The almighty BMW M4 Coupe is popping-up in our news again, this time the model getting completely crushed in South Africa.

We are talking here about a terrible road accident, taking place in Klerksorp, South Africa, where the BMW M4 Coupe`s driver apparently lost control of the car and ended up on the side road. Luckily, the driver wasn`t hurt, but he was immediately rushed to the hospital.

I fell it is my job to warn all drivers that own such a model, as the BMW M4 Coupe is a nasty mean machine and obsessive care must be carried out when handling it on the roads.

Speaking about power, we have to remind you that the BMW M4 Coupe is fitted with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder unit, which outputs an impressive 431 horsepower and a good 550 Nm of torque.

Handled correctly, the M4 Coupe can reach the 100 km/h straight line in just 4.1 seconds, and that at a top speed, electronically limited, of 250 km/h. Not to mention the raised 288 km/h top speed, when fitted with the M Driver`s Package.

So don`t forget to respect the extraordinary BMW M4 Coupe and it will respect you back.

The F10 BMW chassis has recently had its second major accident. Whereas last time an M5 starred in the game and the passengers survived, this time things were less encouraging by the end.

It was an F10 5 Series prototype (most likely one with some sort of new hybrid tech on board) that was being put through its paces on the Autobahn.

Behind the wheel sat one of BMW’s test drivers, a very experienced chap who’s 45 years old. Unfortunately, not even his experience could help.

As he was pushing the hybrid 5 Series to its limit on the A92 near BMW’s Dingolfing factory a truck pulled out in front of him making impact inevitable.

Sadly, due to the high contact speed, the F10 BMW 5 Series car that was tested hit the rear trailer and effectively destroyed itself.

We’re guessing BMW won’t be selling anything off this car since there doesn’t appear to be anything worth saving from it after the incident.

The follow-up is horrendous, the 45 year old test driver is assumed to have died on impact. After the crash the highway was closed off for a few hours.

According to the authorities, total damages resulted from the situation amount to some 120.000 euros (155.000 USD). This was pretty easy to evaluate but the investigation will take an extra while.

German highway policemen like to be thorough and it’s tricky to determine exactly who’s fault it is. Not that we’re biased, but it seems hard to believe it would be the test driver’s fault.

Not everything about the F10 BMW M5 is great news. After joyous reviews, immense happiness and remarkable performance we’re put in touch with the dark side of this car.

A new bit of news about is sad, borderline on tragic really as the first ever major accident involving one of these sport sedans.

It happened on the Autobahn, at tremendous speed and ended with two people seriously injured and a completely ruined BMW M5.

The incident occurred as the driver was going along at a speed of 186 mph and he had to swerve in order to avoid another motorist.

Thus, he hit the lane divider, was thrown back out of it, sent rolling over several times and eventually came to a halt on the grass just outside the Autobahn.

It is remarkable that under these conditions a 60 year old driver and a 20 year old passenger both survived. Naturally, they’re seriously injured but the important thing is that they’re alive.

Part of their survival is due to the great design and engineering that went into the road network in Germany and the passenger cell of the M5 and part of it is due to the conditions.

The F10 BMW M5’s driver was followed by two of his sons, one drove a BMW M6 and the other drove an M3. I wonder what’s the family’s favorite brand.

Both arrived on sight very fast and after the whole thing and used a fire extinguisher to control further damage and immediately called the authorities.

Sadly, the driver that made the mistake of getting in the way at such speeds has fled the scene of the accident and he’s yet to be identified.
