BMW decided to surprise the brand fans with a special BMW M6 Convertible, a model shown at the Best Qualifier MotoGP. At the exterior, the German open-top model comes with some pretty standard features, namely 20-inch alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design, a Frozen Blue Metallic finish, black front grille and large air intakes.

Enter the cabin and you will find Ash Grain White wood trim, Opal White Merino leather upholstery and other minor tweaks. There are no surprises in the engine department as this BMW M6 packs the stock 4.4-liter V8 producing 560 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque.

Thanks to the impressive output and a special automatic transmission, the 0-100 km/h sprint is done in 4,3 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.

It is still unclear, at least now, what BMW wanted to tell us with this BMW M6 Convertible, as they shared little to no details in this regard.

“In 2015, the BMW M Award will be presented for the 13th time. Just like the points system for the races, riders at each Grand Prix weekend are awarded points relative to their positions in qualifying, ” adds the company as a conclusion.

BMW pulled the wraps off the 3-Series M Sport Style Edge edition, a model that will be sold exclusively in Japan. According to the company, they will produce only a limited number of 330 units, each of them coming with special styling tweaks.

At the exterior, BMW offers the M Sport Package as well as 18-inch Ferric Grey alloy wheels, Alpine White and Mineral Grey exterior finishes and revised black front grille.

This BMW 3-Series M Sport Style Edge edition is based on the 320 model which has 184 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can get either the diesel or the petrol version, the latter being available with xDrive too.

Inside the cabin, the special edition, which celebrates 40 years of existence for the model, has stainless steel pedals, piano black inserts, seats wrapped in black leather and Pearl Gloss Chrome trim.

For now, BMW released no details about the possibility of a global variant of this special edition. In conclusion, if you want to get your hands on one, you have to get it from Japan. Pricing details are also not available at this moment.

BMW is currently testing the next generation of the 7-Series flagship, a model that should bring the latest and the greatest features in all departments. If the stock model won’t be enough for you, there’s always the M Sport Package that adds other aesthetic improvements.

Car makers focus on testing the standard models first but there are also prototypes fitted with M Sport Package that hit the circuit for tests. This is the case today with BMW conducting tests with a 2016 BMW 7-Series M Sport Package.

This model will stand out on the streets thanks to the quad-pipe exhaust system in the back, new front and rear bumpers, revised side skirts, alloy wheels and air intakes.

A retuned suspension with a lower ground clearance is also expected to come with the M Sport Package. It is still early to say if there’s any performance tweaks but we do know that BMW will offer a lot of engines for the new 7-Series model.

We can tell for sure that there will be six-cylinder petrol units, smaller four-cylinder diesels and also a massive 6.6-liter V12 powerplant. More eco-friendly plug-in hybrid versions are also expected to be available.

The BMW 1-Series facelift is a relatively new model in the company’s range, a fact that makes us keep an eye open every time we see a model on the streets. The star of the show today is a BMW 118d xDrive that is fitted with the M Sport Package.

As we know, the kit bring some aesthetic changes at the exterior, such as the revised front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser. The owner of this car also opted for an Estoril Blue finish, but that’s not necessarily a feature of the M Sport Package.

Speaking of the BMW 118d model, it has a 2.0-liter turbodiesel powerplant capable to produce 150 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.

The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8,4 second is not mind-blowing but it’s decent enough for a frugal diesel. The BMW 118d with M Sport Package starts at €34,550 in Germany, almost €5,000 more than the regular version.

All the power goes to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission for a top speed of 210 km/h. With all these figures reminded, all you have to do is take a look at this BMW 1-Series facelift with M Sport Package and tell us if it’s worth the extra money.

Today we get new details and spy images on the upcoming BMW 1-Series sedan, a model known as the F52. The small German sedan will be similar in terms of looks with the current hatchback variant. Revised bumpers, side skirts and optical blocks are however expected to be seen.

A more important fact is that the new BMW 1-Series sedan will get the front-wheel drive system that we’ve seen on the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer. BMW has a great tradition in rear-wheel drive cars but it seems that they have to adapt and offer front-wheel models too.

In conclusion, the new BMW 1-Series sedan will ride the UKL platform, so there will be several petrol and diesel engines.

The thick layer of camouflage won’t let us get a closer look but that’s something that will change as the debut date gets closer. Speaking of debut, we expect to see the new model at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.

BMW officially revealed the Z4 GTLM, a model that is inspired by the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL, at least in terms of exterior styling. The livery is easily recognizable but maybe more important is that this model celebrates 40 years since the first victory at Sebring for BMW Motorsport.

BMW unveiled the Z4 GTLM at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance alongside the winners of the 1975 race. We talk about Brian Redman, Sam Posey and Hans-Joachim Stuck, who found this a good opportunity to unite again.

The current BMW Team RLL driver, Bill Auberlen, was the first one to drive the car around the circuit. If that was not enough, a couple of BMW Z4 GTRLM models will race at the 12-hour race of Sebring, an event which starts on March 21st.

“Jochen Neerpasch, the first managing director of BMW Motorsport GmbH, and BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt were also among the guests,” adds BMW.

The company also celebrates another important milestone as in 1975, only few days before the Sebring victory, BMW of North America was founded. With this been said, be sure to check the photo gallery with the new BMW Z4 GTLM in order to take a closer look.

The BMW M4 Coupe is no longer a new appearance as the German high-performance model is already on sale for some time. However, we get to see bespoke models, especially at the BMW Abu Dhabi Motors, a dealership that has a lot of unique models.

This time, the German model sports a special Pyrite Brown metallic finish, a paint that is available through BMW’s Individual division. We’ve seen this finish on the BMW X5 for the first time alongside other unique colors such as Citrin Black, Moonstone Metallic and Azurite Blue.

This special BMW M4 Coupe Individual also has new double-spoke 19-inch forged alloy wheels and carbon fiber inserts. The interior gets also some attention with new BMW Individual Sonoma Beige Merino leather upholstery.

Last but not least, there’s new fine wood trim called BMW Individual Sycamore Red-Brown. The names may be a tad complicated but this does not have an impact on the car’s appearance for sure. Pricing for the Pyrite Brown exterior finish starts at $5,000.

We all know BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, one which was used on almost all the models in the range during the last few years. A new report indicates that the German company plans a big upgrade for the current system, namely the introduction of a touchscreen display.

Tapping on a screen while driving is not necessarily very indicated, maybe that’s why they’ve sticked around with their well-known controller that sits on the center console. Even more, Adrian Van Hooydonk, director of BMW Group design, said that they will keep the iDrive controller for a while, even if there will be a touchscreen display.

The head-up display will also work together with the new infotainment system. It will be interesting to see how they make all the systems work in harmony together.

BMW’s Group design boss also pointed out that the new touchscreen won’t be a giant tablet, like you currently see in Tesla models. He adds that big surfaces are not something desirable for designers, so the style is more important than the function in this particular case.

It remains to be seen if BMW will make the jump to a touchscreen infotainment system anytime soon. However, we have the confirmation that they will keep the current controller, at least for a while.

Although the new-generation BMW 1-Series is just around the corner, the Germans hit an important milestone. They’ve managed to roll off the two millionth BMW 1-Series at the Regensburg plant.

This special car is going to Japan and is the five-door version wearing an Estoril Blue metallic paint. The current BMW 1-Series was introduced for the first time in 2004, so the company managed to sell two million units in just over ten years.

It would be really nice to compare the sales performance of the current-generation with the new model but we do know from the start that the new BMW 1-Series will be also assembled in Leipzig. Speaking of the new model, it will go on sale towards the end of this month.

The new model will benefit from the latest and greatest system engineered by BMW. We talk about standard LED headlights, iDrive system and BMW ConnectedDrive. There will be the usual engine line-up with both petrol and diesel engines while a range-topping BMW M135i is also on the list.

BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system will be available on this top-of-the-range model as well as on some diesel models, namely the 118d and 120d.

Although these days all the attention is focused towards the Geneva Motor Show, we take our time to get a look at the upcoming BMW 1-Series sedan, a model that has been spied during tests in more difficult road conditions that it will actually be used in the day to day commute.

The 2016 BMW 1-Series sedan will use the UKL platform which means that we will get a front-wheel drive model with the all-wheel drive system available on certain variants.

In terms of styling, expect to see a lot of similarities with the hatchback version. The current prototype is heavily covered in camouflage, therefore, we can’t see any particular design features yet.

Sharing the UKL platform with models such as the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer, engines will largely carry over. The petrol engine range should begin with a base 1.5-liter producing 136 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque.

The three-cylinder unit will be flanked by a more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder delivering 192 hp and 280 Nm or 231 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The diesel range should also start with a 1.5-liter unit producing 116 hp and 270 Nm of torque while two 2.0-liter diesels with 150 hp and 330 Nm or 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque will complete the range.
