
BMW Concept X5 eDrive Finally Updated
The BMW German based automaker has decided to come up with an updated Concept X5 eDrive, before the vehicle reaching public debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.
The eDrive is based on the X5, coming with a plug-in hybrid system that back the standard engine, making the vehicle more fuel-efficient, without slowing down the car.

We are talking about a TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 180 kW/245 horsepower, backed by an electric motor which develops an extra 70 kW/95 horses.

More to it, the motor is equipped with a lithium-ion battery rechargeable at an ordinary household socket, providing the vehicle an extra 20 mile/30 km range.

During tests, the BMW Concept X5 eDrive managed to come up with a fuel efficiency of 3.8l/100 km, the mileage being set without forcing the car.
Additionally, the BMW Concept X5 eDrive gets a total speed of 120 km/h on electric power alone, while the 250 Nm of torque helps the car reach 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.
