The 2016 BMW 5-Series G30 was caught on camera for the first time at Nurburgring, while the model was carrying out some track tests.

The test mule seen in the spy shots, are revealing the model in some heavy camouflage, which is an indication that the 5-Series G30 will be coming with some interesting features.

The features include some borrowings taken from other BMW models, the version still keeping the design touches from the present F10/F11, with a fine rounded design which will definitely suit its young drivers.

Inside the cabin, the BMW 5-Series G30 will come with a mixture between classic, sporty and design, meaning a fresh dashboard with LCD display and other tweaks borrowed from the more luxurious BMW models.

Under the hood, the BMW 5-Series G30 will be coming with a choice of 2.0-liter engine with four-cylinder, as well as the famous 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline and diesel engines.

A hybrid variant is also rumored, just the one seen on the X5 Drive Concept, with the first units arriving on the market somewhere in the summer of 2016.

The BMW`s subsidiary, the MINI British automaker, will introduce its new Cooper SD model in the United Kingdom next month, the car being priced from £19,450.

The MINI fans will be glad to receive the Cooper SD model in the UK, the new car coming with the BMW`s diesel engine four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo.

The Cooper SD is considered perhaps to sport the most powerful diesel engine ever to be introduced on any MINI version.

Thus, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel engine develops a great 170 horsepower (125 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque.

More than that, the Cooper SD`s engine is hooked to a six-speed Steptronic transmission, which is enough to make sure that the MINI Cooper SD proudly sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds.

Another great news for the new MINI Cooper SD is that the model is considered to be fuel-efficient, as it has a consumption of only 4.1L / 100 km, with CO2 emissions standing at 104 g/km.

Apart from that, there are no news concerning modifications at the body style or inside, but expect fresh info soon enough.

Most car enthusiasts tend to think not so highly of the diesel engines. Mostly because of the noise and the low rev.

On the US market, customers had to contend with only a few options of diesel engines on their BMW, but changing trends and technology advances will soon change that.

If you think about it, for all its “flaws”, diesel burners also have plenty of advantages. Sure, they might not sound quite so delightful when the throttle hits the floor, but diesel provides more torque. And although these engines won’t rev quite as high, the fuel in them is used much more efficiently.

Thing is we could go back and forth on this subject all day, and many would still prefer a gasoline engine, but fact remains diesels aren’t the clunky, smoke producing engines good for hauling and nothing else. BMW invested a lot into developing technologies, and the results show.

The diesel engines from BMW are one of the best on the market at this time. Better injectors and capable turbocharging make sure of that. The new generation engines even manage to increase the rev limit. So I think the US BMW market should be plenty happy to receive them into the fold.

Usually when a new car is introduced it can be pretty easy to pinpoint if it’s a good or bad car. With this one, things aren’t so simple.

The British market is about to get a new entry level version of the F20 BMW 1 Series, something they call the 114d. Much like the new X3 entry level model, the point here is to save fuel and money.

This is why you’ll be getting a fuel economy tuned version of the 1.6 liter diesel four cylinder engine we’ve already seen in the F20.

Since being cheap economical, is the most important part of the equation, you can forget the performance side of the equation.

The engine was now tuned down to 95 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. Less than 100 horses in a BMW, not the most glamorous of situations.

Now, getting up to 65.7 UK mpg (54.7 US mpg or 4.2 l/100 km) out of each combined cycle run does seem tempting and the emissions of just 112 grams of CO2 per km may be green but is that all that matters?

Can anybody really be satisfied with the idea of having a BMW they purchased for nothing other than the fuel economy of the engine?

I know people love the efficient part of Efficient Dynamics but that can’t be right. Much like the 116i of the E87, this car will almost certainly be a let down dynamically.

Then again, there’s plenty of folks driving these cars who don’t even know which axle is being driven so maybe they’re not missing out.

I might think the F20 BMW 114d is something of a bad car but there might be plenty out there who disagree and call me a poor fan of the company.

Before reading this post you should read some awful news namely that when this BMW 320d EfficientDynamics it won’t be available in U.S. and there are a lot of chances for this car not to be available not even in the future so I’m sorry for those people who may wish such a car in U.S.

This BMW 320d EfficientDynamics will come with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which is capable to develop up to 163 horsepower and also a maximum torque of 265 lb-ft making this car able to reach 62 miles per hour in 8.2 seconds and also to reach a top speed of 140 miles per hour.

Still, I think that this BMW 320d EfficientDynamics will have a big success because there are a lot of people looking for cars that can develop a lot of power while they are having a very low fuel consumption.
