Well now, it is a bit of a situation we’re into, can you really trust the British to deliver some information on what Germany is working on?

Not sure about that one yet but there are a few reports coming in from the UK about BMW possibly creating a new model called the Z2.

The Z range has always been made up of fairly interesting vehicles, even if some of them weren’t as good as they could have been.

Building on such a legacy, what could a Z2 model offer? Hopes, discussions about such a model are about to skyrocket, but we do know a few of the ideas behind it.

Allegedly, the guys at BMW are looking into this car and they want to make it but they’re not being absurd about it.

Most chances are that it will be a slow seller so making a profit off such a car needs some serious control of the development costs.

Making the marker will almost certainly imply that BMW will need to make the Z2 one of their front wheel drive models.

Since the Z2 moniker some extra sportiness will be in store though so the UKL platform might need to get some BMW and Mini magic altogether.

In terms of engines, something more exciting was rumored. BMW’s brilliant N20 2.0 liter turbocharged engine might make a special appearance here with somewhere between 250 and 300 horsepower.

Bring it on, regardless of which wheels are driven, it should be an interesting product.

I have to tell you that from what I think, this new BMW Z2 Convertible is one of the sexiest car built by BMW and even if probably no one said this, I’ll say: this car is built for young people that are wanting to make a good impression to a girl or even to attract other girls.

I also think that this new BMW Z2 Convertible is much more sexy than BMW Z4 because all the lines are coming to together in a very nice way which probably also makes this little cute sport car more aerodynamic.

This new BMW Z2 Convertible will have under the hood a 3.6 liter V6 engine. That engine will make this BMW Z2 Convertible to develop up to 625 bhp and also makes this little sport car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in an amazing time of just 2.9 seconds. If you have this car, there is nothing more in life to need to be happier than that.

Word’s on the street that BMW would introduce a new Z2 concept at the Frankfurt Motor show in September. Although there were whispers that BMW abandoned the development of the Z2 as iMotor reported: “Everyone in the motoring media seems to be talking about this car but it’s not on my product plan and that lists the forthcoming models for the next 10 years” quoting its source, seems like BMW Z2 will have a BMW convertible top and will hit the market earlier.

According to AutoZeitung, BMW is working on the BMW Z2 roadster that will be based on the new 1-Series platform. Z2 roadster will have a soft-top that will fold into the trunk. Under the hood BMW is planning the 120hp 1.6 litre 4-cylinder engine, and two turbocharged engines ranging from 175hp to 211hp.

Configured to allow front-, rear- or all-wheel drive, the Z2 is likely to feature the German automaker’s latest fuel-saving Efficient Dynamics technology, including a possible plug-in hybrid powertrain. Rumors say that BMW Z2 could get a sequential transmission borrowed from BMW’s high-end motorcycles. The BMW Z2 will weigh in at UNDER 1,000 kg, weight being kept low by using composite materials in key parts, while Active Aerodynamics (adjustable front spoiler and intake slats) should offer high downforce when necessary and low drag the rest of the time.

Those from Automotor und Sport are very optimistic in the appearance of a new BMW’s model, namely BMW Z2.
BMW Z2 would be based on BMW 1-Series and will be equipped with 4-cylinder turbocharged and naturally aspired engines with a power between 150 – 300 hp under the hood and engines with a capacity of 1.8-2.0 liters.

BMW will make a M version for BMW Z2 which is expected to use a V8 twin-turbo engine with atleast 400hp. Also,
Rumors says that BMW Z2 will have a base price of $30,000 and will be the first BMW hybrid roadster which will enter production.

BMW is working on this project and his official appearance is expected to take place at the end of this year and the production will start early next year.

The new BMW Z4 will soon be launched and because of this, BMW needs a lighter and faster car: the BMW Z2. The possibility of creating such a model has been introduced a couple of months ago, but we finally have some interesting pictures.

There are many rumors around the BMW Z2 and many people think that this model could be powered by a environmentally-friendly engine. We won’t know for sure until we get the official release, but the BMW Z2 Compact Roadster is on its way. This car will be built in the same facility as the new Z4, in the United States. Apparently, the BMW Z2 will be based on the platform of the BMW 1-series, but this is not 100% sure.
