BMW`s latest flagships to be seen still running full tests are the long-expected and talked BMW 5-Series Sedan and Touring, recently seen in new spy photos, and wearing less camouflage, which indicates that both are getting closer to their final production versions.

This is not the first time we get our hands on the all-new 5-Series Sedan and Touring, the test mules already being previewed in recent spy photos. Chances are that we will see the 5-Series Sedan in Detroit, next January, while the Touring will be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

As we already know, the 5-Series and Touring are expected to ride on the company`s new CLAR platform, meaning that they would shed off around 100 kilos, which will translate in increase driving dynamics, more space inside and a wide choice of engines under the hood.

The 5-Series Sedan and Touring will be much bigger than the current versions, following BMW`s recent philosophy concerning its new body styling, bringing them much closer to the 7-Series. The interior and technology will be also borrowed from the all-new 7-Series, while the engine powertrain will refer to downsized configurations of the same 7-Series.

We are dealing here with the latest gadgetry and safety features, like Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Crossroads Warning system, adding Remote View 3D application and much more.

As for the engine choice, one of the most expected engines refer to the all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline mill, hooked to an electric motor and put in motion by a lithium-ion battery pack with range of 32 km.

Hamann Motorsports is a German tuning company that specializes in BMW, Land Rover and Ferrari. That first one is the one we’re interested in, obviously.

What Hamann have been involved into recently is the improvement of the GT variant of the BMW 5 Series.

In particular they’ve focused on one version that is most likely to sell due to it’s engine, the 530d and what they’ve come up with something quite un-Hamann-ish as the car is better but surprisingly discrete.

Hamann’s 5 series GT gets the following modifications: a new suspension setup across the range, functional front and rear spoilers, side skirts and then there’s a special rear apron destined to house Hamann’s new mufflers. The 530d version of Hamann’s BMW GT is also getting some reprogramming for its Motronic system in order to obtain an extra 30 horsepower and you know get 275 horsepower and an alarmingly large amount of torque numbered in at 457 lb-ft.

The discrete looks don’t really fit with the wheels as they seem to be a bit of a show off fest. It’s still a Hamann after all and there is no problem with getting something like a 550i GT.

Another interestingly discrete thing about the 5 series GT from Hamann is the press release as the German tuning company clearly states that what you get with your 5 series GT exactly what you would get with your BMW 5 series GT just that it’s a bit tuned up.

Some time ago we told you that this BMW 5 Series Touring was not going to be built anymore but those were just rumors and by reading the title I think you already know that those rumors proved to be wrong, or at last a part of them, there are some big chances for this BMW 5 Series Touring not to be built in U.S. anymore.

The first reason is that the double-hinged hatchback BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo had very few sales in U.S. so they will probably not build this BMW 5 Series Touring in there anymore but the Europeans shouldn’t worry because in Europe, that car had a lot of sales.

We also know that this BMW 5 Series Touring is going to have the premiere at the 2010 Auto Mobil International show also known as 2010 AMI. Note that what I told you in this post are not rumors.

In the latest time, a lot of news about the 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo appeared on the internet and one of them is that 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo debuted at Hong Kong. A lot of big people were at the 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo debut from Hong Kong.

This should be great news for those people that are more interested about how much fuel is using their car and less for the power that it comes with. Yes, I have news about a new engine option for the 2011 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo namely a 6 cylinder single turbo edition with direct fuel injection.

The power difference between this 6 cylinder single turbo and the 6 cylinder twin turbo is not much at all, actually is pretty small namely just 20 horsepower which you will not notice and I also come with other small great news namely that the torque delivered will be the same – 295 lb-ft.

To make you understand better the difference about the power, the 6 cylinder twin turbo can develop 326 horsepower while this new 6 cylinder single turbo can develop 306 horsepower so you will probably even not feel this difference or you will, when you pay money for fuel.

First of all, I have to say that 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo 530d is not going to America, I’ll probably come soon with a post about this when I’ll have more information. The first ones who tested this car were the guys from Autocar UK who enjoyed a 530d GT. Now, the guys from Edmunds “played” with a 535i version of 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo.

The 530d comes with a 3.0 liter diesel engine developing 241 hp at 4000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque from 1750 rpm to 3000 rpm. BMW says that 530d will consume 5.4 liters/100 kilometers. I am very surprised that at 200 km/h will have 2200 rpm.

From what I read on the internet, the 530d GT it’s much better than 535i GT. Anyway from experts opinions, that I agree with, 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo it’s not a 5 Series, rather fits in 7 Series. You can read the full impressions of 530d GT here and 535i GT here.

A reader of Carscoop captured some pictures of formidable BMW 5 Series GT which will be officially launched at Frankfurt Motor Show this year. After I saw these pictures, I was surprised how the car looks so aggressive and sportier, but it’s still a BMW.

It seems that BMW 5 Series GT is equipped with a exterior sportpackage, the color is excellent, and then see how the BMW logo is hidden. It seems one of the best BMW cars ever built.

BMW 5 Series GT enters the market at the end of this year and will go in three variants: BMW 530D GT (3.0 liter – 245hp), BMW 535i GT (306hp), respectively BMW 550i GT that will be equipped with a 4.4l V8 engine developing 407hp.
