A recent report released from the 2Addicts community of Bimmerpost, has claimed that BMW carmaker would lose the 228i and the M235i nameplates and switch places with other monikers, like the future 230i and the so called 240i, which would come with new and more powerful engines under the hood.

The BMW German carmaker hasn’t confirmed the report, but the 2Addict member who posted it, claimed to have talked to some officials inside, so we might incline that the so called 230i and the 240i might be coming soon.

I think that the plan of changing names for the 2-Series would be a welcoming decision and a good intention of the carmaker to refresh the engine lineup. In fact, why not doing it?

There were also some reports released a few months ago, according to which other models like the 328i and the 428i from the 3- and the 4-Series would become 330i, respectively 430i, while the 335i and the 435i would bear the 340i/440i nameplates. Unfortunately, that this happened yet.

Perhaps the carmaker is playing with numbers or is just teasing us, waiting for the right moment to pull the plug on the 230i and the M240i. What do you think, will they come?

The aftermarket specialists from the famous AC Schnitzer tuning company have recently introduced an upgraded program on the one-off BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, the model boosting with both visual and performance features.

In terms of design and style, the gorgeous BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe has been fitted with a revised front spoiler and rear diffuser, mirror covers wrapped in carbon fiber, a chromed front grille and a rear skirt protective film.

Inside the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, the cabin is all marked by AC Schnitzer, tweaking an aluminum handbrake, gear knob with a digital gear display, aluminum “Black Line” gear knob, aluminum pedals and much more.

Under the hood, the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe by AC Schnitzer has also been upgraded, the sports car now receiving power for six of its versions.

We are talking about the BMW 428i producing 294 horsepower, the 435i coming with 350 horsepower, the 420i with 245 horsepower, the 420d sporting 218 horsepower, while the 430d goes 309 horses and the 435d, coming with 360 horsepower.

The BMW`s new 4-Series Gran Coupe has just been unveiled for the first time at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, of something that could be the next-gen of mid-sized sedan.

The model was first unveiled on the web a month ago, and now, the German base automaker is making its way through the Geneva`s stands with the 4-Series Gran Coupe.

The Gran Coupe seems to be longer than the previous model, the luxury car being 1,825 mm in width, 2,819 mm in wheelbase and also sporting a longer roof, making extra space for its 480 liter in the trunk.

The 4-Series Gran Coupe takes its power from its previous 3-Series sedan and 4-Series coupe, taking its throttle from the 420i version which develops 181 bhp and the 418d with 141 bhp, to the more powerful 435i to develop 300 bhp and 300 lb-ft, for a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine.

BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe comes with the standard rear-wheel drive as well as a choice of an all-wheel drive xDrive, depending on the auto dealers from the market.

The German luxury car manufacturer likes to do things bigger – bigger coupes, bigger sedans or bigger wagons – for its 3 Series/4 Series.

But the 2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe seems to be even bigger than all, especially than its flagship 3 Series sedan.

As you can also see in the pictures, the 4 Series Gran Coupe is longer and wider by around half an inch, but shorter in overall by around an inch and a half, compared to 3 Series sedan.

More than that, things with the 4 Series Gran Coupe are even better, with the car also sporting a longer roofline, a more sculpted rear haunches and lower stance.

Inside the 2015 4 Series Gran Coupe though, the space volumes should feature the same numbers as the 3 Series sedan, but perhaps with some insignificant decrease in headroom and rear legroom.

As for the powertrains, they are completely taken from the other 3/4 Series lineup. The 428i uses the BMW`s preferred 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque.

On the other hand, the 435i is equipped with the more powerful 3.0-liter turbo-six engine, generating a pure 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft.
