A special edition vehicle based on BMW’s Z4 convertible has been formally unveiled. At the Concours d’Elegance in Villa d’Este, the new, distinctive model, known as the Z4 Touring Coupe, was introduced.

BMW has provided us with a hint about a potential one-of-a-kind model of its own, based on the Z4 convertible and displayed at this year’s Concours d’Elegance in Villa d’Este. Recently, the Z4 Touring Coupe, a brand-new, distinctive model, was unveiled by the Bavarian manufacturer. To put it another way, this design is based on the Z4 Convertible and is even sometimes referred to as the Z3 M Coupe, which was manufactured from 1997 to 2002.

Of course, the roof that gives the Z4 Touring Coupe an uncommon appearance is the largest novelty that the special version brings. Due to its design, the majority of brand supporters have already given it many nicknames, such as the “bread machine” or even the “clown’s shoe.” The one-of-a-kind model was meticulously handcrafted, and it is painted in the Sparkling Lario color, which was developed especially for the new Z4 Touring Coupe and has blue metallic flakes.
Additionally, this area features a unique double grille with double longitudinal bars and embellishments in silver and bronze.

Golden rims that are 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the back elegantly finish the exterior.
The Z4’s basic interior hasn’t changed much since. But we also offer a few unique features right here. Among these, we point out the leather upholstery made by the Italians at Poltrona Frau, coloured in two contrasting hues of brown.

The renowned in-line 6-cylinder engine from the manufacturer is housed under the hood of the new, distinctive model. In addition, the Z4 M40i version, the most potent variant of the convertible type, is the version on which the new BMW Z4 Touring Coupe is built. The 3.0-liter bi-turbo engine in this vehicle produces 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The performance of the new special model was kept a secret by the German manufacturer.

The new BMW Z4 Touring Coupe is currently only available as a one-off; BMW has no current intentions to release it as a series vehicle.

The 2021 BMW M3 Touring has been finalized and confirmed by the German auto manufacturer via a recent press release. The auto giant did not release any details regarding the date, price, or features of the car. It is expected that further information will be released later this year.

Fortunately, we can predict the specifications and features of the upcoming car based on the previous model. The BMW M3 is most likely to have a regular model while a Competition package will also make an appearance. Consumers will be able to choose between the standard rear-wheel drive system or the performance-oriented all-wheel-drive variant. 

The German marque is expected to allow consumers to choose from either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. It would be interesting to see if BMW gives these options in the M3 Touring model. Since the Touring models are more premium the M3 wagon may only come in an all-wheel-drive option. Petrolheads will be looking at BMW to offer the M3 in a rear-wheel-drive manual option but that looks like a far-fetched idea for now.  

BMW is expected to take at least 2 years to finish development on the vehicle. The press release did not state in detail when the period starts and when it will end so for now we cannot make any speculation on the model release date. In any case, we could expect the M3 Touring to come out as a 2022 or 2023 model. Lots of changes can take place by then in terms of technology and performance.

Usually, we see the camouflaged versions testing on roads whenever a car is near its release. Therefore, we would have to wait and see when that happens to be able to predict the exact date of the vehicle’s release. By then, BMW will keep us entertained with the M3 sedan and the M4 Coupe versions. Both these vehicles eyebrow-raisers in their regard.

It is a proven fact that wagons don’t deliver the same performance and driving joy as their coupe siblings – perhaps this is why Americans are not that much into the wagon variants – but there are recently unveiled models from BMW that are almost as pleasant to be driven as real sedans or sport coupes. And one of them would be the 2017 5-Series Touring.

Officially unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the all-new 5-Series Touring is considered a real genuine European wagon, with impressive characteristics in terms of design and interior, and particularly with amazing performance underneath the skin.

Sure there are many differences that separate a sedan from a wagon, but in a certain way, the all-new 5-Series Touring is the perfect family car with outstanding characteristics. And CarWow magazine wanted to find out just that.

Mat Watson, famous journalists well-known for its straightforward opinions on cars, has driven the all-new 5-Series Touring and speaks very highly of it. He was particularly amazed by the car`s new air suspension which now comes standard, and can cope with all road conditions.

It is a fun and comfortable car to drive, even if it is way too large than the four-door sibling. With 570-liter boot space and an overall of more than 1,700 liters with the rear seats being folded, the Touring is still a great handler when it comes to power and torque.

Speaking of which, this particular model (530d) comes with a 3.0-liter straight-six diesel engine, outputting 265 horsepower and impressive 620 Nm of torque, which makes it quite fast from 0 to 100 km/h. And even for such a powerful diesel, the noise inside is barely noticeable.

The model is also at its technological peak, borrowing the same gadgetry line as the rest of the 5- or the 7-Series. This means the state-of-the-art infotainment system with touchscreen, voice command of rotary knob. We can add gesture control system, smart surround view camera system, remote control parking and the latest safety systems.

The German based BMW carmaker launched the all-new 2017 5-Series Touring about a week ago, with the gorgeous family car being already previewed in the first reviews and photos.

BMW is continuing campaigning the all-new 5-Series Touring by releasing the official launch film, which highlights the car`s exquisite exterior, gorgeous interior with plenty of high-tech features as well as the engine lineup under the hood.

Expected to be officially introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next month, the new 5-Series Touring offers the best practicality when it comes to family matters, standing on the company`s new CLAR platform, making use of aluminum composites and increasing the car`s comfort and space inside, and delivering one of the best performances in its class.

From a mechanical perspective, the 2017 BMW 5-Series Touring comes with a state-of-the-art rear air suspension system with automatic self-leveling system, with the possibility of adding the M Sport Suspension system, which lowers the car`s ride height by 10 mm, dynamic dampers, Adaptive Drive system with active roll stabilization, Integral Active Steering system and so on.

Performance wise, the new 2017 5-Series Touring is set to come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, with 252 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, available in the 530i variant. In the 540i xDrive, the variant comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder with 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.

On the diesels side, the 520d is available with a 2.0-liter flat-four pot with 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, being sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission as standard, as well as an optional eight-speed manual gearbox. Also, the 530d is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six with 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque.

If you asked me which car to choose as the perfect family car, I would definitely go for the latest 2017 BMW 5-Series Touring, a versatile wagon with lots of space inside, the company`s latest technology inside and an impressive engine lineup under the hood.

The company`s midsize wagon is an extremely practical 5-Series as well, standing on the new CLAR platform which makes use of extensive aluminum, making thus more lightweight with around 100 kg, and increasing the car`s performance figures.

The car`s main highlights remain the interior space, plenty enough for all passengers, their luggage and some extra packs. The Touring`s trunk capacity comes with a total of 570 liters with the rear seats up, but folding them down, would gain a total of 1,700 liters, enough to fit an entire living-room.

The interior also comes with a 40:20:40 split folding rear seats, adding as well other exquisite features, such as electric remote backrest release via a trunk-mounted button, separate rear window opening, automatic tailgate function with handsfree opening and closing of the tailgate.

Following a couple of spy photos with the 5-Series Touring undergoing tests and wearing camouflage around the rear end, renderings with the aforementioned model have already begun to pop-up online.

We are looking here at a couple of renderings signed by no other than theophiluschin, which is showcasing its own interpretation of the future G31 Touring. They are actually quite realistic as they follow the same styling lines as the test mule being spied under tests.

As we can depict from the renderings, the Touring shares the same design as its Sedan sibling, except for the rear, which is shaped with a wagon style, providing thus additional space for luggage and other equipment.

And even if the real photos revealed the rear end of the model with camouflage, it is easy to foresee that the future Touring will be coming with new taillights, keeping however the same Hofmeister Kink on the new D-pillar.

The G31 BMW Touring is expected to feature rather the same powertrains as the 5-Series Sedan, including the 530e`s new plug-in hybrid, meaning the 2.0-liter engine paired to an electric motor and delivering a total of 250 horsepower.

The much more potent 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine will be taken from the top of the line M550i xDrive, with an impressive 455 horsepower and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h delivered in just 4.0 seconds. The engine lineup will receive an all-wheel drive layout and a standard eight-speed automatic.

Future details with the upcoming G31 BMW 5-Series Touring will be revealed towards the end of the year, the model being expected for an official debut at the 2017 NAIAS, in Detroit. If not, we should definitely see it at the most awaited auto show of the year, in Geneva, next March.

Following the official release of the all-new 2017 BMW 5-Series Sedan about a month ago, the German based carmaker has already sent the Touring variant for a new round of tests, the test mule being caught on shots as well, wearing less camouflage around the rear end.

It has been already set that the new 5-Series Touring will come with an improved styling at the front and now we have the confirmation that the new model will also get new taillights and some new visuals at the rear.

As for the interior and high-tech gizmos, the 2017 BMW 5-Series Touring will borrow the latest technology from the Sedan sibling, meaning semi-autonomous driving, up-to-date safety features and improved high-end materials which will add a more cozy feel.

As expected, in the engine department, the new Touring is likely to come with the same powertrains as the 5-Series Sedan, including the 530e`s new plug-in hybrid. This means a 2.0-liter engine hooked to an electric motor and delivering a total of 250 horsepower.

The most powerful engine is also said to remain the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the top of the line M550i xDrive, with an impressive 455 horsepower and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h delivered in just 4.0 seconds. All engines will also get an all-wheel drive layout and a standard eight-speed automatic.

The details list is rather scarce at the moment, but we should expect fresh news next year in January, when the model is rumored to be unveiled at the 2017 NAIAS Motor Show, in Detroit.

So, you thought you’d had enough of the BMW 3 Series latest iteration and all the news coming in about it? Well, it’s not going to end soon.

As it happens, BMW’s sales figures are still properly riding on the new F30 delivering on all fronts so they’ve just opened up another one.

It’s called the 3 Series Touring, it’s nothing very surprising since it’s essentially just an estate version of the F30 but that’s not to say it hasn’t got any appeal.

Even though the F30 has grown a few inches and its interior space is quite a little bit larger than the the E90s, it’s still not enough.

Nowhere near enough space for a typical family on the move. Sure, it can take four people in comfort with a little luggage for a weekend or so.

But going on vacation, maybe with five people, or taking a dog along will certainly not be enough. That’s where the 3 Series Touring begins to shine.

It allegedly can hold 495 liters, quite the treat. Once again, the estate is going to be the choice for the more practical man.

Speaking of practicality, the 328i is expected to be the most popular engine choice for it. Which is odd, since it will only be available with that powerplant in the US.

Now that we’re speaking of availability, there’s not too much good news around. It’s going to be about another year before its available.

By then, BMW are expected to call it the F31 BMW 3 Series Touring and have sorted out the xDrive offer and all those trim levels we’ve seen on the sedan.

The new BMW 5 Series became now something like a superstar because all the spy photographers are watching this new car closely. I almost got sick of how many spy photos and also videos with the new BMW 5 Series are on the internet but I have to talk about them to you and also to show them to you.

Now, what you see in these photos is not the simple 2011 BMW 5 Series; as the title says, this is 2011 BMW 5 Series Sedan. Well, talking about the design of the car, I prefer much more the normal 2011 BMW 5 Series. Why? Because this car was built to look like BMW X6 but the Sedan version, does not.
