The all-new 2018 BMW 3-Series is popping-up into the spotlights in a new spy video, which highlights the test mule`s driving capabilities while performing some drifts on the snow. The model looks extremely aggressive, wider and ready to receive new aerodynamics that would make it high-performance.

We are dealing here with the future G20 3-Series which is undergoing final tests just before arrival at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September. Soon after, it will be released in some European countries.

As we can depict from the spy video the car`s design will be highlighted by the production body panels which may reveal its final form. We might be looking here at a short front overhang and Hofmeister Kink, adding vertical headlights and smaller headlights. Previous spy phots also revealed the test mule with trunk lip spoiler, new exhaust system, updated suspension system and improved brakes.

The new G20 3-Series is also looking bigger, bringing it closer to the G30 5-Series. They also share the same CLAR platform, meaning a more lightweight body style, lower weight and improved driving capabilities. This will also allow the fitting of a wide range of engines.

The cabin will also come with increase space for all passengers, adding as well the latest technology, also found on the new 5-Series of 7-Series.

Performance wise, the 2018 G20 BMW 3-Series is expected to arrive with a suite of three-, four- and six-cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel, starting with the entry-level 318i and finishing with the top of the line M340i, the latter one becoming the direct rival of the new Audi S4 and Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG. As expected, the carmaker will also introduce a plug-in hybrid variant and possibly, an all-electric vehicle.

Spy photographers from carscoops auto magazine have recently caught on shots the upcoming G20 3-Series with the M Sport package, the model being released on the market in mid-2017 as a 2018 MY.

With the M Sport package, it means that the new 3-Series will look more hardcore, both at the exterior as well as inside the cabin. Otherwise, in the engine department, the model will carry over the engine lineup from the F30 3-Series.

Having a closer look at the spy photos below, the 2018 G20 BMW 3-Series M Sport is wearing full camouflage, with a series of important styling bits to be added.

This means that the new 3-Series M Sport will be extremely hot, aggressive and imposing, meaning tweaks like custom front bumper, trunk spoiler lip, revised rear diffuser, adding as well new mechanics – much larger braking system and lowered suspension, which will allow for improved stance.

Inside, the cabin is also set to come with the latest technology, and that despite the fact that we don’t have any spy photos with the interior. We should expect the same suit of technology also implemented on the new 5-Series or future X7 SUV.

Amongst the top features we should expect the new digital instrument panel and dashboard design, updated iDrive display, and much more.

In the engine department we also expect the same sort of mills also found underneath the new F30, meaning high-performance petrol burners and diesels, followed by plug-in hybrids.

We expect full details with the all-new 2018 G20 BMW 3-Series somewhere next year, perhaps before the car`s official unveiling at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

The present BMW 3-Series is bringing technology and body language design to a whole new level, but according to AutomobileMag, the future 2018 G20 BMW 3-Series is set to level up all that BMW has achieved so far with this particular model. Thus, a revolution in design, performance and technology inside is just about to start.

First of all, the entire 3-Series will set of in the years to come, starting with the G20 3-Series launched in 2019 alongside the G21 and the long-wheelbase G28 3-Series. BMW will also launch the G24 BMW 3-Series GT in the following year, the carmaker moving next to the 4-Series in 2020.

Form a visual standpoint, the 2018 G2- BMW 3-Series will be more aggressive and sportier, shaped by muscular lines, with harder edges and more spectacular design. Apart from the smashing design, inside, the future G20 will also redefine the interior styling, the cabin receiving the latest high-end materials, along with a wide array of technological goodies. Amongst these we can mention the larger color touchscreen, with voice command and gesture motion.

Moving further to technology and safety system, the 2018 G20 BMW 3-Series will benefit the best treatment, receiving the latest features, like self-parking, active lane-keeping assist, automatic braking, semi-autonomous driving, automatic overatking on the roads and a few more.

Finally, the engines that will fit under the hood of the upcoming G20 promise to deliver more performance. Thus, the 328i version will receive the 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with 260 horsepower, while the 340i will be equipped with the higher 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, outputting a good 365 horsepower. Prices have not been yet revealed!
