BMW’s New York Auto Show stand was far from empty this year. The BMW X1 was there, the M5 was there along with the M6 variants and there was even talk of pricing.

The 6 Series Gran Coupe was also there and it is in quite the unusual spot. This has a lot to do with the other models there.

It’s not exactly glamorous or fast enough to keep up with the M Division products but it’s also not as affordable as the X1 CUV either.

The press release that comes alongside with the unveiling of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe includes full pricing disclosure.

Alongside the previously announced 640i GC model, we now know how much the V8 powerplants are going to be going for.

The BMW 650i Gran Coupe will come with a sticker price of $87.395 whereas the 650i xDrive all wheel drive version will come in at $90.395.

Both models are powered by the familiar twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 which develops 450 horsepower and which is connected to the eight speed automatic gearbox.

The rear wheel drive version of the four door coupe will go from 0 to 62 in just 4.6 seconds while the xDrive version will make better use of the added traction and manage the same feat in 4.5 seconds.

The official market launch for the united states will take place in June for the 640i and the 650 versions will come in about a month later or so.

It’s unbelievable just how privileged some people can be at times. While most of us still think of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe as a concept, one of the first ones was spotted out on the streets.

The imagery came courtesy of bimmertoday.de with the location being Augsburg, Germany.

Not even the incredibly boring and faded silver metallic paint chosen for this specific model was capable of fending off the eye of the BMW connoisseur and even if you weren’t one, you’d have a hard time not noticing it.

Grabbing a set of photos take under normal conditions and left unaltered generally tends to showcase some less than beautiful lines of the car, lines you would otherwise be unlikely to see.

That’s not the case with the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe.

What you saw in the studio pics is what you get here and despite the unfriendly season, the driver of this particular 6 Series Gran Coupe has kept it almost perfectly clean. Makes it a lot easier to enjoy.

The onlooker didn’t take any pictures of the interior, or, if he did, they weren’t good enough for a release but we are told that the seat layout seems usable. Not exactly a major concern, but still important as the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is claimed to have a 4+1 seat layout.

This means 4 adults should be able to sit comfortably in it with a small child being seated in between the rear armchairs.

The photographed model of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe we see here roaming the wilds was a 650i, the model to want until the M division make a version of their own.

Long in the woodwork, considered to be late to the market by many and now it’s finally here. Ladies and gentlemen; meet the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe.

As we’ve been knowing for some time now, the Gran Coupe is a four door version of the Bavarian company’s 6 Series Coupe.

The new 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is quite the interesting machine. Then again all its rivals in this market are quite capable creations.

To begin with, the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will become available in early 2012, in entry-level 640i form.

That’s the version that’s powered by the N55 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged straight six cylinder engine which has an output of 315 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque.

Later on in the day a twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 with around 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque will be available in the BMW 650i Gran Coupe.

As is befitting on any modern day luxury car, the xDrive four wheel drive system will be an option to those not very fond of RWD only.

Also, the transmission is one of the proper sort for the segment, the ZF eight speed automatic option is the only one you get.

In terms of looks, the BMW 6 Series fans and owners will be in definite familiar territory as, apart from the 4.4 inches of extra length, there’s not that much between them.

No performance figures on the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe were published, no price was announced and no sales expectations have been uttered so far.
