Drag races usually offer us a fun way to test out different models and check out if the performance figures on papers match those on the tarmac. But there are drag races that involve more than just a figure comparison – they give us a reality check, especially if they put head-to-head two entirely different cars, in terms of chassis, body style and performance under the hood.

I mean, why would you put a small and apparently a fragile BMW 1M next to a massive BMW X6 M50d in a drag race? However, you know what they say: size does not always matter…and the video below might prove that right.

Even with the visible differences between the two of them, in terms of performance figures we are looking at a good report. However, even if the X6 looks and feels more powerful, the 1M has the advantage of being smaller and lighter.

To start with the BMW 1M Coupe, the model comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, with 335 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, enough to deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

On the other hand, the BMW X6 M50d packs a 3.0-liter tri-turbocharged engine, with 375 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. Even if it comes with higher power, the model is a tad slower, with around 0.3 seconds, due to its massive body styling.

The BMW German based luxury automaker has launched the official promotional video with the high-end 2015 X6 model.

The 2015 BMW X6 SAV was unveiled officially some weeks ago and now the famous model is in the spotlights again, while proudly showing off in a promotional video.

The video is also showing the 2015 BMW X6 as one of the most luxurious SAVs available on the market at the moment, being perfect for all members of the family.

The 2015 BMW X6 is indeed considered a family car due to its increased luggage capacity of 1,255 liters, coming also with a very stylish design and cute curves.

Still in terms of styling, the one can see the resemblance seen at the sloping roofline with its sibling X5, as well as the soft curves which make it stand in front.

Inside the 2015 BMW X6, the cabin is all wrapped in high-end materials and leather, also bearing some high-tech tweaks.

The BMW X6 will be available in the xDrive50i, the xDrive30d and the M50d versions, soon to receive other siblings like the sDrive35i, the xDrive35i and the xDrive40.

BMW, the German luxury car manufacturer, is launching a new campaign in Romania, for the promotion of its 2014 X5.

The next-generation of the X5, which had an official launch last year in May, is now again in the spot lights with its new video promotional video and promotional shots.

The campaign is settle for Romania, since the country well received this wonderful SAV, as Romanians are generally crazy about BMWs.

We should also remind the X5`s specs and features, promoting thus the car in Romania one more time through this article.

The 2014 BMW X5 sports a great 4.4-liter V8 engine, for the xDrive50i, developing a massive 450 horsepower (330kW) and also 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 km/h is done is 5.0 seconds, the SAV having a top speed of 250 km/h for this version.

As for the xDrive30d, the vehicle got a 3.3-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine with 258 horsepower (190 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque.

The latest version X5 M50d is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder tri-turbo diesel and 381 horsepower with 280 kW and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

Offered as the stylish member of the newest BMW M Performance diesel lineup, the 2012 X6 M50d got its Geneva debut.

It’s not really one of my favorite choices of anything with a BMW badge on the front but the X6 M50d does make itself interesting.

If you’re like me, not a big fan of the looks, you can’t deny the impressive effect the figures of that new diesel engine has.

The very lovable 3.0 liter straight six tri-turbo version of the company’s N57 engine develops 381 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque.

This sort of performance is not only enough for the 2012 BMW X6 M50d to shift around its bulk, it can also deliver some impressive fuel economy and performance while at it.

First, the performance. 0 to 62 acceleration takes a mere 5.3 seconds and its so fast at the top end that it had to be electronically limited to 155 mph.

The company’s 8-speed automatic transmission has something to do with that and the xDrive all wheel drive system ha something to say in keeping all that torque in check.

As for fuel economy, I will admit, it’s not exactly going to give the Toyota Prius any worries but for a bus-like coupe like the 2012 BMW X6 M50d it’s quite amazing.

On the EU test cycle the Bavarian company claims it’s going to average at least 36.7 mpg Imperial or 30.6 mpg U.S.

Like I said, not a worry for the Toyota Prius but then again, the little hybrid doesn’t have nearly 400 horsepower available on tap.

Remember that blurred out BMW X6 the Bavarians released a video of while they were driving it vigorously on some beautiful roads?

It just got back and it brought along more friends to tell us just how good it is. Also, the weather in the video of the upcoming BMW X6 got a lot better.

Other than that, we don’t get to watch any more detail, dyno tests or anything of the likes.

Unlike the first time it was teased however, by now we do know a few things about the sort of performance this new BMW X6 will get.

And that’s a little odd since we’re talking about a quite economic diesel engine.

Diesel powerplants have gotten quite good lately but it is thanks to this BMW creation that we can really talk about performance.

The BMW X6 M50d will be powered by a tri-turbo 3.0 liter straight six diesel engine which is said to push out some staggering figures without any neglect for smoothness.

If the stats are what tingle your nerves, how does 381 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque sound to you? How about a 0 to 60 time that falls below the 5 second mark?

Teamed with some chunkier suspension, the new engine and gearbox should make the BMW X6 SAV quite the fun thing to drive, even for very long distances without refueling.

Thomas Schemera, director of sales division BMW M praises the car’s steering, sound and looks above all other features. Since the other features are considerable, that’s one impressive car BMW has in the pipeline.
