With the rising number of SUVs on the streets, you need a car that can whitstand an impact with such a vehicle without compromising the passenger’s safety especially since the possibility of rolling from a side impact. At least this was the thought on the mind of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or IIHS when the new 2011 BMW 5 Series Sedan was tested. See their conclusions bellow.

According to the Institute’s tests, the 5 Series performed incredibly well. In fact, it performed so well that it was awarded the Top Safety Pick, thus becoming the first model of the line of the bavarian manufacturer that received such an award. The members were especially impressed with the sedan’s side protection, as the test emulated an impact from SUVs and other large vehicles.

But in order to receive a Top Safety Pick, a car has to do more than that. So not only did the new BMW 5 Series shine in side crash protection tests, but also in front, rollover and rear crashes.

Tom Baloga, BMW Vice-President of Engineering thinks that the results of the Series 5 Sedan are something to be desired as a standard for all the other premium models in the market.

This new model, we are taking about the five-door version, don’t forget this, may come with the N54 engine along with some additional features to this engine in order to get some more performance.

2011 BMW 1 Series F20 should go for it, I mean the model should debute, somewhere next year, probably at the 2011 edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The three-door version of the BMW 1 Series was also caught in spy photos. There are not many changes between the two versions, even at the aesthetic level. I’m quite excited about this new feature of BMW but the biggest fact that makes me so excited about it is that it’s going to be a standard feature for the all models that BMW is going to build in 2010 or to say in other way, to the 2011 BMW models.

The HD Radio feature started to be given from 2006 as an option but as you can see, now they thought they should make it a standard feature to all BMW models from now and I think they will do a really great job making this.

You should know that in U.S., there are 2000 HD radio stations available so you don’t have to worry about the thing that you will have this feature for nothing because until then, I think the “community” of HD radio stations will grow and you will have a bigger range to listen from.

It have passed a very long time since we talked last time about a BMW X3 especially about the new facelift that it’s going to come and that we got new spy photos with it. I guess should have been released at the same time with the 2011 BMW X5 or at last this is how I would do the things.

Comparing to the last spy photos of this 2011 BMW X3, this time, the 2011 BMW X3 has less camouflage so we can see, as people is often saying on the internet now, more skin of it.

The first impression is that this 2011 BMW X3 is larger. Also, this 2011 BMW X3 comes with a 3.0 liter inline-six engine as a petrol one but there are also some diesel engines ranging from 177 horsepower to 300 horsepower which is quite a big power talking about a diesel SUV. This 2011 BMW X3 may be unveiled in September at the Paris Auto Show.

I must say that I was kind of missing the 2011 BMW M5 I mean to hear something new about it and now we do. As the title says, we have some new spy photos with the 2011 BMW M5. You can see many other spy photos but also spy videos on this blog by searching the 2011 BMW M5.

Anyway, as you should know, this 2011 BMW M5 is going to have a 4.4 liter V8 engine which is also able to develop up to 578 horsepower and also a maximum torque of 531 lb-ft and is also able to reach the 100 kilometers per hour speed in just 4.4 seconds.

I must say that I would not expect so fast to hear any news about the new 2011 BMW X6 but we do. In the past time the BMW X6 was very ‘active’ because of the BMW X6 M, BMW ActiveHybrid X6, tunings for this BMW X6 and also many details about this amazing SUV.

This 2011 BMW X6 will come with an eight speed automatic gearbox but the monstrous 555 horsepower engine found on the BMW X6 M is not yet part of the update. If you get the xDrive35i, your 2011 BMW X6 will be able to reach 62 miles per hour in 6.7 seconds while the xDrive50i is able to reach that speed in just 5.4 seconds.

I read on the internet that this 2011 BMW X6 will be available from dealers on April in Europe. Anyway, this BMW X6 remains an amazing and respectable car, no matter what version you got.

This is an important talking about waiting the release of a car. This time we don’t really speak about a car, we speak more about what’s under the hood of that car. Much more exactly, we speak about the competition package for the BMW M3 and as you should remember, we talked before about some rumors, now we have the official news.

The rumors were just partially right because as you should know, they were saying that the competition package for the 2011 BMW M3 was going to emulate M3 GTS but it’s not like that.

The single truths from that rumors was that this competition package is going to have a lowered suspension, 19 inch wheels, remapped EDC and DSC systems. The upgrade doesn’t cost so much but it is still not too cheap, it’s good. It is official that this upgrade will cost $2,500 and will be available for the Coupe and also for the Sedan.
