BMW`s i8 fans in the United States are now glad to receive the official figures with the plug-in hybrid, figures which has just been released by the US EPA.

The US EPA results refer to the electric range of 15 miles, the MPGe, of 76 miles while the MPG combined, is 28 miles, with the BMW German based automaker to also claim an MPGe rating of 94, while the electric range was of 22 miles.

BMW i8 plug-in hybrid supercar is powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol unit, backed by an electric motor, which uses the BMW`s eDrive technology.

The 1.5-liter unit outputs a total of 231 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels, while the electric motor develops an additional of 131 horsepower, being sent to the front wheels.

The good news doesn’t stop here, as the BMW German based automaker has also built up a one-off 2014 BMW i8 Concours d`Elegance Edition, to be auctioned this weekend at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance.

The BMW i8 is highly appreciated in the United States and as a celebration of its coming, a special 2014 BMW i8 Concours d`Elegance Edition has been put for auction at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance.

The 2014 BMW i8 Concours d`Elegance Edition is indeed a special edition, as it bears a special paint, which is the Frozen Grey, as well as some interesting features that would make it stand in front of the other BMW i8s.

The company responsible with the selling of the i8 Concours d`Elegance Edition is Gooding & Company, which is the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance.

The BMW automaker has put the special BMW Individual Frozen Grey Metallic exterior finish, while inside, this special i8 seems to enjoy itself with plenty of Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery.

The leather upholstery is in a contrast stitching with the BMW i Blue, with other interior trims, like the Pure Impulse Tera World trim, on the seat belts, or the “BMW i8” stamped on the front headrests.

The special edition also includes leaser headlights, after the government approval, a BMW i8 Display key, or the premiere BMW Charging Station.

New Yorkers stay tuned while being on the streets, as the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid was just seen in a world premiere riding on the famous boulevards of New York.

The BMW German based luxury automaker has recently confirmed the availability of the i8 powerful hybrid in the United States, with the official unveil of the model in August, at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance.

The images seen here were posted by Autogespot and are actually preparing the arrival of the powerful plug-in hybrid on the United States market, already making its presence on the streets of New York.

To be a reminder, the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid will have a base entry-level price of $135,700, the model coming available in three trims, namely the Giga World, the Tera World, as well as the Pure Impulse.

All trims will be getting their power from a torque synchronous motor, developing 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, backed by a range extender, namely an I3 1.5-liter, with 228 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.

We are talking thus about a total power of 357 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.
