With the gorgeous BMW M2 Coupe rocking the boat for almost a year know, some have already agreed that it is too early for the M2 to come up with a mid-life cycle model, also known as the LCI, while others think that a long-rumored CS might not be in the works without first updating the current model.

Either way, here we are with the first spy photos of what seem to be the future ….what? We surely don’t know, in fact nobody knows what to think about the below test mule.

What we do know is that is the test mule is coming covered with camouflage around the front bumper, covering the fake air vents, which might be a suited job for a facelifted variant. Or it can be as well the new CS, which would also bring just a bunch of visuals yet an impressive power boost under the hood.

The test mule seen here looks extremely hot and aggressive at the same time, with the front apron visibly changed, with much more advanced aerodynamics that would allow for better air flow. It might end up eventually with new circular air intake as the CSL version of the E46 M3.

Besides that, there are the taillights at the rear end, also camouflaged, which in our humble guess might receive OLED, like in the M4 GTS.

Speaking of power, there are two possibility. 1. In case this would make it the facelifted version of the current M2 Coupe, rumored to come out in 2018, then it would receive an improved powertrain of the 2017 BMW M240i – the all new B48 turbocharged straight-six with more than 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

2. If this is indeed the future M2 CS, than our bet would be on the rumored S55 twin-turbocharged six-cylinder, the same one found on the present M3 and M4, but with more than 400 horsepower on board. Stay tuned for some enlightenment in the upcoming period!

Here is another impressive tuning package added to the same baby-M, which we considered that it is worthy of our attention and appreciation.

We now have the first photos and details with this astonishing BMW M2 Coupe, created by German shop Aulitzky Tuning, the model feeling extremely powerful with the new power kit. It has also received a bunch of new interior tweaks and mechanics.

Except for the few add-ons at the exterior, like new front bumper, carbon fiber rear spoiler lip and the Yido Performance wheels, this baby here is a powerful creation, thanks to the new technical stuff added underneath the hood.

The interior has also received some slight modifications, like Alcantara cover on the steering wheel or the Recaro seats with light-seat covers. Otherwise, this baby-M packs the usual M stuff all around the cabin.

This BMW M2 Coupe comes with the same S55 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine but is now developing impressive performance. That was possible thanks to the new turbochargers, carbon intake and downpipes, along with the Remus exhaust system and water-methanol injection.

Other than that, the technicians from Aulitzky Tuning shop have also installed a high-performance transmission from the M4 GTS and the KW Clubsport gear. The car`s new power is indeed breathtaking – 620 horsepower and whopping 850 horsepower, way too much from the stock 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.

In case you find yourself in a tough spot and don`t know what to choose between the gorgeous BMW M2 Coupe and the Porsche 718 Cayman S, then you definetely have got to see the video below with both model being reviewed by Piston Heads.

I know it`s a tough call, as both models come with exceptional design and advanced aerodynamics and mechanics, not to mention the powertrains under the hood. But even so, there are features that set them apart. We will try highlighting the most important ones and let the video do the rest.

Visually, both models are genuine athletes, coming with lightweight chassis which make them extremely fast and agile, and both use the latest techniques and mechanics.

In terms of performance, the BMW M2 Coupe uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine, with 365 horsepwoer and 343 lb-of torque, while the 718 Cayman S comes with a brand-new turbocharged flat-four engine, with 350 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

And even if the M2`s engine comes with higher power and torque, this does not necessarily means it is faster than the Cayman, especially since the latter come with the latest technology in terms of powertrain. It uses a mid-engine, is more lightweight and comes with better sprint.

And on the track, the Porsche 718 Cayman S has really demonstrated that it is faster than the M2 Coupe. It managed to run the whole track lap in 1:11.1, while the M2 Coupe was a little bit slower with 1:13:5.

As for prices, the BMW M2 Coupe is much cheaper than the 718 Cayman S, yet, according to its driver in the video, it is much fun to drive than the Porsche model. As for your personal opinion, is up to you to decide which one is the real winner. Enjoy the video!

The BMW M2 Coupe and the Porsche 918 Boxster S are two extraordinary sports cars that can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in blink of an eye, especially because of their small chassis and improved aerodynamics.

Recently, both models were engaged into a drag race, highlighted in the video below. The video was put together by CarMagazine in what they call the annual “Performance Shootout”, illustrating thus the raw power of the two models.Before jumping into the wrong conclusions and placing your bets on one of the model, just take a closer look at what each car has to offer in terms of performance.

To start with the BMW M2 Coupe, the carmaker`s “baby-M” and the preferred one for dozens of tuning companies worldwide, comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six engine underneath its skin, capable of squeezing out 365 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, and being sent to the rear via a seven-speed DCT.

It can deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a blasting 4.4 seconds, at a top speed of 250 km/h. Otherwise, the model comes fitted with the M Performance Parts at the exterior, which also increase its agility and driving dynamics.

On the other hand, the Boxster 718 Boxster S in its latest generation uses the brand-new 2.5-liter flat-four turbocharged pot, churning out 345 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, with a 4.5 seconds achieved from 0 to 100 km/h, via a conventional automatic transmission.

However, if fitted with the optional Sport Chrono package and the high-performance PDK transmission, the sports car is able to deliver the same sprint in a blasting 4.2 seconds. The car`s main advantage is that it is around 150 kg much more lightweight than the M2 Coupe, a real deal that can make the difference in a drag race with the right driver behind the steering.

The baby-M seen below is perhaps the best example of how BMW should have built it the first place; it looks extremely appealing and mind-blowing with the complete M Performance kit.

The standout model was recently displayed at BMW`s special Abu Dhabi dealership, which is the perfect place to make room for the hundreds of custom-built German cars.

As for our M2 Coupe in question, the model can be admired in a splendid media gallery, wearing the gorgeous and hot-looking Alpine White with the M stripes on the kidney grilles, adding as well a full M Performance carbon fiber kit.

The model looks mind-blowing and exceptional sexy with the plethora of new body elements, like carbon fiber mirrors, gloss black side flasher covers, or the carbon fiber rear diffuser. As expected, this particular model has also been fitted with the high-performance Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system which increases the car`s engine soundtrack.

The overall carbon fiber aero kit is complemented as well with the M alloy wheels, which make it even more aggressive and increase its riding stance.

As far as the engine goes, there aren`t any modifications announced, at least not for now, meaning that the BMW M2 Coupe still keeps the stock yet high-performance 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, with 370 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

iND Distribution tuning company from Chicago, US, is well-known for their project when dealing with BMW products, and the company`s new baby-M, the no other than the M2 Coupe, is the latest star to receive outstanding aero kits and new wheels.

The project seen below has received the tuner`s “standard” carbon fiber components at the exterior, adding new mechanics and new set of wheels, courtesy of BBS Wheels, another important aftermarket company in the wheel industry.

From the start, the model is standing out from the crowd with carbon fiber front lip, gloss black side gills and diffuser, gloss black kidney grille surrounds, carbon fiber rear spoiler as well as the matte black M2 badge.
The overall aero kit is complemented with the BBS wheels, which increase the car`s personality and provide greater stance. The stance is also enhanced by the new mechanics.

We are looking here at the Fall Line suspension system, provided by Fall Line Motorsports shop itself, adding front spherical bearings, rear toe adjustment arms, rear upper control arm spherical bearings, camber shims, as well as adjustable swat bar links.

In the stock version, the M2 Coupe wears the signature of the M Performance Parts both outside as well as inside, while under the hood, the model comes with a high-performance 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline flat-six engine, with 370 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque. This is enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds with a DCT and 4.5 seconds with the manual.

I can`t recall seeing an M2 Coupe wearing a convertible styling before, and I have to admit that Dahler`s new tuning program on this gorgeous baby-M brother looks fabulous.

When I first saw the photos released by the German tuner I thought these are just a bunch of renderings meant to provide us an imagery exercise of what the German carmaker should have done a long time ago: an M2 Convertible.

And by-the-way, the tuner`s creation looks fabulous. It`s more sexy and appealing, more aggressive and inciting for long and endless rides during summer. That makes it perfect for young couples wanting to feel free in the hot-burning days.

There was no need for any modifications to the car`s body styling, the M2 already looking stylish with the plethora of M parts. All the technicians had to do was strip it off its hard top and add a few mechanics that would make it more performance as well.

Amongst the car`s top features we should mention the stainless steel exhaust system, bigger brakes with 400 millimeter discs and eight-piston calipers, adjustable sports suspension system with 16 settings, and two significant power stages under the hood.

Speaking about performance, the aftermarket specialists from Dahler tuner have also added the Stage 1 kit, meaning 408 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque, providing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, at a top speed of 4290 km/h.

Stage 2 power kit comes with 425 horsepower and impressive 610 Nm of torque, for a top speed of 300 km/h. The performance figure has not been provided, but we expect around 3.9 seconds. The good news is that the tuner is also working on retuning an M4 engine, which would perfectly fit underneath the M2`s bonnet.

Ever since unveiling on the market last year, the 2016 BMW M2 Coupe has become the most hunted-down BMW model in the tuning industry, the baby-M brother receiving hundreds of outstanding aftermarket programs.

The model is already fitted with M Performance Parts, which makes it even more outstanding and appreciated, but its well-proportioned body styling also allows for further customizations, which sometimes might turn it into something unrecognizable.

It is also the case of this BMW M2 Coupe which has recently received the outstanding and extremely wide GTS body kit, which is borrowed from its older sibling, the BMW M4.

The resemblance with the BMW M4 might be quite striking if not strange, the new kit making the M2 Coupe a far-fetched. Even so, I personally love the way it turned out, making it more aggressive and standout.

In the engine department, the BMW M2 Coupe already looks menacing with the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, with 3470 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. But with the new ECU remapping from Evolve Automotive, the model is now developing 400 horsepower.

Besides the small power boost, the model looks fabulous with the new GTS kit, with the body parts provided by CarbonFiber Dynamics, another important tuner.

The most important parts refer to the front bumper housing a large front splitter, providing more downforce and increasing the car`s air flow, GTS adjustable rear wing, carbon fiber rear diffuser insert on the bumper, carbon fiber hood and roof, Eventuri carbon fiber engine cover, orange Kevlar intake system, as well as a bespoke exhaust system. The overall design is complemented with the new alloy wheels.

The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe is ending up in our news again, this time the model receiving a complete Hamann kit by DS Auto Automobile tuning company. Even so, it does come with a few tweaks from the Swiss-based aftermarket shop.

From a visual standpoint, the Hamann BMW M2 Coupe comes with a more aggressive body styling, highlighted by the new wider front, extra wingtips on the rear wheel arches, along with bespoke rear spoiler, or diffuser with new carbon-fiber tailpipes and finished in silver or black.

As expected, the Hamann`s Evo Anniversary alloy wheels couldn’t have missed from the scenery and improve the car`s aggressive look.

The car`s main ingredient remains under the hood, the 2016 BMW M2 Coupe has received a power boost of 50 horsepower and 65 Nm of torque, all squeezed from the same 3.0-liter straight-six turbo engine.

This allows a total of 420 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque, which is quite impressive than the stock 370 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is thus carried out in 4.2 seconds, achieved with a six-speed manual transmission, or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

AC Schnitzer`s dedication towards building the most impressive and powerful BMW products stands in the hundreds of special tuning programs carried out mostly on M3, M4, X5 or X6. And in case you were wondering what happened to the M2 Coupe, then we intentionally left the model at the end.

Just recently and thanks to bmwblog.com, the AC Schnitzer has demonstrated that the M2 Coupe can be, and in fact it is the fastest M2 on the Sachsenring, and that because of the plethora of advanced mechanics and the tuner`s years of experience in the business.

In fact, the video below released by the tuner is called the “Fastest BMW M2 on the Sachsenring”, the model managing a lap time of just 1:32:9 minutes.

There are a lot of mechanics that helped to achieved such an impressive lap time, which actually brings it closer to the Porsche 911 Turbo, with 1:30:34 minutes.

First of all, the model comes with a power upgrade that raises its power to 420 horsepower and an impressive 580 Nm of torque, the tuner offering as well a 2-year warranty for the power kit.

Second, the technicians have installed a lot of high-performance parts, like adjustable RS coilover suspension system which adjusts the car`s ride height, 20-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels, carbon fiber aerodynamics which provide the model with the perfect downforce and a lot of other accessories that make it perfect for the track.
