New Yorkers stay tuned while being on the streets, as the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid was just seen in a world premiere riding on the famous boulevards of New York.

The BMW German based luxury automaker has recently confirmed the availability of the i8 powerful hybrid in the United States, with the official unveil of the model in August, at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance.

The images seen here were posted by Autogespot and are actually preparing the arrival of the powerful plug-in hybrid on the United States market, already making its presence on the streets of New York.

To be a reminder, the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid will have a base entry-level price of $135,700, the model coming available in three trims, namely the Giga World, the Tera World, as well as the Pure Impulse.

All trims will be getting their power from a torque synchronous motor, developing 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, backed by a range extender, namely an I3 1.5-liter, with 228 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.

We are talking thus about a total power of 357 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.

The BMW carmaker has officially launched the prices for the i8 hybrid car in the United States, the model coming available from the base $135,700.

If you live in the US, you can now head to your local BMW dealerships and make a deposit for the long-expected BMW i8 hybrid car, of course if you have got the right price for that.

We should mention that there is also a $950 price to be paid, as a destination and handling fee.

For this kind of money, the BMW i8 hybrid car will be coming in three packages, for additional charges, namely the Giga World for an extra $2,000, the Tera World set at $3,000 as well as the Pure Impulse World coming from a huge $10,800.

The packages include some interesting features, like LED lights, the 20-inch W spoke or the 20-inch turbine wheels, while inside, the hybrid model will tweak perforated leather amongst other.

Under the hood, the BMW i8 comes with a hybrid synchronous motor, rated at 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, being backed by a range extender 1.5-liter l3 unit, developing an additional 228 HP and 320 Nm of torque.

The BMW has already launched the online configurator for its i3 model on its website, with the program revealing some interesting features.

Now, on the German based automaker BMW`s configurator, you can customize your own i3, as it is so advanced, that it allows you to try any trim level that you like.

Thus, the i3 configurator comes with the Tera World, the Giga World and Mega World. Now, if we take each turn, we could find out more about the three level trims.

The funny name Mega World is actually the base trim, while the Giga World trim, priced at $1,700 comes with leather-and-wool seats in two colors, along with some 19-inch wheels and leather-covered IP.

The Tera World can be yours for $2,700 as the trim allows you to use full leather for the interior, along with the same 19-inch wheels.

As for the colors you get to choose from, we might be talking about a limited six-number, with four metallic items and two non-metallic features.

Inside, the number is even more limited, with only three trim levels to choose from. Each one comes with the Parking Assistant Package with automatic parking, park distance, all for $1,000.
