The news circulating the web, stating that the 3-Series 335i will be replace with the 430i variant, have now been approved, as according to some recent reports, the 2016 BMW 3-Series would indeed receive the 430i, which would prove its higher power and performance.

The 2016 BMW 3-Series 340i is due to arrive this summer and will come with some important changes under the hood, meaning that it will receive the B58 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit, which will produce 320 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.

The 3.0-liter six-cylinder will be hooked to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, both for a rear-wheel drive, as well as an all-wheel drive layout, in the xDrive version. The 2016 BMW 3-Series is believed to be officially launched at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

In terms of visuals, the 2016 BMW 3-Series 340i is also coming with some important design changes, like revised bumpers at the front and rear end, new grille and suspension, full LED headlights and other features that will make it stand out from the crowd.

After the official announcement of the 2016 BMW 3-Series 340i version this summer, the BMW German based carmaker is also planning to introduce the new 4-Series, intending to replace the 435i version with the 440i one.

A recent report released from the 2Addicts community of Bimmerpost, has claimed that BMW carmaker would lose the 228i and the M235i nameplates and switch places with other monikers, like the future 230i and the so called 240i, which would come with new and more powerful engines under the hood.

The BMW German carmaker hasn’t confirmed the report, but the 2Addict member who posted it, claimed to have talked to some officials inside, so we might incline that the so called 230i and the 240i might be coming soon.

I think that the plan of changing names for the 2-Series would be a welcoming decision and a good intention of the carmaker to refresh the engine lineup. In fact, why not doing it?

There were also some reports released a few months ago, according to which other models like the 328i and the 428i from the 3- and the 4-Series would become 330i, respectively 430i, while the 335i and the 435i would bear the 340i/440i nameplates. Unfortunately, that this happened yet.

Perhaps the carmaker is playing with numbers or is just teasing us, waiting for the right moment to pull the plug on the 230i and the M240i. What do you think, will they come?

At the Geneva motor show, BMW will present the new performance kit wich will boost the 3.0 liter engine from 135i and 535i. The engine have been upgraded with 20 hp so from 300 hp will be upgraded at 320 hp. The torque is 317 lb-ft at the manual gearbox and 332 lb-ft at the automatic gearbox.

This new performance kit will come with an additional radiator on the outside of the engine and air flow ducts to help cool the engine. This new kit is available on the following models: 335i Convertible, 135i Convertible, 335i Coupé, 135i Coupé, 335i Touring and 335i Saloon.

This new performance kit really attracts my attention on these two models. Personally, these are the models that I can afford and that I love. The old versions of 3 Series can be found at second hand under a 2000 euros and the 1 Series have the aspect that makes me wish a car like this even more than a X6 and any other expensive car.
