It’s becoming almost a usual event to see people being a little harsh on the F30 BMW 3 Series lately. If you fear their mocking or just aren’t interested in the new car, why not have a look at what alternatives are on hand.

One of the finest such offerings comes from traditional BMW tuner, Alpina, and it focuses on the previous generation of the 3 Series, the E92.

Unveiled at the recently ended 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, the Alpina B3 GT3, as the model is called, is far from anything as discrete and understated as we imagine a BMW being.

Boasting a very loud exterior we find a paint coating of candy green teamed with silver and blue striping on the side and a usual (for a street racer) set of decals on the doors. I will admit, not to my liking in terms of design.

It’s also not to my liking in being a show off when it doesn’t really have the bite to match its bark. The Alpina B3 GT3 is powered by BMW’s infamous 3.0 liter twin-turbo straight six engine.

This powerplant has seen life in plenty of other Alpina creations only here, thanks to a new exhaust from Akrapovic it gains 8 horsepower.

The total power now goes up to 408 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Certainly this is a considerable boost over any regular E93 3 Series, but it’s still not as powerful as the M3.

Speaking of which, you don’t see the M3 running around with colors that flashy, not even in racing liveries.

For that reason, teamed with how the Alpina B3 GT3 is offered as an alternative to the new 3 Series I’d say it’s not worth it. Alpina did much better in coming up with the B6 in Tokyo.

It may be a racer for the road, but it’s not good enough to win me over.

While BMW has a proper racing heritage the 6 Series is not one of the models that contributed much to it.

The car we have here may change things a bit as it represents the result of a project destined to prep the car for GT1 racing regulations.

The car starts out as a BMW 6 Series which then goes to specialist tuner Alpina to become the B6. Should that particular car be lucky enough, it might just end up being turned into an Alpina B6 GT3 which will see all of its life as a racer.

That is unless it ends up in the hands of the guys over at Aurora Racing Designs which will turn it into a GT1 spec racing car to comply with the new rules there. “The guys” are former McLaren engineer Nicholas Galbraith and former Alpina racing designer Andreas Puschel.

Going from GT3 to GT1 is a logical step for the car and Aurora Racing have taken over this project in an attempt not to affect Alpina’s customer GT3 racing program. The experience of the people behind Aurora Racing Designs will see the B6 GT1 going through some serious aerodynamic, structural and suspension changes in order to make it competitive.

This is a very cool car and I wouldn’t expect to come from the luxury brand Mercedes-Benz but we see that it happened. I would expect from this car to be a hybrid because this type of cars (big cars – trucks) are one of the biggest problems in the climate change.

As you can see, this is not a hybrid car and at the same time, it is not a luxury car but it is still a cool car because it has a diesel engine and not a gasoline engine which helps this big car to use less fuel and it is also very good at what it was built to do.

It can spread the water with 1,400 gallon per minute which is pretty good and it can also do this while recharging from a hydrant. Anyway, it comes with a very big price, more than how big is this car: $1.3 million

These should be great news for the speed maniacs that are at the same time also BMW fans. Yes, BMW Z4 GT3 is coming with the BMW M3 V8 engine, thing that will happen next year. Anyway, it is still not the same engine but don’t worry, it will be a much better one, better said an updated BMW M3’s V8 engine.

The BMW M3’s V8 4.0 liter engine will be able to push this car to develop up to 480 horsepower and it will also feature a 6 speed gearbox transmission which will make this little cool car able to “fly”.

Anyway, I can say that there is a problem or at last for the people like me this car is priced at 298,000 euros which is a very big price for such a tiny car but I still respect it because it can develop very high performances and it’s also built by my favorite auto maker: BMW.

Alpina has unveiled curtains from its new BMW B6 GT3 in Geneva, which it intends to race in the European GT3 championship. The new BMW Alpina B6 GT3 houses a powerful 4.4 liter engine which is capable of 530 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque. With its mean look, it is voted as the Most Desirable Car to drive your day off.

Developed as a competitive weapon for touring car racing, the new BMW Alpina B6 GT3 will be offered to its clients and race teams alike. The 4.4 litre V8 engine provides a forward pace with radial compressor, which has been taken from its predessor BMW Alpina B6 S.

The new BMW Alpina B6 GT3 yeilds 530 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque, mastering its race car debut. With nearly 3000 pounds of weight, the new BMW Alpina B6 GT3 is backed by a six X-tracsequential gearbox making the car capable of hitting 62 miles-per-seconds or 177 miles-per-hour. The New BMW Alpina B6 GT3 shall make its debut with Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari fielding its own team allowing privateers to buy their own BMW Alpina B6 GT3.
