Over the last 30 years, the BMW German carmaker has produced hundreds of high-performance sports cars, including this year`s high-end models from the M division.

This was a good opportunity for BMW to celebrate the event by releasing a number of exclusive models, like the one-off BMW M3 “30 Jahre”, recently displayed at the 2016 SA Festival of Motoring.

As we already know, this is a limited edition, with just 30 units being available for sale in South Africa. The entire model is high-end, starting at the exterior and finishing under the hood.

From a visual standpoint, the BMW M3 “30Jahre” is paying its respect to the first-gen BMW M3 by wearing the special Macao Blue Metallic exterior color, coming as well with the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line and the plethora of features.

The most standout styling bits are the M sports exhaust system with black chrome tailpipe, front wings with the M gills and the “30 Jahre” badge and so on. The entire styling is complemented with the 20-inch high-forged M light-alloy wheels, wrapping the 666 M start spoke design with 265/30 R20 and 285/30 R20 front and rear tires.

Mechanically speaking, the M3 “30 Jahre” edition also features a plethora of high-performance parts, like Adaptive M suspension system, updated springs, dampers, stabilizers, along with the Dynamic Stability Control and Active M differential, which modifies the car`s driving capabilities, according to all three driving modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport +.

In the engine department, the model packs the same engine also found on the M3 Competition Package, but adds a slight power overboost.

We are looking here at a total of 450 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. With the six-speed manual transmission, the car reaches 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, while the DCT makes is run faster with around 0.2 seconds.

I’d be pretty annoyed by now. The E92 BMW M3 limited edition practice is getting pretty annoying regarding the way they keep coming about.

You’d imagine they’d had enough by now and that people had realized they’re not necessarily worth buying any more since their exclusivity fades away within months when a new one is created.

With this newest of limited BMW M3 editions that will very likely not be the case since it’s meant to celebrate the DTM victories of the Bavarian car maker in 2012.

Having returned to their home racing event, the German Touring Car Championship, better known as the DTM, the new M3 racer fared brilliantly.

As a newcomer, the M3 racer looked as though it had a mountain to climb. Making its journey more arduous, there were only six cars competing instead of eight as their rivals did.

The unfamiliar conditions were very problematic and yet nobody was deterred about the event. Bruno Sprengler won half the races in the championship.

This gave him the driver’s title, it gave his team, AC Schnitzer, another title and it gave BMW the constructor’s championship.

In celebration of the events, the home office promised a new version of the M3 which was to be built in order to celebrate the victory.

That car is now finally ready for a proper unveiling and comes with its own good looking gallery of pictures. The details have not changed, but there are some perks.

After paying the €99.000 asking price, you will get a chance to purchase racing training alongside the current DTM championship, Sprengler himself.

Ah yes, it’s looking as though the E92 BMW M3 still refuses to go away quietly. As we know that the next M3 will not be showing up until late next year, there’s still plenty of life left in this one.

In order to seem a little more important than usual, the 2013 version of the current M3, BMW will be introducing this version.

It’s a derivative of the already known Frozen paint models, except this time, it’s a custom shade of blue that stands out.

In fact, it’s actually the previous versions that spawned this one to come to life. American buyers weren’t very happy about having missed out on the limited edition.

Whereas other Frozen Paint BMW M3 models had a run of about 40 units, this time the Bavarians are more generous and offering 150 cars in this form.

Just in case you’re wanting for the previous options, the Red and White editions of the Frozen Paint will still be on the list of options.

The rest of that list is pretty short since you get an awful amount of equipment as standard. Highlights however are not for everybody.

Only the special editions get matte black 19” light alloy wheels, Electronic Damper Control, a 10 mm drop in the suspension and sportier settings for EDC and DSC.

Black Extended Novillo leather with contrast stitching sways the interior and high-gloss black accents cover the exterior.

Interestingly, it’s the manual transmission that’s offered as standard and the DCT is an option. There is some bad news though.

This version of the E92 M3 will cost at least $76.395 including destination and handling, so it’s about 16.000 more expensive than the regular version.

Interested in some more Frozen Silver painted special editions from BMW but you don’t seem to ever be able to get a hold of one?

You can always fake it, Russian style, or you could wait to get one of the real things. The Bavarians are making special editions with the star paint for two more interesting products.

The new cars to get Frozen Silver special editions are the F12 BMW 6 Series and the E71 BMW X6. A new chance at getting these models and this custom paint presents itself.

Exclusivity shouldn’t be a problem either, both these Frozen Silver are headed for the United States market alone and no more than 100 X6 units are to be built.

BMW’s opinion on the two door F12 6 Series, is that it should be even rare so only 55 units of that will be produced.

As usual in these sorts of conditions, we probably won’t see these new cars on the dealer showroom. Or parking lot, or even the factory court.

Chances are that this car will exchange hands even 20 years into the future without any company involvement whatsoever.

These products should also hold their value a lot better than regular one. Speakingg of which it will cost at least $81.695 to get one of the X6 models and $92.895 for the F12 6 Series.

That is painful, even with the standard features that include stuff like soft close doors, running boards and satellite radio alongside Alcantara, Premium, Cold Weather and Technology Packages.

Regardless, you are getting yourself a very cool looking car. It may be expensive and a tad annoying to maintain, but if your main goal is elsewhere, you should be pleased.

So you fancy one of those new M Performance BMW M3 models the Bavarian car maker has only just announced? So you think you’re ready for some (more) “Frozen” paint?

Weirdly, so does BMW feel. That’s precisely why they’re shoving it down your throat with these final hurrahs of the E92 M3 and labeling them as special.

Sure, they have some extra kit and a different paint but other than bragging rights in the parking lot, can you really feel how special they are?

If my bashing doesn’t put you off, you might actually be interested in the kind of exclusivity you get with these particular models. That shows great courage and dedication.

It also shows that you have a bulging wallet and are a UK resident since that’s the only market where these final edition version of the E92 BMW M3 will be unveiled.

So, if you are British and have a special affection for Frozen Red, Frozen White or Frozen Blue paint and your account holds at least £74.080 (roughly 115.500 USD) then here’s what you need to know.

Only 30 cars are going to be made in each color, the Competition Package with 10 mm lowered suspension is available as standard as are the Electronic Damper Control with Sport mode and revised DSC+ system.

You also get 19 inch alloys, Dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surround. The mood changes for something more serious with the jet black bonnet intakes, carbon fiber splitter and the high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim.

The interior of the Frozen painted M Performance E92 BMW M3s is also improved with an Alcantara steering wheel, Black Novillo leather upholstery, Harman/Kardon digital radio with 13 speakers and a media package that makes your car a keyboard short of a personal computer.

After the BMW M3 Coupe Competition edition, the Bavarians are readying themselves for yet another limited edition that offers little besides that factor.

This one however is based on the F01 BMW 7 Series and it is aimed at a market that’s simply exquisite in terms of high end cars.

The new BMW 7 Series 40 Years UAE Edition is aimed at, guess which market, and was designed as the car for a special occasion, celebrating 40 years since the UAE were unified.

Beneath the limited edition stuff, there’s an F01 BMW 750 Li, that is technically identical to any other of its brethren, which means it’s powered by the same engine, has the same performance, fuel economy and so on.

All these duties are handled by 407 horsepower 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8, which can accelerate to 62 in just 5.2 seconds and from here on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Making celebratory Arabs feel special will be the stunning Marakesh Brown exterior paint finish and the pleasurable attention to detail of the interior.

This is where the BMW 7 Series Anniversary edition really stands out as it is covered in Merino Platinum leather and features UAE emblems plastered in some key areas. The black accents also help the classy feel a lot.

Headrests, other similarly popular areas for it and on the iDrive knob, which is rather unusual. The important part of the mix opens up the gateway towards the first ever Arabic version of the infamous BMW infotainment system.

Only 40 BMW 7 Series 40 years UAE Anniversary edition units will be made, all of which will be sold in that specific middle eastern market pending the unveil it will have at the Dubai Motor Show.

A few days ago BMW released some teasing information according to which a special edition of Bavarian creations is headed stateside.

Though it pains me to say this I have to say i was expecting a bit more, while what this car is is far less than disappointing it sort of doesn’t live up to the hype created around it.

The special edition promised to the Americans is entitled the 2011 M3 Frozen Gray Edition and it will only be available in 30 units all of which identically-equipped examples made exclusively for the United States.

The special part of these cars is justified with an exterior look done in Frozen Gray matte finish, an interior look in Fox Red & Black bi-color Novillo leather and that’s about everything.

Actually there’s a bit more that can’t really be seen but since BMW’s M3 is about as close as you can get to the Ultimate Driving Machine you should be able to feel the effect of these additions. They are made up of a trio of standard packages including the Competition kit which reduces vehicle ride height by 10mm and includes special 19-inch wheels with wider offset for enhanced stability, standard Electronic Damping Control with enhanced programming, and higher-threshold programming for the M Dynamic Mode.

While I’m a bit disappointed, I’m also sure that there’s a lot of people out there who want an M3 that isn’t like any other one you might end up next to at the lights.

Most of you still have a fresh memory of BMW winning at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring last weekend after a five years since the last victory of the manufacturer on this track, four of which had been taken by Porsche.

Apparently BMW are so pleased with fan support of this race and the performance in itself that they are working on a limited edition of the BMW M3 GTS to celebrate the occasion.

While this is just a rumor for now i can’t help at get a bit excited to know that BMW may be doing an ultimate version, of the ultimate version, of their ultimate sports coupe.

This ultimate version is rumored quite well (which is a delight) in terms that it will allegedly have a matte-black exterior, a front spoiler, wider rear fenders and lighter alloy wheels. BMW will also use plenty of carbon fiber in addition to the carbon fiber roof on the regular BMW M3 GTS and areas where this extra carbon fiber is expected to be seen are on the deck-lid, hood and rear spoiler.

As the title claims, the new model should be named the BMW M3 GTS-R.

Besides this extra lightening kit offered by the M3 GTS-R it may also feature something very important such as KERS (perhaps from the 2011 M5 parts bin?).

We’ll just have to wait and see if the M3 GTS-R is a gaming fantasy or a real track ripping beast.

This car has quite a long and important name, but then again it is quite a car. Or is it?

BMW have decided that it’s about time a limited edition was created to celebrate past successes at the infamous Mille Miglia race.

The celebratory limited edition will take the form of the BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia and the reason why it’s coming out is that people should remember a certain race back in 1940 when a BMW 328 Kamm Coupe took first, third, fifth and sixth places at the Mille Miglia.

While that race and it’s outcome may have been an important achievement for BMW the Z4 special edition might not hit that same marker of success. Basically, the Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia will be a technically normal Z4 sDrive35is to which some interesting touches are added. These come in the form of a M Sport body kit, a set of spangling new 19 inch alloy wheels and a black grill. As far as the interior is concerned you’ll be getting some Alcantara and red stitching teamed with some Mille Miglia badges.

There is a catch to the special edition: only 99 BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia will be built and all of them will be sold in Germany.

BMW has recently announced it’s plan for electric vehicles and further more they will be bringing forward a special edition of their latest 5 Series sedan.

This 5 Series will be set apart from the rest of the BMW 5 Series range in being electric.

The car is named Echo and is the result of a partnership between BMW and Tongji University. Tongji University is one of the leading universities directly under the State Ministry of Education in China, has a tradition spanning over a hundred years and it is renown for its, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, School of Civil Engineering , Mechanical School, School of Environmental Science and Engineering.

The precise stats on this car are, as to be expected kept secret but we do have a couple of little snippets about it, it will be able to travel 62 miles on an all electric range and it is promoted as being a car made in Chine, by China and for China.

That being said though there are no plans for BMW to put this concept car into production. The Echo 5 Series BMW is a direct result of BMW’s engineering and of the immense investments made by the Chinese government that total up to over a billion dollars. This amount is invested by the Chinese as the logistics of importing crude oil and the pollution issues this will bring up when China has vast resources of coal that could be transformed in cheap electricity.
