The BMW X3 M is popping-up in our news again in new spy shots provided by carscoops via focus.de, the model being showcased wearing camouflage.

According to focus.de, the BMW X3 M is the hardcore version of the regular X3, the mid-sized SUV coming with some slight changes at the body style, along with a more potent powertrain under the hood.

From a visual standpoint, the 2018 BMW X3 M will come with a more aggressive front fascia with sculpted bumper, wider air curtains, updated LED headlights, flared wheel arches and a few more.

The new BMW X3 M is also rumored to shed some weight, around 100 kilograms, but will also become bigger, in order to distinguish it from the X1. The model will receive an all-wheel drive configuration as well.

Under the hood, the 2018 BMW X3 M is believed to carry over the same powertrain from BMW M3/M4, meaning a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder, with around 500 horsepower. Apart the 3.0-liter displacement, the engine lineup will also include an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder or the 3.0-liter straight petrol burners and diesels.

This will make it perfect to compete against the all-new 2017 Audi RS Q5 or the Mercedes AMG GLC. The details are rather scarce at the moment but we should expect fresh news in the upcoming period.

Thanks to the guys from wolrdcarfans.com, we now have the have the first spy shots with what appears to be the upcoming BMW X3 M.

As we can depict from the shots, the new X3 will wear the M signature on the body as well as inside and is believed to be offered on the market at the beginning of 2017.

Once on the market, a longer wheelbase version will be also released, available however only in China.

The new BMW X3 M is also rumored to shed some weight, around 100 kilograms, but will also become bigger, in order to distinguish it from the X1. The model will also receive an all-wheel drive configuration.

Rumors with a potential BMW X3 M have been circulating over the web for quite some time and now, the model was finally launched in some renderings, signed by the famous designer X-Tomi Design.

We are not sure if the German based carmaker will launch such a model in the near future, but given the fact that the nex-generation BMW X3 and X4 are currently in the testing phase, we might be inclined to believe that an M version is also possible.

And the renderings here give us a closer look on how a potential BMW X3 M might look like. Perhaps it will come with new front and rear bumpers, reshaped air intakes with black kidney grille, while the wheels will be also wearing the M badge. At the rear, you can also notice the same quad pipes, which complements the overall body style.

Frank van Meel, the chief at BMW`s M division, has recently declared that the X3 M version was not yet approved for production, but the company does not rule out the possibility of launching it, along with an X4 M variant, as it will perfectly suit the needs of a lot of businessmen.

According to the British people from CAR, the Bavarians are currently working on the M version of the current BMW X3 F25, the sporty version of the German SAV following to enter the market somewhere next year. However, these details are not officially confirmed by BMW but the British publication claims that well placed confirmed these assumptions.

According to the first details, BMW is now developing a tri-turbo unit based on the current 3.0-liter engine. This means that the six-cylinder unit will transform into a 3.2-liter engine and will benefit from three turbochargers, two exhaust-gas driven and an additional electric one.

With this setup, the new 3.2-liter tri-turbo unit would be able to offer around 450 horsepower but as mentioned above, BMW declined to comment these rumors and until now, no prototypes of the new X3 M were seen being tested on the road. This is also a concerning detail as if we give credit to the assumptions according to, the M version of X3 will debut next year, we should have been prototypes being tested.

If the 2011 BMW X3 starts at a price of $37,625, the new X3 M should come with a starting price of around $80,000. The current BMW X3 F25 is offered stateside with two engine options. The BMW X3 xDrive28i features a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine able to offer 240 horsepower and 311 Nm of torque.

With these resources, the German SAV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6,7 seconds. The second option is the xDrive35i version which gets a more powerful unit, a 3.0-liter with twin-scroll turbo technology offering 300 horsepower and 406 Nm of torque, allowing the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h to be achieved in 5,5 seconds.

With this been said, a tri-turbo 3.2-liter engine developing around 450 horsepower will be an attractive alternative to the engine range of the current X3 disclosed above. The same “well placed” sources provided the British people new information on the next-generation X5 M and X6 M. According to them, the 4.4-liter V8 will be revised in order to offer more horses, around 560 ponies to be more exact, while the fuel efficiency is rumored to be improved by about 10%.

The new BMW X3 F25 it’s now eligible with the M Sport package developed by the German engineers. The Bavarian SUV gets special components able to improve the aerodynamics and the aesthetics but also two new engines scheduled to be introduced soon. We talk about a 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine able to develop 258 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque and a 3.0-liter diesel able to deliver the same amount of horses but slighty more torque, 560 Nm.

The new BMW X3 was recently revealed at the Paris Auto Show but the Germans already release the M Sport package, a package which will be available starting next year.

The new F25 X3 gets a new set of chromed exhaust pipes, a new air deflector and a redesigned front bumper with large air intakes. New 18 to 20 inch rims are available too while at the interior the M Sport package brings aluminum trim, leather sports seats and a new steering wheel. The suspension of the model was revised too in order to provide better handling and ride comfort.

BMW is always looking for new design solutions and is ready to experiment or to try new concepts before actually embarking on a full time commitment with one or the other. Having announced its intention of launching a X3 M version in the future, the German car manufacturer has decided to firstly try an M Sport package for the X3 model so it has released a couple of details about it (photos included).

By looking at it you won’t see anything out of the ordinary, the car is still a BMW X3, but when you get inside you will certainly notice the touches from the M Division such as BMW Motorsport seats, M logos, BMW Motorsport steering wheel or sportier trimmings.

The body is now more aggressive, the kit from the M Division featuring bigger wheel arches and new bumper bars both to the front and to the rear. The suspension also comes from the Motorsport Division, to offer an enhanced and sportier driving experience.

If you want to see the M Sport package for the BMW X3 live, it will appear at the Paris Motor Show scheduled in a couple of weeks time. The package will be available for sale starting next year.

The German people at Bimmerboost debated alot a possible M version for the new BMW X3 codenamed F25. The people from Bimmerboost reached a conclusion: it makes sense! The fans and users involved in this discussion claimed that the BMW’s X3 F25 SUV is lighter and more reliable than the X5 model and this would help the younger brother of X5 to develop higher performance.

People at Bimmerboost claim that the BMW’s six-cylinder N55 twin-turbo engine would fit best the BMW X3 F25 M version. They are considering that the N55 engine is enough for the X3 M to reach a top speed of 250 km/h and to be able of an acceleration to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

The engine that should equipp the BMW X3 M would develop an amount of horsepower that varies between 400 and 430 horsepower considering also the power/weight ratio. The X3 M F25 model will have an improved handling due to the lower size and mass compared to X5 M or X6 M.

BMW just announced that they are expecting to manufacture 20 new models in the coming years, more exactly, until 2014. About this we will talk later but for now, there are some rumors that BMW is preparing two sport versions for the X3, the X3 M and X35is. For now, these rumors are coming from unofficial sources.

We talked some time ago about the M sports package developed for the 2011 BMW X3 F25, some photos appeared at that time on the Internet even two days after the official launch of the new BMW X3 F25.

The rumored BMW X35is may develop up to 322 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque thanks to the six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine that the model may adopt. About the M version of X3, the model may also adopt a modified 3.0-liter engine developing 350 horsepower. Regarding the X4 model, BMW may develop the model of course to position it between the X3 and X5 model regarding more aspects like the dimensions of the model, the engines and so on.
