Following a series of spy photos which revealed the upcoming BMW Z4 fully camouflaged while performing different testing sessions, a couple of new updates have emerged on the surface, showcasing the future convertible model at BMW`s testing facility in Miramas, France, performing what appears to be the final tests, just before heading for production line in a couple of months.

Autodrome de Miramas in the south of France is the company`s second largest well-known centre after Nurburgring where some of the finest prototypes are being put to the ultimate tests rides before reciving the go ahead for production. It offers the perfect conditions to test out the prototypes` driving capabilities, power and much more.

Speaking of the test mule`s final tests on the Autodrome de Miramas, Jos van As, Director of Application Suspension, also stated:

“The vehicle concept of the new BMW Z4 is geared consistently towards agility and driving dynamics. The high level of body stiffness and the very rigid suspension attachment provide the perfect basis for a set-up that guarantees the performance qualities of a genuine sports car in terms of steering precision as well as longitudinal and transverse acceleration.”

Reportedly heading for an official European unveiling at the 2018 Paris Motor Show this September and heading towards markets worldwide at the beginning of 2019, the new BMW Z4 in its top variant M40i, will come with an evolutionary design language, with lines borrowed from the concept unveiled some while ago at the Pebble Beach.

The car`s muscular and aggressive body style is also given by the plethora of M goodies. We should find as well the M lightweight alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension system with electronically controlled dampers, M sport braking system or electronically controlled lock for the rear axle differential.

In the engine department, the all-new 2019 BMW Z4 M40i is likely to feature a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. The power and torque figures are not provided yet, but it could easily exceed 265 kW and 500 Nm of torque that the engine produces in the X3 M40i. Stay tuned for more upcoming details!

The California-based European Auto Source has done it again: this time the tuner has chosen this gorgeous and iconic BMW X4 M Roadster and prepared it for some action on the track. It has it all, from tuned-up suspension and other market modifications to a powerful engine that can handle the car in tight corners.

The BMW Z4 M, particularly the Roadster, is one of the most iconic models BMW has ever built, being light, fast and offering exclusive driving on the roads; but imagine what it can do on the track, especially with some extra goodies.

The aftermarket specialists have first added the Arkym Carbon Fiber Aero kit, with custom front splitter, rear diffuser, trunk spoiler and more. The interior is also making use of track features, like the Sparco Ergo GRP Tec Racing seats with not-slip fabric and lower cushion for better grip.

In terms of performance, the tuner have installed the Macht Schnell Headers, Macht Schnell Air Intake, ESS Flash Tune, or Rogue Engineering Exhaust, all adding improved handling and increased torque.

Performance wise, the BMW Z4 M Roadster is making use of an upgraded S54B32 with 333 horsepower, which is enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.

While WWII is not something Germans like to remember, fact remains that the European country has a lot to be proud of from that era (at least technology-wise).

Most of the war machines that the Nazi Germany produced were far superior to the Ally’s, and today, German cars are still technologically superior to others.

In light of this, a Russian tuner called RTC decided to take an all-German BMW Z4 M and restyle it drawing inspiration from another all-German machine: the Focke-Wulf 190. The attention to detail is astounding, as you can plainly see from the side to side pictures.

Besides the Focke-Wulf paintjob, RTC also bestowed on the BMW Z4 M new Brembo brakes, Lambo doors and a brand new sound system. It is not much of tune, I’d say, but it does something many German tuners are too afraid to try: it celebrates the great machines build during the second world war.

BMW have promised that the next generation of the BMW Z4 will shake some of its grown up, GT feel and get back to the youthful sporty roadster experience with the next generation.

Until that happens, we’re to get an interesting surprise from the current E89 Z4 as it is going to receive an M Performance version.

In other words, there’s going to be a new lo call version of the BMW Z4 M of this generation, one that’s to foresee the sort of sportiness in store.

It should be quite the interesting project “but wait, there’s more” to know about this particular car. Sadly, it’s not to do with the details on it.

What it still known is how BMW plan to unveil this specially prepped M Performance roadster at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.

There’s still four months or so until the event opens up but given the amount of work M Performance has been putting into cars until now that’s quite a quick release.

Everybody will be looking forward to the E89 BMW Z4 sDrive35iS which is expected to gain some 30-40 horsepower from it’s straight six turbocharged engine.

As always, there’s the option of a surprise and we could see an M Performance version of the sDrive28iS. That’s quite unlikely.

What has a bit of a probability is to see the suspension and handling characteristics revised alongside a set of aero parts rather than messing around with the cars too much.

BMW started the production of the BMW Z4M in 2006 and 2008 year is the end of it. There are two versions: roadster and coupe. Both versions comes with a 3,2L inline 6-cylinder M Power engine which deliveres 338hp at 7900rpm (redline at 8000rpm) and rear wheel drive traction (RWD).

The acceleration of the BMW Z4M from 0 to 100km/h is in just 5.0s, BMW Z4M’s top speed being electronically restricted to 250km/h.

The BMW Z4M’s gearbox is a very reliable one, the Getrag six-speed manual where you can have very quick changes with it.

The interior’s dash is easy to read and the weight is aproximately 1417kg for the BMW Z4M Coupe and 1485kg for the BMW Z4M Roadster.

Per overall, it is a great M Power car from BMW which has a beautiful design which can attract many eyes on the streets. If you want a car of small dimmensions like the BMW Z4M Roadster or Coupe, you should firstly give a look to this car, then check its rivals. What I can say is that I am almost fully convinced that if you drive it a minute you will go for the BMW Z4M.
