It seems that the Bavarians from BMW are planning to introduce a refreshed version of the current 7 Series (F01), a facelift model not a new generation but however a lot of things changed in the last few years. thus, a 7 Series with some present technology and improvements has its place in the current range.

At the exterior, the facelift version of German flagship gets some revised optical blocks with LED lights, an expectable improvement considering that we talk about a 2012 model, a new set of alloy wheels and also revised front and rear bumpers should be on the list.

In these first spy shots just the optical blocks are wearing a thick camouflage layer but we assume to see more new parts, of course, camouflaged, on the following prototypes that will undergo test sessions.

As under the bonnet, power will be provided by almost the same engine range but also few new entries are expected. However, it’s still too early to discuss technical details as the German model is expected to debut in about the same period but next year.

At the beginning of this month the Swiss tuners from Mansory previewed the new tuning kit developed for the current generation 7 Series. Mansory offers performance upgrades for both 750i and 760Li versions of the Bavarian flagship.

Together with the additional horsepower under the bonnet, the German model gets exterior and interior tweaks which improve the appearance without any doubt. To start with, the BMW 750i F01 gets a new sport air filter and remapped ECU unit, expected modifications that manage to rise the power to 490 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque.

If you wish for more power, you can pick the revised version of 760Li F01, the model developing no less than 640 horsepower and 920 Nm of torque, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h being available in just 4,2 seconds. On the aesthetics, you get 22-inch alloy wheels an aerodynamic bodykit featuring a carbon fiber front grille, LED lights, a rear wing and revised front and rear bumpers.

Entering the cabin, expect high quality materials including wood trim and leather but also stylish carbon fiber trim and a new sport steering wheel. Check the photo gallery to make a complete idea on the new Swiss tuning package.

The Swiss people from Mansory considered to give us a preview of the new tuning package specially designed for the latest 7 Series generation, known by most of us as F01.

The German flagship model benefits now from an improved appearance through a set of new alloy wheels, a revised front grille which keep its original shape but gets some vertical bars, a new front bumper including air intakes and also daytime running LED lights placed on each side of the front bumper.

Mansory also offers front and rear spoilers for the new tuning package, components made of carbon fiber same as the revised grille. Mostly, this is what we can tell you about the exterior tweaks. Unfortunately, we can’t relate to the interior improvements as the Swiss tuner decided to keep the mystery for a while.

The same situation occurs when talking about the performance upgrades, there aren’t any official details regarding the improvements made under the bonnet. Actually, the tweaks available under the hood are not that important as the new achievement and figures are. It seems that the Detroit Auto Show brings also some strange happenings as a group of thieves managed to stole a BMW 7 Series model, the BMW 750Li more exactly, in a moment of careless, the model being left opened and with the keys inside.

The case happened somewhere near Westin Book Cadillac hotel were the Germans from BMW were loading the model into a transport truck, one of the workers left the model probably with the engine functioning and after he returned to the vehicle, few seconds later, it wasn’t there anymore.

Even the German model benefits from the BMW Assist system which helps finding the vehicle, the thieves probably knew that and stopped the engine as soon as possible in order to disable the system. The license plate of the model is ZXY 19R but this won’t be something useful anymore as the thieves probably removed them, especially considering that they managed to neutralize the BMW Assist system. The American police claims that the model could be used for spare parts.
