With the BMW car manufacturer revealing the fresh-BMW X5 in December last year, the Germans now are ready to show off their X6, which was caught in the act through some harsh environments in Sweden.

The second generation Sports Activity Coupe is on some heavy testing in Sweden, as the manufacturer is trying out the durability and the xDrive systems of the X6.

These spied photos reveal an X5-like vehicle, with some headlights coming up front close to the double-kidney grille.

Another thing that might be observed, is the car`s lack of fog lights and small exhaust tips, so we might conclude that the X6 is set to have one of the 3.0-liter model engines and not the V8, without yet being sure of this fact.

The X6 is actually the previous ActiveHybrid model that was on a verge to head towards the production line, but had to be cancelled for unknown reasons.

But the spy shots are a true proof that this time the German luxury car manufacturer will develop a more daring and efficient eDrive car with some “pure-EV range” and “Prius-like” fuel economy.

BMW have announced today that the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Series has received certification from the Internal Revenue Service for a tax credit which goes up to $900 under the Alternative Motor Vehicle provision.

In having done so, both versions of wheelbase of the 2010 BMW 7 Series ActiveHybrid join the list of Bavarian creations to qualify for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit.

The first of the special German cars to obtain this distinction were the BMW X5 xDrive35d, the BMW Advanced Diesel 335d Sedan and the BMW X6 ActiveHybrid.

The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is powered by a 4.4L V8 engine that produces 440 horsepower and a peak torque of 475 lb-ft which is mated to a 3-phase synchronous electric motor that produces an additional 15 horsepower and some 41 lb-ft of torque (available from 0 rpm).

The whole setup is teamed with a 8 speed automatic gearbox which will help get the car from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 150 mph (electronically limited) and all of these happen while it achieves an EPA rating of 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

If I were the Lexus LS600hL I’d be pretty worried, and this is despite the pretty consistent price bump which will take make the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 see list pricing start at $103,125.

BMW’s 17th Art Car, a racing tradition spanning more than 35 years, was officially unveiled at a special event last night at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.

The artist chosen by the Bavarians for this creation is American Jeff Koon, who first showed us a sketch of his creation almost a couple of months ago.

The final version is here and is actually ahead of schedule to our rejoice and it is based on the BMW M3 GT2 Racer. This racing version of the E92 M3 has already clocked up a momentous win at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and will now feature this great looking livery at the crucible of endurance racing, the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans.

According to creator, Jeff Koons, this livery signifies the power and energy that transcends to us from the BMW racing car and his chosen theme is this transcending of the immense power under the bonnet and his ideas to the real world.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place from June 12 to 13 and the preparations undergone for it by the BMW M3 GT2 are as follows, the 4 liter V8 engine is capped at 500 horsepower, the chassis has been upgraded and so have the brakes and weight saving program in order to give the car a fighting chance.

Besides the technology there’s always the people to consider for such an event and BMW’s team for their comeback to Le Mans are Andy Priaulx, Dirk Muller and Dirk Werner.

For those of you who think the BMW M3 GTS is a bit of a weakling, even in the Nurburgring endurance win celebratory GTS-R form but still want a BMW ready to take down the Porsche 911 GT3 RS these two might just be the thing.

The crew over at G-Power decided to celebrate the famed victory in a different style and have announced they will be offering two special edition M3 Clubsport models.

The models in question are the G-Power Motorsport M3 Tornado CS and GT2 S. The GT2 S is the company’s first official vehicle and is a turn-key racer with a price tag, before taxes, of €139,495.

That’s the downside of it, the upside is that it is 150 kilos lighter than the M3 as it features a new GT2-inspired carbon fiber body kit, carbon fiber bucket seats for the front passengers and no seats for the back.

So you pretty much won’t be using this car to carpool but it may have just about enough to make you forget about everything else if you consider what’s under that body: lightened wheels, a “Clubsport” coilover system, G-Power’s SK II CS supercharger system, new intakes and a titanium exhaust. As the latter are mated to that amazing 4 liter V8 engine that gives life to the M3 and you end up with 600 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque, resulting in a theoretical top speed of over 320 km/h with a six-speed (330 km/h if you go for the 7-speed DCT).

If you feel the GT2 S is a bit extreme, than the BMW M3 Tornado CS may be what you want as it will only cost €10,800 to convert your BMW M3 to one. For this you get the same power and a few other details but pretty much avoid the new suspension, aero and bodywork.

Some people are still waiting for a BMW M7 and other people are saying that this 2011 BMW Alpina B7 is the waited BMW M7 just that it has another name and this is the version that I agree with most.

You should remember that this cool 2011 BMW Alpina B7 comes with a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine which can develop up to 500 horsepower and also a maximum torque of 516 pd-ft and it can reach 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds so this big luxury car is quite powerful and fast.

We know that usually the M cars are able to develop high performances and the people that are buying such type of cars, they are riding them with high speeds and in the situations when they need high power like climbing on mountains which is hard for those cars that are having few horsepower.

Anyway, this car looks to be pretty big, like a limousine so that it is not built especially just to develop high powers, it was built more for the luxury interior that I’m sure it comes with. Anyway, we know that it has the same engine as BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M that is able to develop up to 555 horsepower and a maximum torque of 501 lb-ft.

Now, taking in consideration the details from above, this car is a combination between a luxury limousine and a very powerful M sport car resulting this awesome 2011 BMW M5.

These should be great news for the speed maniacs that are at the same time also BMW fans. Yes, BMW Z4 GT3 is coming with the BMW M3 V8 engine, thing that will happen next year. Anyway, it is still not the same engine but don’t worry, it will be a much better one, better said an updated BMW M3’s V8 engine.

The BMW M3’s V8 4.0 liter engine will be able to push this car to develop up to 480 horsepower and it will also feature a 6 speed gearbox transmission which will make this little cool car able to “fly”.

Anyway, I can say that there is a problem or at last for the people like me this car is priced at 298,000 euros which is a very big price for such a tiny car but I still respect it because it can develop very high performances and it’s also built by my favorite auto maker: BMW.
