The 2016 BMW 7-Series was recently caught on shots in France, with the model bing parked while wearing the common psychedelic camouflage.

The 2016 7-Series model seen here in shots will be apparently coming with a new approach in terms of design, meaning that the model will be different at the front, where the hood and the grille will be lowered.

The headlights of the 2016 BMW 7-Series will also be restyled and will also offer a choice of laser elements, becoming thus the second model to support the revolutionary laser headlights, after the BMW i8.

More than that, as the CEO at BMW, Dr. Norbert Reithofer also stated, that the sixth generation BMW 7-Series will have plenty of carbon fiber components, especially on the bonnet, the roof or the bootlid, setting the high-standards in lightweight construction and driving dynamics.

The use of lightweight materials will also be beneficial under the hood, where the 2016 BMW 7-Series will come with an engine lineup of six-cylinder with V8 and V12 units, while the six diesels will also make their way out.

The 2016 BMW 7-Series was recently caught on a video while undergoing some tests on the tracks at Nurburgring, which is a clear indication that the hot luxurious model might be coming soon enough.

The video with the 2016 BMW 7-Series is revealing the model in some camouflage, but with the top roof also distinguishing a panoramic sunroof.

The 2016 BMW 7-Series will be riding on the company`s fresh G11/G12 platform, meaning that the vehicle will make use of plenty of carbon fiber components on the roof, bonnet or bootlid, and other materials that will shed some weight off the luxurious model.

If not interestingly enough, the 2016 BMW 7-Series will be the company`s second model to receive the optional laser headlights, after the famous i8 has already taken advantage of this long-expected technology.

Under the hood, the 2016 BMW 7-Series will be powered by an engine lineup, supposedly coming with six-cylinder V8 and V12, as well as a diesel inline-six engine lineup.

The BMW German luxury automaker did come up with a surprise at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show after all, coming with the Vision Future Luxury concept, which will previewed the next-gen 7-Series, and not the 9-Series as it was previously reported.

If we look at the pictures, we might be indeed amazed of the futuristic design that the luxury car enhances, with the concept coming with a sleek-sculpted body, and a Liquid Platinum Bronze paint and huge grille with the first edition laser headlights.

The exterior of the BMW Vision Future Luxury is actually the “long-term outlook on the perception of modern luxury for the BMW brand.”

More than that, the concept car also enhances carbon fiber air deflectors along with other futuristic characteristics, being held secretly under the body`s aluminum technology.

Inside, the BMW Vision Future Luxury concept is the epiphany of luxury, with the most handcrafted high-end materials and other boasts of technology.

In terms of technology, we might be referring to instrument cluster wrapping the driver along with 3D technology, BMW`s Vision Head-Up Display, the car`s augmented reality feature that lets you see everything outside as a real-world environment.

BMW German based automaker has been playing with the laser lights technology for some time, and now, the company is bringing the technology on the tracks, at Nurnurgring 24-Hour Race.

There will be four BMW Z3 GT3 equipped with the laser headlights, also available soon on the 2015 i8 plug-in hybrid.

The laser light technology was first shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, where an i8 concept was being highlighted in order to show the benefits of this kind of lights.

First, the laser headlights offer some benefits, due to the monochromatic feature – the light is enhanced as a single wavelength, which is quite different from the “full-color spectrum” sent by other standard systems.

The result would be a more accurate and a more precise beam pattern, with the automaker also claiming that its laser headlights would range more than 600 meters.

With these laser headlights on the tracks, BMW would have the main advantages in terms of increased visibility, with the lights not blinding the other drivers, due to the “more-focused beam”.

BMW will use the head lights in June, with the occasion of the Nurburgring 24-hour race, arriving in showrooms somewhere this autumn.

There is something quite appealing to the old rivalry between the three big German car makers BMW, Audi and Mercedes.

With each brand having a similar alternative for pretty much any of the vehicles of the others, the various pokes and prods between the manufacturers are fun to witness.

Recently, BMW struck a blow to Audi, and a well deserved one, in my opinion. If you followed or maybe attended this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, you might be aware that Audi brought a very nice piece of technology to display, namely laser headlights. They also made a point of announcing they plan to be the first car maker to use them on production cars.

That is all nice and well, but if you followed BMW’s i8 evolution you might also know that Audi just blows smoke. Quite a while back, BMW announced that the sports hybrid will be using laser headlights, and since production is already underway, you could say Audi either botched their presentation or they just tried a cheap trick to steal some customers away from BMW.

Still, the ever vigilant Bavarian didn’t let this slip, and in a recent tweet kind of told Audi what’s what. “Sorry we didn’t present our #laserlight concept from 2011 at the #CES2014. We’re too busy with series production.”

The German engineers from BMW are currently developing a new technology to be used in the headlights of the models to come. We talk about an illumination system which uses laser, a technology which brings considerable advantages even in comparison with the LED lights. Even almost all the new models are equipped with LED lights, BMW wants to be one step ahead and works on a new laser technology.

According to the company, the light beam can produce an intensity even 1,000 times greater than the LED lights while it comes with no risks for animals or humans as the laser light is converted in a bright beam which is also quite efficient.

According to the manufacturer, the new laser technology is able to emit light waves of the same length which means it is monochromatic but also provides a greater intensity compared to the current LED lights.

“After LED technology, laser light is the next logical step in car light development. BMW engineers are currently already working on the introduction of laser light as a further pioneering technology for series production within a few years,” claim the German company.
