Auto Gespot online magazine has provided us with new spy shots with the upcoming 2016 BMW M2 at the Ring, the hot model still teasing us a little bit before entering production in spring, next year.

The spy shots are showcasing the model at the Ring while performing some tough tests, displaying its aggressive shape once more while tackling the track`s corners.

Once it will be available on the market, the 2016 BMW M2 will come with four exterior finishes, such as the Alpine White, Mineral Grey, Black Sapphire as well as the Long Beach Blue.

Apart the gorgeous body colors, the 2016 BMW M2 will also come with a variety of features at the exterior, like xenon headlights, adaptive headlights electrical glass roof or sun protective glazing, while the safety system include the high beam assist, driving assistant, headlight cleaning system, park assistance control and a few more.

Under the hood, the 2016 BMW M2 will come with the N55 TwinScroll turbocharged unit, with some parts taken from the S55 engine, line the oil pump system. BMW is ready to release the 2016 BMW M2 at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this September, completing thus the M lineup and standing just beneath the M3 and M4.

The 2016 BMW M2 was already previewed and seen in spy shots, but some new info have emerged at the surface, thanks to a 2addicts forum member, who apparently pre-ordered the model online, shortly after, receiving the option sheet.

And the option sheet seems to confirm the rumors according to which the 2016 BMW M2 will come with a six-speed manual as well as a dual-clutch transmissions, and not the already announced eight-speed automatic, also seen on the M235i.

However, there is little known about the engine lineup that the “baby M” will come with, and we still keep the rumors which state a 3.0-liter turbo inline-six, with 360 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

The 2016 BMW M2 was already previewed and set to come with a choice of four exterior colors, like the Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Mineral Grey and the Long Beach Blue, while inside, the model will come with high-end materials and interesting features. These include the heated seats, updated infotainment system with car connectivity, the high-performance Harman Kardon audio system and more.

However, a couple of days ago, new fresh information with the 2016 BMW M2 have been provided from 2addicts, where a member revealed that the model would be officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in a wide variety of paintjobs, along with other details.

We should thus expect the “baby M” wrapping some cool colors from the BMW M Individual catalogue, like the Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Long Beach Blue or the Mineral Grey. On top of that, the body color would be also complemented by the 19-inch alloys.

The interior of the 2016 BMW M2 would also be exclusive, thanks to the fitting of black leather, blue stitching, carbon fiber inserts, along with some high-tech gizmos, such as the new Navigation Pro, multiple phone systems, Internes access, Harmah Kardon sound system and lots more.

Under the hood, the 2016 BMW M2 might pack the 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged unit, with 365 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, enough to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, at a topping of 250 km/h. All the power will be sent to the rear via a six-speed manual as well as a seven-speed DCT.

Here we are folks with the upcoming BMW M2, the model which was long-rumored, discussed and debated, now being caught on shots by spy photographers from Inautonews online auto magazine, while undergoing some tests on snowy roads.

The BMW M2 will be coming as the 2016 year model and will be officially launched at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will represent the 2-Series Coupe`s hot top of the line version. The German based carmaker will first introduce the version as a concept, before entering the production line this November.

As seen in the shots, the 2016 BMW M2 coupe is wearing a lot of camouflage around the body, meaning that it would sport significant updates. I am talking here about a more aggressive attitude, represented by the body kit, all tweaked with the M badges and complemented by the much larger alloy wheels. Inside, the model will be also revised.

Moving under the hood, the 2016 BMW M2 is rumored to be fitted with new engines, like the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder unit, codenamed the N55B30T0, developing 370 horsepower and an impressive 500 Nm of torque, when hooked to a 6-speed manual or the optional 8-speed automatic transmission. As expected, the carmaker will also introduce an xDrive version, just like the other new models.
