BMW Motorsport is preparing a successor of the M3 GT4, which is no other than the M4 racer, slotted to debut in January 2018, at the 24 Hours of Dubai event.

The BMW M4 GT4 is already being tested and will be ready in time for its debut in 2018. Jens Marquardt, BMW Motorsport Directo has also stated that “The GT4 category is currently experiencing a boom. If offers affordable motorsport with cars of technical high-quality and, therefore, attracts a wide target audience. We see enormous potential around the world for privateer BMW teams for whom the BMW M4 GT4 is an option.”

BMW Motorsport have chosen the BMW M4 GT4 as the new racer because it comes with the perfect structure, aerodynamics, handlings, all which can be improved and customized to become the perfect sports car.

The racer will have a lot in common with the stock M4, meaning that it will use the drivetrain, mechanicals and the electronics.

There will also be some carbon fiber components that will make it lightweight, for instance it will have the M4 GTS`s carbon bonnet, adding carbon fiber doors, custom motorsport front splitter, rear wing and custom-built racing exhaust system.

The interior will be also adapted for racing, meaning the same sports seats, braking system and pedal box borrowed from the bigger BMW M6 GT3.

Once it will be ready for the 2018 racing season, the BMW M4 GT4 is going to take part in different events in Europe, North America or Asia.

BMW officially revealed the Z4 GTLM, a model that is inspired by the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL, at least in terms of exterior styling. The livery is easily recognizable but maybe more important is that this model celebrates 40 years since the first victory at Sebring for BMW Motorsport.

BMW unveiled the Z4 GTLM at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance alongside the winners of the 1975 race. We talk about Brian Redman, Sam Posey and Hans-Joachim Stuck, who found this a good opportunity to unite again.

The current BMW Team RLL driver, Bill Auberlen, was the first one to drive the car around the circuit. If that was not enough, a couple of BMW Z4 GTRLM models will race at the 12-hour race of Sebring, an event which starts on March 21st.

“Jochen Neerpasch, the first managing director of BMW Motorsport GmbH, and BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt were also among the guests,” adds BMW.

The company also celebrates another important milestone as in 1975, only few days before the Sebring victory, BMW of North America was founded. With this been said, be sure to check the photo gallery with the new BMW Z4 GTLM in order to take a closer look.

The BMW German based is planning to introduce the M6 GT3 racing car into the Motorsport racing in 2016, the model replacing the BMW Z4 GT3.

With that in mind, BMW has already taken the upcoming M6 GT3 for some tests, with the model to be also available for purchase at the end of 2015.

With the newly BMW M6 GT3 into their own garages, customers will be able to race the model in the 2016 BMW Sports Trophy, starting in 2016 as well.

The BMW M6 GT3 is coming with a 4.4-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol unit, which has been specially modified for the racing.

More than that, the chassis has been also modified by hand at the BMW Motorsport plant in Munich, to cope with the high demands on the racing track.

In terms of technology, the BMW M6 GT3 imported the state-of-the-art motorsport development, focusing on a newly racing box, racing ABS as well as racing electronics.

These technological changes would make the M6 GT3 racing car much more safety, reliable and affordable in terms of running costs.

The BMW Motorsport team is not very happy with the results I pulled off at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, despite its efforts of getting to lead ahead at times.

Thus, the BMW Motorsport missed the chance to get o podium position, after the BMW teams managed however o get a three-way battle “at the head of the field with an Audi and a Mercedes”.

But unfortunately, due to a bent tie rod, the four drivers, Claudia Hurtgen (DE), Dominik Baumann (AT) and Jens Klingmann (DE) as well as the BMW DTM`s driver Martin Tomczyk (DE) failed to keep the advantage up ahead.

There was also hope for the BMW Motorsport Team, as after 157 laps, they managed to come closer to a good sixth place, while the other pilots from BMW Walkenhorst Motorsport managed to have an eighth overall position, with number 28 BMW Z4 GT3.

Jens Klingmann, driver for BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert, said after the race, managing to get the 6th place, that they deserved to be on the podium, since they were that close of pulling off the Audi, while being under a real pressure for some time.

The Road America event was the host of the two stars, the BMW M4 Coupe and the M3 GT Race Car, which were taken for some tests on the track and not only.

The event with the two professionals M4 Coupe and M3 GT Race Car was also covered in a pile of videos, with the help of the guys from BMWBLOG publication, revealing the two models showing off at Road America.

More than that, the video with the event taking place at Road America, is a reminder that the sportier M3 GT Race Car, is now ready to tackle any championship up ahead.

To go back, the BMW Motorsport representatives announced in 2008 that Rahal Letterman Racing will be the official sponsor of the E92 M3 models racing in the Le Mans Series in 2009.

After two years off the track, the BMW Motorsport achieved success after success, with the BME Team RLL winning at every category possibly, the manufacturer, the team and the driver championships.

BMW has managed to pull together a series of professional drivers that will represent the Motorsport team for the Nurburgring 24 Hours. We are talking about specialists like Jorg and Dirk Muller, Uwe Alzen and Jens Klingmann.

It is also the case of Lucas Luhr and Alexander Sims who will get behind the wheel of a BMW Z4 this summer, to win the trophy for the BMW Motorsport again.

Both drivers had some discussions with the BMW team about the present reunited family that will be representing the BMW team in the period to come.

“In the past, whenever I was asked who would be my strongest rivals on the Nordschleife, I always put BMW as the clear number one in my list of favourites,” said Luca.

Alexander added that he had been racing on the GT circuit for the past two years and with BMW, he would be able “to show the GT scene” his own capabilities.

The Nurburgring 24 Hours race will be held on 21st/22nd June, and the BMW team is looking forward to claim the number 1 place once again.

BMW has a killer at the 2014 CTSCC Season Opener, Daytona, where its drivers swept its competitors in the Grand Sports class and in the Street Tuner class, in the BMW Performance 200 event.

Gordon McDonnell, the Manager at BMW Motorsport, gladly stated that the BMW teams in 1-4 in GS and 1-2 in ST were fantastic, especially in the BMW Performance 200.

Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana were the overall winners in the No.96 Turner Motorsport BMW M3, but had to make room for Shelby Blackstock and Ashley Frieberg in the No.48 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3, after being excluded from the results due to some post-race technical inspections.

Jekk Mosing and Eric Foss, in the No.56 Murillo Racing BMW 328i, was the one leading the No.81 Bimmerworld BMW 328i to the victory in the Street Tuner class. Both Mosing and Foss were first time winners at the CTSCC.

Mosing was very excited when he stated that the race was his first start from the pole when he “felt butterflies” and was very confident in the team`s high spirit for the whole 2014.

BMW drivers also managed to win the 6th to 10th in the ST class.

Starting this year, the BMW racer M4 will be wearing the Red Bull emblem at this year DTM season. The BMW Motorsport will thus have a new partner on board, ready to face its enemies for the 2014 season.

We are particularly talking about the new start for this year, at the opening race in Hockenheim, on the 4th of May, when the M4 will be at the starting line, with Antonio Felix da Costa behind the wheel.

Antonio Felix da Costa has been a part of the Red Bull Junior Team ever since 2012 and will be racing alongside Timo Glock for the MTEK`s BMW Team in the DTM.

The symbol behind this collaboration between the BMW Motorsport and the Red Bull, is the car manufacturer`s aspirations of having Antonio alongside, and quickly becoming their number one driver. It is like the Red Bull giving wings to all those drinking the energy drink.

Antonio Felix da Costa states that he is proud to be keeping the colors of the Red Bull for the whole year, as he really feels as a part of the big Red Bull family, since it has had a lot of success with the firm in the latest years.

He also hopes that the collaboration with the BMW Motorsport and under the colors of the old Red Bull, he will proved to be invincible for the upcoming 2014 DTM races.

It’s not like the BMW 1 Series M Coupe actually needs a set of modifications to the chassis, but it hasn’t stopped the guys from H&R from doing it.

They’ve taken what’s the finest driving machine out there, stiffened it up and, together with BMW Motorsport, they’ve turned into less of an all-rounder and more of a track day car.

With that in mind, not only have H&R sharpened up the suspension and chassis but they’ve also gone through the trouble of providing a new paint job.

And it’s not some stupidly themed orange paint with gold stripes either, it’s actually wearing a BMW racing coat.

Under the skin, the H&R BMW 1 Series M Coupe receives a suspension drop of 1.2 inches at the front and 0.6 inches at the rear.

This was teamed with a set of 19 inch BBS Super RS alloy wheels that have been wrapped in Continetal ExtremeContact DW tires, a combination that eventually needed some spacers to make everything work.

The new set of wheels opens up a possibility for a Brembo GT 380 mm brake kit with all of the bells and whistles that might entice.

A final touch that H&R and BMW Motorsport did to the 1 Series M Coupe is an interior lined in WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit carpet.

Apparently that means the interior of the H&R prepped BMW 1 Series M Coupe was digitally measured for the tightest of fits possible.

Tom Coronel (38) will start the 2011 World Touring Car Championship with a BMW 320 TC. After six seasons of WTCC with Dutch driver Tom Coronel is enthusiastic about this new opportunity. Following two days of testing at the Vallelunga track near Rome with the new BMW 320 TC of the Italian team ROAL Motorsport, the driver is very confident for the upcoming season. “The new 1.6 litre turbo engine has a great throttle response and provides a lot of power.“, the 38-year old driver says.

New regulations forced BMW Motorsport to adapt all their WTCC cars. The rearwheel driven car will have a 1.6 litre turbo engine, with an output of around 315 horsepower. Coming from the front wheel driven Seats, Coronel had to adapt a little. “For me, the test was a good way to familiarise with the new car. The different character of the turbo engine and, of course, the rear-wheel drive, forced me to adapt my driving style.”

Tom Coronel doesn’t expect any problems with the rear wheel driven cars. He has a long list of experience with rear wheel driven touring cars and Formula cars. The hight of his career was winning the Formula Nippon championship in 1999. After that he tested for Formula 1 team Arrows, raced the ETCC with BMW and won the Independants Trophy of the WTCC two times. He is also a frequent competitor of Le Mans. 2011 will mark a new chapter in his racingcareer. Lead by team principals and former racing drivers Roberto Ravaglia and Umberto Grano, ROAL Motorsport will be running Tom Coronel’s BMW this season. Ravaglia won the WTCC title in 1987 with BMW.

Tom Coronel continues “In this combination, several podium results should be within reach. It won’t be easy, but the potential is there.”

The FIA WTCC calendar consists of 12 raceweekends with 24 races and will kick off at the Brazilian circuit of Curitiba on March 20th.
