring sporty option and a tighter space inside.

Under the hood, the 2015 BMW X4 offers a choice of engines like the base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 ponies for the xDrive28i, along with a more powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged straight six engine with 300 horsepower for the xDrive 35i.

The BMW X4 comes with an xDrive all-wheel drive as standard. Enjoy the pics.

The trip from Germany to France is usually quite fine on the motorway route. Munich to Paris is easily accessible.

Paris to St Moritz might be a little trickier. Particularly in a BMW with its sporty RWD that may raise your BPM on a twisty road with ice.

That’s where xDrive comes in. BMW’s brilliant all wheel drive system works great on the larger cars. Now though, it’s been introduced on the 1 Series as well.

The enhanced practicality, the improved usability and the option to drive this car all year round without any concerns about getting going in the morning.

A few details may be missing here and there as we’re not yet sure if all the powerplants available in the F20 1 Series will get the xDrive option.

What is for certain is that the M135i, the hottest version of the 1 Series will be getting it since the Paris Show stand had this car in particular on display.

Volkswagen’s Golf R32 was always a cheaper car but, thanks to its four wheel drive, always seemed like a more sensible way of getting the power down.

Now that the F20 1 Series has the M135i xDrive option in the lineup that appeal has simply disappeared. The VW car also comes with less power.

The inline six cylinder turbocharged powerplant in this car develops 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft in the silkiest way possible.

Power is available from just over tick-over up to near the redline, making for yet another brilliant driver’s car.

Life in the luxury car market sales isn’t the most certain thing out there these days. After a while of domination from Lexus, BMW took over and the battle is once again heating up.

Last month’s results saw our favorite Bavarian brand struggle and this one isn’t looking up either. The majority of hope lies on the 3 Series.

The F30 3 Series is one of the largest volume cars BMW makes and still it has its work cut out. Not only that, the car itself isn’t the main attraction.

The company’s analysts say that the most important selling point of the 3 Series is the newly available xDrive four wheel drive option.

It’s interesting to note that the major rivalries here are over the US market and that the main competitors are actually two other German companies.

Obviously, there’s still some of the European and Asian markets to consider. Trouble is, both these markets have seen better days.

Whereas Europe is dealing with a financial crisis the likes of which we rarely see, China’s problem is on a different field.

A lot of civil unrest is going on as the economy is shaking and the automotive market is seriously shaken up by the entire thing.

This is a major problem for just about everybody but especially for the Japanese car makers. Meanwhile in the USA, dealers are having a nicer time.

It seems that the most capable fight in the segment of the F30 BMW 3 Series xDrive is going to be the Mercedes C Class. Unusual since Audi is actually the runner up these days.

BMW’s Paris Motor Show stand for this year will be full of stuff. The 1 Series GT will be there and so will the new 1.5 liter engine.

All interesting stuff, but, in true telemarketing sales fashion, wait… there’s more. The same Bavarian stand will feature this.

It looks like an F20 BMW 1 Series and it is but there’s something substantially different about what’s underneath it.

That showcased model will be the first ever 1 Series to feature the xDrive all wheel drive system. Apparently, luxury car buyers can’t do without it.

In truth, there is quite a bit of demand for some of these pumped up drivetrains but that won’t revolutionize the way the 1 Series sells.

The F20 BMW 1 Series xDrive will remain a niche product and there’s no getting away from the “price” you have to pay for the advantage of having all wheels driven.

Obviously, the xDrive option will cost more to purchase to begin with. Moving up the list, it will cost more to run since fuel economy will be worse in these conditions.

Even with the efficient dynamics ideology behind it, BMW’s new xDrive 1 Series will lose some of its fuel economy charm.

More importantly for the sales of this car, the xDrive system can only be fitted to the 3 and 5 door hatchback models.

That means that, for the time being, xDrive is only available on the Euro-spec F20 BMW 1 Series and not the coupe and convertible E80 series version that’s available in the US.

More details on the engines, performance and efficiency are to come once the Paris Show actually starts.

BMW’s 1 Series was recently refreshed in F20 form and while it offers up quite a few plus points on top of the previous generation, it’s lacking some as well.

Among the major casualties of this generation we’re going to count the fantastic 1 Series M Coupe, but also its smaller, rather less glamorous brother.

I’m talking about the BMW 135i, a model plenty would refer to as the closest thing the Bavarians came to making an M version of the little hatchback before they actually made one.

The new range of F20 BMW 1 Series comes with a few engine options under the bonnet and while they’re all modern, efficient and decently powerful, they’re not as fan as a big one.

Using BMW’s infamous 3.0 liter straights six, in turbocharged N55 form, tweaking it and then slotting it under the F20’s bonnet seems like quite the attractive package.

Apparently, that’s what rumor has it is actually going round. Not only is BMW presumably making a new version of the 135i, there are even some suggested specs available.

Around 320 horsepower are expected to turn up in this special 1 Series and there’s even the possibility of it introducing all wheel drive to the hatchback for the first time ever.

Sounds pretty good, except I don’t think it will happen like this. My prediction is that in this case, if the BMW 135i has 320 ponies, an M packaged version should come with an extra 10 or 20 horsepower.

It would be quite the problem as it would develop as much as the current generation of the 1 Series M. Maybe the hottest version of the rumored 135i will have 320 horsepower and the regular one around 300. It would make more sense.

BMW have made an announcement yesterday in which they presented a price list which is of great interest to those who fancy a 5 Series with all wheel drive.

The 2010 F10 BMW 5 Series with xDrive won’t be available until October this year but having an idea of what to expect is always going to come in handy.

Let’s start from the beginning and make clear what you get for your money, before we actually say how much of it you’re going to need. The xDrive all wheel drive system available on the new F10 BMW 5 Series can utilize individual braking on the rear wheels to send torque to either side as needed to counteract any form of oversteer or understeer.

Then there’s the work of the the central clutch pack which is set by default to send 80 percent of the torque to the rear axle to minimize understeer and retain BMW’s familiar driving dynamics, and this ratio is only broken to the front when traction is running low.

It has to be said that while the new xDrive BMW is offering for the 5 Series is expected to be epic it most likely won’t be as good as the system available on the bigger brothers such as the X6 and X5. That said though, you do get a hill descent control system that will maintain a constant speed when going down a slippery grade.

Tempted yet? Well, you’ll have to dish out at least $52,775 for the 535xi or a minimum of $62,875 for the 550xi.

BMW has announced the introduction of the xDrive intelligent all wheel drive systems on models that don’t have it available yet.

The list of models in cause includes the full 5 Series Gran Turismo range and the BMW 740d.

In the case of the BMW 5 Series GT the xDrive will be an option, starting June 2010, on all engines available for it, more specifically for the 3 liter diesel and the 4.4 liter petrol engine.

According to official BMW data, the 530d xDrive GT will do 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds, will continue on to 146 mph and will do these feats and eventually average an estimated 41 mpg with a CO2 rating of 183 g/km. As far as the BMW 55oi xDrive GT is concerned, things are a bit different as the sprint to 60 mph from a standstill will be over in 5.4 seconds. The same can be said for the top speed which will be electronically limited to 155 mph. The green data from this beast of a car turns in at around 24 mpg and produces 275 g/km of CO2.

If you may want to have some other options you’ll have to wait for September as that’ll be the release date for the 535i and 535d versions of the GT.

Around that period, the autumn, the BMW 740d will get this option of the xDrive so that it’s 306 horsepower turbo-diesel engine can get down to road better.

It’s kind of funny if we have this because we just talked yesterday about some other news about this BMW 5 Series Touring namely that BMW won’t stop building this car or it will, but just in U.S. because they had few sales there. The Europeans shouldn’t worry about it.

If you were still not sure what to believe from the news that I wrote yesterday, I think now you should be sure that this car won’t stop being built. You may think that this spy video was taken a while ago but it’s not true, it was taken just with one month before the release at the Leipzig 2010 Auto Show.

As you can see in the spy video, there is not just one BMW 5 Series Touring, there are three BMW 5 Series Touring namely a blue one, a white one and a black one and both of them are barely camouflaged.
