Swings and roundabouts, highs and lows or even extreme mood changes can describe what’s going on at BMW. They seem to be assaulting us with impressive information on different levels.

Having just heard that there may be some sadness in store as the V12 engine in the 7 Series could disappear, we get some good news from the M Division.

The most interesting side of our favorite brand is currently analyzing the way they could make a new entry-level M Division product.

Currently, the BMW M3 is the first truly M division product that can be labeled as the entry level model of the brand.

Whereas the M135i is coming close, it’s not a fully fledged product and the 1 Series M Coupe was only a limited edition product with quite the perks.

There is a bit of a problem with this news and that’s the fact that the front wheel drive platform would be the one used in this new car.

Since it’s the M Division we’re talking about we could be quite confident about the way the new M Division product will end up being.

Most of the news they’re already printing out sounds quite promising. At the core of the equation we’ll find a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine.

We’ve already seen the N20 engine in plenty of application but none of its derivatives were ever rated around the 300 horsepower mark we’re now being promised.

A familiar shape will be employed since the likeliness is that this new car will be a sedan with variants coming up later.

I have to make a confession. I’m really sour about not getting myself a BMW 1 Series M Coupe therefore I hate everybody who has one.

It seems like a legit way of going about my life since it does help me get over the pain of not having one of these extraordinary cars.

Unfortunately, it’s not foolproof, and every time an announcement like this comes around, I get completely overwhelmed by depression.

BMW’s customer care services will be making that extra effort as December nears to give their customers a small, but lovely, gift.

Those who own one of the straight six cylinder twin-turbocharged sports cars will be getting a custom polo shirt from BMW.

This will undoubtedly bring a smile to the owners and it will likely create an attitude of “not listening, going for a drive” when wearing these shirts.

For folks like me, that’s just a poke in the other eye, for not having a BMW 1 Series M Coupe. Not only because it’s proof of them outrunning me, but also because it’s quite the cool polo shirt to have.

It was designed by Pierre Leclercq who is the Manager of Design for M Automobiles and it will be custom embroidered with the name of the owner.

The back side will have an outline of the front end of the 1 Series M Coupe. Something that’s that bit more interesting is that the back marking will be done in the same color as the car they bought.

Delivery and ownership is a little annoying since it takes up to six weeks to get one and there are no replacements or returns on it.

Just about everybody who drove one agrees; BMW’s 1 Series M Coupe is an amazing car, one which offers unprecedented driving pleasure without compromising the decency of practicality.

Once the folks who know tuning get involved however, things really get interesting. In the case of G-Power’s idea of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe things are actually close to being incredible.

This is because they decided to opt for a replacement engine and then worked around it in order to make it be acceptable on the road.

That must be some remarkable feat of the engineering world. They used a KW suspension kit, a set of enormous 396 mm brakes with carbon-ceramic discs and more.

20 inch alloy wheels and super sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires make sure the car remains planted and they’re all stuck onto E92 M3 axles.

When BMW made the 1 Series, they did put some M3 components into the mix but G-Power brought more in. They also included the engine and M-DCT transmission.

That sounds pretty cool, and then you find out that they supercharged the engine and did some major tuning for it. Once everything is done… wow.

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe by G-Power has 600 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. That is enough to hit 62 in just 4.4 seconds and the top speed figure is in excess of 205 mph.

So, need I say more to attract interest in the G-Power BMW 1 Series M Coupe? I reckon the car has spoken for itself and nobody can argue against it.

Here’s another moment of self doubt coming from people who actually own the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, would they screw it up?

BMW made it pretty clear, it’s a limited run car of a very impressive machine and it’s the sort of thing we dream of owning sometime in the future.

But do owners share this opinion? Does the 1 Series M owning crowd feel like there’s nothing that can be done to improve it?

We’ve certainly seen plenty of tuning kits, changing this and that. There’s even a few conversions out there that improve the performance and aerodynamics together.

Some of the packages feature a set of interior changes and some actually go into the equipment side of the story. This find by 1addicts however is out of this world.

It does appear to be a 1 Series M Coupe convertible but we can’t be sure that this is it. The interior doesn’t seem to be the same.

As the forum user cunningly noticed, the leather upholstery does not have orange stitching. This is a trait of the 1 M coupe.

This could mean that the conversion to a convertible was done by swapping all the important bits into a convertible 1 Series but not the interior.

There’s also the much simpler chance that this isn’t a 1 M Coupe at all. It could simply be one of the regular convertibles that got a body kit, suspension and exhaust makeover.

Until the owner clears up the entire event, we’ve only got speculation factor to talk about.

Oh boy, I’m currently actually struggling to contain my enthusiasm for this new bit of news that has our favorite company at the core.

More and more reports are trickling in about how the Bavarians are actually going to make a followup version of the infamous 1 Series M Coupe.

The M Performance spec M235i is coming and it will be available in 2014 in the US but it seems that a higher up model is also in question.

Obviously, we’re talking about a spiritual successor to the 1 Series M Coupe. Let’s not forget that the E89 coupe had a 135i model before the actual cake came along.

The successor isn’t yet stuck with an announced release date. Frankly we don’t care. We also don’t care about the fact that it will very likely be called the 2 Series M coupe.

We don’t care because as the current version of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe keeps racking up impressive reviews and making appearances in our dreams, the next one just keeps on giving us hope.

Hopefully, the 3.0 liter straight six cylinder turbocharged engine will get even smoother and even more powerful.

We don’t ask for much but could the economy be better? Frankly we’re just nitpicking right now as it will likely develop some 350 horsepower or more which is light speed potential.

You can’t be the least bit serious about your driving and say that this BMW 1 Series M Coupe isn’t something your interested.

Which makes the follow-up model that much more interesting.

We love the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. We genuinely love the attitude it has that makes it totally geared up towards fun, without sacrificing practicality too much.

That’s just the thing more people are wondering about. Is the performance and fun factor a little too much for everyday life and work situations?

With this new review from Autocar, the focus falls on precisely that situation. How’s the BMW 1 Series M Coupe to live with?

After all, having some fun with a stripper for a few minutes/hours is quite fun but living with her can be quite the enormous problem.

Or can it? The guys over at Autocar, particularly Mr. Sutcliffe (the reviewer) who wasn’t a big fan to begin with, seems to be impressed with its presence:

For all its craziness and fun attitude the BMW 1 Series M Coupe doesn’t make you hate it just like most cars of its type do after a while.

It seems to have pulled off quite the contrary and become even more fun for more of the time instead of runining the whole experience.

The only complaints they’ve made were the rather uncomfortable ride, a problem with the seats and the obvious nature of the paint.

The seat’s memory and the “fault” with them is that they’re meant to help people in the back in certain conditions. The paint is orange, obviously that’s not what you order the car in if you don’t want to stand out.

We’ll let them have the ride argument, it can get choppy and that can be a problem for many people. But that said there’s a lot more uncomfortable cars out there.

As all collectors will tell you, the good stuff goes fast. The same can be said about the BMW 1 Series M Coupe as a fresh announcement tells us.

The Bavarians have collected orders for the entire lot of 2700 units they had planned to run for the BMW 1 Series M Coupe and will stop doing so anymore.

In other words, if you want to buy a BMW 1 Series M Coupe you’ve missed your shot. At this point you’ll be looking at second hand ones.

That comes with good and bad sides to the story. You might get a cheaper one with low mileage but you might also be faced with a more expensive buy thanks to the exclusivity.

Quick reminder; the BMW 1 Series M Coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine which develops 335 horsepower and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft.

The lightweight coupe sends all that power to the rear wheels through a six speed manual gearbox. It goes from 0 to 60 in just 4.7 seconds and it will easily hit the electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The figures don’t really tell the whole story. That short wheelbase, the relatively stiff suspension and an attitude for fun is what makes the package so attractive.

If you want a cheaper thrill of a similar kind, you might want to consider the car which inspired the 1 Series M Coupe, the E30 BMW M3.

That’s considerably cheaper on the second hand market and though it’s still a desirable model it’s available in less of a limited supply.

The Super Bowl is easily the most popular sports event of the beginning of the year and though some watch it for the game, plenty watch for the show that comes around it.

An enormous part of that show’s appeal really is the commercial break in between. BMW participated with two pretty funny ads for the F30 3 Series.

We however feel there could have been a third one. One that has a much much bigger focus on the driving enthusiast and the hardcore fan of BMW products.

It’s very simple, very catchy and features on of the best driving cars out there today, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. Alongside, stand some of BMW’s greatest racing creations.

The E30 BMW M3 racing version, also known as the Batmobile, the M12 powered F1 racer and, of course, the BMW M1 that raced in the Procar series.

The video itself is pretty self explanatory and yet awesome. We couldn’t really say that it’s because of the truth in the message, the racing pedigree or the lovability of the 1 Series M Coupe.

Regardless of what it’s about, we’re at least hoping to see this commercial see more “regular” air time as a make up for the way it missed the Super Bowl frenzy.

You can’t say the reason this commercial missed a Super Bowl slot is because it’s all about German engineering, supremacy fights, showing off, boring tech stuff and so on.

It really isn’t and has nothing to do with it, it’s just BMW at their finest.

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is one of the best cars of all time and certainly one of the most raved about models of recent times.

Some fans out there love the BMW 1 Series M Coupe as if its the Messiah and would not change anything about it.

Unfortunately, not everybody agrees with these fans and when Global Concept Automobile decided to take one into the racing.

Whenever a production car is turned into a racer, there’s plenty of components that need to be changed in order to handle the conditions but what GC Automobile did is beyond belief.

Technically called a silhouette race car, this racing version of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe is miles away from the car we all know and love.

Naturally, the wheels, tires, brakes, suspension setup and all of the interior was changed but things go a lot further than that.

I’m not even talking about the wider, lower, aerodynamic body which has robbed away some of the looks of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.

I’m talking about the racing team taking away the very heart of the 1 Series M Coupe, its engine and gearbox. Whereas we all loved the 3.0 liter twin-turbo straight six and the manual gearbox, apparently it won’t cut it on the track.

Instead, GC Automobile opted for a 6.2 liter Chevrolet V8 engine with 550 horsepower and a sequential gearbox. No doubt the performance is of a different level but we just can’t help but disapprove of the decision to build this car.

A silhouette racer has nothing to do with the production model it resembles and thus they could have made it any other shape they wanted.

The French racing team have ruined the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. It has a reputation for being a car that’s fun, that makes you happy… not some serious racer that is unrelated.

It’s not like the BMW 1 Series M Coupe actually needs a set of modifications to the chassis, but it hasn’t stopped the guys from H&R from doing it.

They’ve taken what’s the finest driving machine out there, stiffened it up and, together with BMW Motorsport, they’ve turned into less of an all-rounder and more of a track day car.

With that in mind, not only have H&R sharpened up the suspension and chassis but they’ve also gone through the trouble of providing a new paint job.

And it’s not some stupidly themed orange paint with gold stripes either, it’s actually wearing a BMW racing coat.

Under the skin, the H&R BMW 1 Series M Coupe receives a suspension drop of 1.2 inches at the front and 0.6 inches at the rear.

This was teamed with a set of 19 inch BBS Super RS alloy wheels that have been wrapped in Continetal ExtremeContact DW tires, a combination that eventually needed some spacers to make everything work.

The new set of wheels opens up a possibility for a Brembo GT 380 mm brake kit with all of the bells and whistles that might entice.

A final touch that H&R and BMW Motorsport did to the 1 Series M Coupe is an interior lined in WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit carpet.

Apparently that means the interior of the H&R prepped BMW 1 Series M Coupe was digitally measured for the tightest of fits possible.
