You probably remember the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, a prototype seen for the first time few months ago. As expected, it was revealed in world premiere at Frankfurt and is meant to preview the upcoming BMW 1 Series GT.

In terms of dimensions, the Bavarian model measures 4,3 meters long and 1,8 meters wide. It is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline unit alongside an electric motor.

Thanks to a total output of 190 horsepower, the 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in 8 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. Fuel economy figures are rated at 2,5 liters/100km or 113mpg UK, BMW claiming an electric driving range of 30 kilometers.

As you can see, the German concept sports large alloy wheels, a bright orange finish, chrome front grille and revised optical blocks. Inside, you will find a new steering wheel, revised seats and dashboard.

As you might know, BMW invested a lot of money researching technology for their “born electric” city car, the i3.

And with grand promises to change the industry forever, what we have seen so far, chances are it might just do that.

But with so much invested into R&D, using the results on just one product would seem wasteful, and Germans are anything but wasteful. So why not build a scooter that can benefit from what they learned engineering the i3?

It is called the BMW C Evolution E-Scooter, and we caught wind of it at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The drive train makes full use of i3’s innovations, from the batteries to the permanent magnet motor able to produce 47 Hp and 72 Nm of torque.

Since the C Evolution is an electric scooter, you get full torque the minute you start to accelerate. Reaching 100 km/h (yes, it does) takes just 6.2 seconds, and at 120 km/h it’s topped. After a full recharge cycle of just 4 hours, you can get somewhere around 100 km of range on the C Evolution.

BMW finally pulled the wraps off the new i8 plug-in hybrid model in final production variant. We’ve seen several prototypes, concepts and near-production models but this time we face the vehicle which will be seen on the streets soon.

The German model packs a 1.5-liter petrol unit producing 231 horsepower and an electric motor offering 131 horses.

The total output of 362 horsepower and 570Nm of torque provides a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4,4 seconds while fuel economy figures are rated at 2,5 liters/100km or 113mpg UK.

The Bavarian company says that the model can go up to 35 kilometers with zero emissions, at speeds up to 120 km/h.

“Wide range of BMW ConnectedDrive features: Park Distance Control, cruise control system with braking function, rain sensor and Intelligent Emergency Call function as standard,” says BMW.

At the exterior, the new BMW i8 comes with LED headlights, new alloy wheels, and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic passenger cell with a 2+2 configuration.

BMW released photos and details for the new Concept X5 eDrive, a hybrid variant of the new X5 which will be revealed in world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, next month.

Under the hood we find a 95-horsepower electric motor alongside a four-cylinder gasoline engine.

Together with a lithium-ion battery pack, the German model can run up to 30 kilometers with zero emissions while fuel economy figures are rated at 3,8 liters/100km or 61,8mpg US.

Since it is a hybrid model, you should expect pretty good CO2 emission figures, the company claiming that the new prototype emits only 90 grams per kilometer.

In order to improve the fuel efficiency, the new BMW Concept X5 eDrive comes with several features such as new wheels, intelligent hybrid and a more aerodynamic shape.

We are pretty sure that the BMW Concept X5 eDrive is designed to preview a production version of the model, therefore, stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Frankfurt Motor Show will make a great entrance for numerous units and car makers looking to wow the crowds, yet one of those main actors is expected to be Alpina, with its unit built by the current BMW 3 Series.

The close relationship between Alpina and BMW is already more than popular, the German tuning house being entirely dedicated to Bavarian Motors’ work.

Just to refresh your mind, the latest masterpiece of Alpina was the B3 Bi-Turbo unit derived from the BMW 335i unit, carrying 410 HP. If that one was introduced during Geneva Motor Show, for this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show they took BMW’s 3 Series unit and turned it into a D3 Bi-Turbo.

This time, the tuned unit should carry six cylinders in line, with a 3.0 liters capacity. The diesel bi-turbo engine should generate up to 350 HP and go from 0 to 100 km/h within less than 5 seconds.

Those familiarized with the previous work of BMW and Alpina know that this configuration is getting pretty closer to the last one so we are all anxiously waiting for the middle of September, when all these should open in front of our eyes.

The new BMW 4 Series Convertible fitted with the M Sport package has been spotted during tests. The German prototype wears camouflage but it is not entirely covered, letting us know what styling improvements it received.

Therefore, the M Sport package brings revised front and rear bumpers, side sills, a new set of alloy wheels and maybe slightly revised optical blocks.

More important, we find that the BMW 4 Series M Sport Convertible benefits from an electric-folding metal roof. The three-piece top will take a considerable amount of the trunk, therefore, be aware of the smaller boot capacity.

The engine range will be very similar to the ones found in the 3 Series range, which means plenty of 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter powerplants, both petrol and diesels, of course.

As you probably guessed, the new BMW 4 Series Convertible is expected to premiere at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, an event which is just few weeks away.

Now that the popular BMW i3 has been officially released, the German car maker announces to introduce its next i series model, which is a BMW i8 hybrid sport car.

The unveiling of the new BMW i8 should be performed through a hometown event, at Frankfurt, where together with this unit will be exposed the electric i3 and the 4 Series Coupe, in a world premiere.

BMW has prepped a combo of an electric motor with all-wheels-drive carrying up to 170 HP and a petrol engine, turbocharged, at 1.5 liters, with 3 cylinders and carrying 223 extra HP.

The motoring of the new BMW i8 makes it possible to alternate front with rear wheel drive, up to an AWD, when necessary. Thanks to the carbon fiber used intensively, the vehicle weights no more than 1450 kg and it can go from 0 to 100 km/h within only 4 seconds.

If you take a closer look to everything we know about BMW i8 concept so far, it becomes obvious that the unit relies on the Concept Vision Efficient Dynamics, a car concept presented by Bavarian Motors back in 2009 at the same Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Germans at BMW finally released the official figures for the production variant of the new i8 hybrid sports car. Diving straight to the most important facts and figures, we find out that power is offered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol unit which incorporates the TwinPower Turbo technology.

It develops 231 horsepower and 320Nm of torque and comes alongside an electric unit offering 131 horses and 250Nm of torque.

With a total output of 362 horses and 570Nm of torque, the 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in less than 4,5 seconds with a top speed limited at 250 km/h.

At speeds up to 120 km/h, you can drive fully electric for 35 kilometers while the average fuel consumption in hybrid mode is 2,5liters/100km or 94mpg US.

The German model needs three hours for a complete charge with a standard outlet while the BMW i Wallbox does the same job in just two hours.

The impressive performance is also possible thanks to the model’s drag coefficient of 0.26 and due to the lightweight CFRP cell, magnesium instrument panel supports and aluminum components.

We finally get an official word from BMW on the highly anticipated i8 plug-in hybrid sports car, a model which is confirmed to debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

With the new BMW i3 revealed few days ago, it’s bigger and more powerful brother, the i8, will share the Frankfurt stage as well.

Under the hood, expect to see a three-cylinder petrol unit alongside an electric motor with an output of 170 horsepower and 250Nm of torque.

An all-electric driving range of 35 kilometers is expected with fuel economy figures of 3 liters/100km or 94,1mpg UK. The 0-100 km/h acceleration will be possible in less than five seconds.

It is really nice to see that we will finally get a complete look at the production version of the BMW i8 later this year, at Frankfurt. The model is scheduled to go on sale in the first months of 2014.

The soon coming new BMW i3 unit is widely expected by numerous fans of the famous German car maker.

While we all got used with the fact that we shall wait until September for having the chance to officially meet the electric BMW i3, good news keep coming back to us!

According to the BMW i3 team, our suspense will be a little bit shortened, provided that they are planning to launch their official presentation at the end of this month, on 29th of July to be more precise.

If you were thinking that you already know everything there is to know about the new BMW i3, think again! Rumors say that once entered on the production line, the unit will be at least slightly different from the one presented through all these teasers.

For instance, the elegantly round shaped lines of the rooftop together with the semi-transparent doors of the BMW i3 concept will not necessarily become a reality.

The only thing left for us is to wait until the end of this month and see whether the official presentation of BMW i3 will perfectly match or not with everything we were told so far!
