The year 2018 is a special year for BMW, given the celebration of the legendary M3 Convertible first released on the market in 1988. And for that, the carmaker decided to bring it a tribute by launching a special and limited edition – the all-new BMW M4 Convertible 30 Jahre.

Not everybody will get to enjoy this special edition, as it will be offered in just 300 units worldwide. Unfortunately, rumors state that it won`t arrive in the United States, but might be offered instead in a small number of examples in Australia.

The BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre comes standard with the M Competition package, meaning plenty of high-end visual tweaks and gizmos inside the cabin.

The car`s first striking elements at the exterior are the gorgeous and exotic Macao Blue or Mandarin II with BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trim, and adding as well the exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels with matte Orbit Grey finish.

With the M Competition Package, customers also get the M Sport exhaust system or Adaptive M Suspension with SPORT mode, and direct steering ratio.

Inside, the cabin looks exclusive, first with “30 Jahre Edition” badges on the door sill plates, adding as well carbon fiber trim, special floor mats, full Merino leather on the seats, yellow contrast stitching, and much more.

Back in the 1988, the BMW M3 Convertible came out with a 2.3-liter naturally-aspirated flat-four engine, with 143 kW. It later on evolved in a six-cylinder mill in the E36 and E46. Today, we are glad to witness the advancement BMW has made in the engine department. Thus, the recently unveiled M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre is now in state-of-the-art form, coming equipped with the famous 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbo engine, delivering 450 horsepower (331kW).

One of the BMW`s stars today, the famous F80 BMW M3 Sedan was caught in our news again, while being shot in a video, with the model being put to some drifting skills as well as to a challenging driving in the mountains.

The F80 BMW M3 Sedan is using the same 3.0-liter turbocharged unit under the hood, also found on its sibling M4 Coupe, developing a great total output of 425 horsepower and good 560 Nm of torque.

The F80 M3 is a sporty car, as it weighs less than 1,500 kg, making the sedan sprint from 0 to 100 km/ in just 4.3 seconds, with two 2 seconds more than the M4 Coupe, with the help of a DCT transmission.

In the United States, the F80 BMW M3 Sedan is available from $62,000, with an additional $925 for destination fees, while its older brother BMW M4 Coupe is priced a little bit higher, at $64,200.

Back home in Europe, the convertible version in priced at 78,200 Euro, for the manual transmission version, while the M4 Convertible seven-speed DCT you will have to pay 82,100 Euro.

BMW is on a constant development with different series to be put on tests and then on a public display with the occasion of different worldwide auto shows or events.

This might also be the case of the rumored BMW M4 Convertible that has been caught in some tests twice, as the vehicle might hit the production sooner than we think.

Evo states that the high-performance convertible will be making its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, due for June 26-29 in the UK.

The German based manufacturer didn’t add any comments related to the rumors, but it is surely that BMW is heavily working on the Convertible.

Everything coming from BMW these days, is camouflage-like style, as in the case of the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible, after the base M4 Coupe making its grand debut.

The prototype of the M4 Convertible was spotted in camouflage, which is a true indication that the vehicle is soon to be launched on the market.

As some sources state, just like the M4 and its flagship M3 Sedan, the M4 Convertible would sport the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine, developing 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.

The M4 Convertible would have thus a slight increase in power than the M3 Convertible, but with a huge step in terms of torque, out-measuring the M3 from 295 to 406 lb-ft.

The M4 Convertible would also feature a rear-wheel drive with a classic six-speed manual or the more performed seven-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission. We might expect the car hit the 60 mph in 4.0 seconds.

With a limited speed of 155 mph, being electronically set, the M4 convertible also enjoys the M goodies, like adjustable stability, traction control, adjustable electronic power steering and suspension.

The BMW M4 Convertible features the same retractable hard-top as the 4-Series Convertible, the car being wider and lighter, as it uses lightweight material like aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
