The BMW i8 officially unveiled last year at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, has recently made its way to Puerto Rico in a premiere, the model being bought by a BMW fan.

The BMW i8 bought and brought to Puerto Rico is wearing a one-off body paintjob and it might be regarded quite exclusive, especially in Puerto Rico, where life is expensive as it can be.

The BMW i8 is the second BMW`s model to wear the “i” brand, after the i3 hatchback, being built in Germany since June 2014, with deliveries already to start in the US, in August.

The BMW i8 is coming in the shape of a two-door coupe body, being fitted with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder gasoline unit under the hood.

The BMW i8 is also backed by an electric motor, which outputs an additional 131 horsepower, when hooked to a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery.

What is also interesting about the BMW i8 is that the model comes with an impressive mile range of 600 km, in the EcoPro mode.

The BMW German based luxury carmaker has recently revealed the Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition in Japan, with the “green” model to become available at its local dealerships in December.

The BMW Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition is the company`s newest green model, coming available in two colors, the Mineral White and the Citrine Black.

At the exterior, the Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition bears some slight modifications at the BMW`s Individual badging, sunroof, the model also wearing the newly introduced 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside however, the BMW Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition is tweaking Merino premium leather upholstery, Alcantara roof liner, wood and leather steering, ash grain white, the piano black, or the BMW Individual sill plates.

Under the hood, the BMW Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition is sporting a 3.0-liter TwinPower six-cylinder unit, backed by an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery.

The powertrain provides an overall 349 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, making the 7 Individual Edition reach the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds.

The BMW Active Hybrid 7 Individual Edition will be produced in just 20 units and will be priced at 12,100,000 YEN, or 95,500 euros.

The BMW German based luxury auto maker has recently launched a video with the X5 eDrive Concept showing off in details.

The BMW carmaker is on the verge of launching the plug-in hybrid version of the X5, soon reaching production, but before that, the company wants to make sure that everybody knows who the X5 eDrive really is.

There are chances that the final version of this SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) will have a very distinguish body style, with reports stating that the final name of the vehicle would be the X5 xDrive40e.

With the model expected in a couple of months from now, the BMW X5 xDrive Concept will be coming under the hood with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine.

The engine will be backed by an electric motor, alongside a lithium-ion battery, installed under the luggage compartment.

The total power that the SAV will output would be 340 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, with an electrical autonomy up to 32 km/h, at the maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The BMW German based automaker has decided to come up with an updated Concept X5 eDrive, before the vehicle reaching public debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.

The eDrive is based on the X5, coming with a plug-in hybrid system that back the standard engine, making the vehicle more fuel-efficient, without slowing down the car.

We are talking about a TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 180 kW/245 horsepower, backed by an electric motor which develops an extra 70 kW/95 horses.

More to it, the motor is equipped with a lithium-ion battery rechargeable at an ordinary household socket, providing the vehicle an extra 20 mile/30 km range.

During tests, the BMW Concept X5 eDrive managed to come up with a fuel efficiency of 3.8l/100 km, the mileage being set without forcing the car.

Additionally, the BMW Concept X5 eDrive gets a total speed of 120 km/h on electric power alone, while the 250 Nm of torque helps the car reach 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.

The F10 BMW 5 Series has one eagerly expected model besides the M5 version.

It is of course, the hybrid that has just been spotted “driving round town” recently. You may note that unlike most BMW cars in testing, this one doesn’t feature heavy camouflage but rather discrete line concealers.

This sort of camouflage is not because BMW don’t really care enough about it any more it’s most likely because they know that enough F10 5 Series have gotten public images so it’s not worth the trouble anymore.

If the exterior may seem familiar the underpinnings of this car however don’t seem to fall under the same etiquette as this car will most likely borrow technology from the ActiveHybrid concept and just as that car the future 5 Series hybrid should be sporting a 3 liter inline six diesel engine teamed up with a 40 kw electric motor.

The eight speed automatic gearbox should also be in the mix in an effort to create a car with efficiency in mind. Some very typical BMW features will be the placement of the lithium ion battery and engine to such relative positions that they don’t spoil the weight distribution.

That electric power may not get you a long way on batteries only but it could give you some extra torque should you need it an overtaking maneuver.
