While BMW and MINI are busy planning and testing out their latest hot rides which will arrive in the market in new forms, including a wide range of plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles by 2021, the Group`s luxury subsidiary Rolls-Royce is also bringing some important updates to its high-end models.

One of these models to be released in the near future – in 2017 to be exact as a 2018 MY – is the all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom, the model being recently caught on shots while undergoing tests outside its plant.

Thanks to motor1 via CarPix, we also have the first batch of spy photos with the 2018 Phantom, the test mule seen here wearing full camouflage around the body, which indicates significant changes in terms of styling. The interior will also receive updates.

As we can depict from the photos, the new model will stand taller and will be more imposing, as it will ride on an all-aluminum architecture, meaning that it will shed off significant weight to make room for a wide array of engines and increase the space inside.

Thanks to the new aluminum structure, the company will actually release two versions – a short wheelbase, which is actually the one seen here, as well as a long wheelbase, offering increase space inside the cabin.

On terms of styling, the 2018 Phantom in both its forms, will come with a more imposing yet aggressive body styling, highlighted by a wider front grille flanked by new headlights, with other bits as well borrowed from the previous generation Phantom VII. Also, the taillights will be updates, while the C-pillar will be reshaped to best fit the now more sloped roofline. Overall, we are looking here at an extremely evolutionary design.

Inside, the cabin will also receive some important modifications, and judging by the interior photos below, we might be looking here at a dual screen, updated digital instrument cluster and a lot more. As far as the engine lineup goes, there are not any fresh details concerning any changes, the new Phantom reportedly carrying over the same mills from the current model.

Rolls-Royce is that luxurious British-based carmaker that you don’t want to mess with under no circumstances, especially when its Bespoke division releases standout models, that look out of the ordinary in most cases. Yet, the refinement and the classy feel remain the carmaker`s best attributes.

We are dealing here with the making of an exquisite Rolls-Royce, called the Sunrise Phantom Extended Wheelbase, which sets aside from other models with its unique mixed color of gold and pink, making it “shimmer in different hues depending on the light source.”

And indeed, the car`s color changes when it pick-ups the sun rays to generate a “subtle yet striking sparkle”, providing it with golden accents, depending on the light source.

Apart the interesting body wrap, the cabin of the Rolls-Royce Sunrise Phantom is also looking fresh with the Sunrise leather with Dark Spice trims, golden inlaid Spirit of Ecstasy emblem with wood trim on the dashboard and the steering wheel`s spokes, door panels or rear center console.

One of the most noticeable and standout features is the steering wheels itself, which is covered with one kilogram of pure sterling silver, trimmed as well with a shark skin to provide a soft and unique texture.

The key of the Phantom Abyss is also a reference to luxury, as it was handcrafted from 24k gold and leather, covered with gold flakes. We cannot express the feeling when seeing this project, but perhaps the photos are more relevant at this point.

The BMW German manufacturer might be ready to come up with what it seems to be its latest creation BMW 9-Series Concept.

The 9-Series is expected to be bigger, larger and more luxurious, being ready to be officially launched perhaps at the 2014 China Auto.

There is no official announcement made so far, but the professionals from the Auto Motor und Sport, are inclined to confirm the Concept`s presence in China.

The source also state that the BMW 9-Series Concept will feature a “new cockpit philosophy” that will be also put on the next generation of the 7-Series.

More than that, rumors state that the Concept will be riding on the same platforms that can be now found on the Rolls-Royce Phantom or the 2015 BMW 7-Series.

The BMW 9-Series Concept is set to come in 2016 and more details on the vehicle will be given at the automotive event in China. We will gladly fill you in on more info then.
