Whenever German tuner AC Schnitzer pops-up on the web with one of its latest customizations it has to be a special one, especially if we are used to seeing special BMW models wearing its signature.

This time however, it`s not a BMW model wrapped with a hefty dosage of upgrades, both at the exterior and underneath the skin, the tuner now turning their attention to the hot MINI John Cooper Works. All versions, the Hatch, Clubman and Cabriolet can now be had with significant upgrades at the exterior as well as under the hood.

In case you own a MINI JCW and want to look hot and more powerful, then AC Schnitzer is the right choice for you. You will get a nice wrap, along with some hot aerodynamics.

Amongst the top amenities, there is the standout front splitter or the new exhaust system with the “Track Mode” valve control”, which provides a wilder soundtrack. Other goodies refer to the new suspension system or the AC1 BiColor or Anthracite 19-inch alloy wheels.

MINI has recently completed the John Cooper Works lineup by introducing the all-new Convertible, the version getting ready to hit the US market at the base price of $25,600, without the destination and handling fee.

The MINI John Cooper Works Convertible is standing apart other convertibles from MINI with the sheer performance under the hood. The model is packed by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, with 231 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds, when hooked to a standard six-speed manual.

With the optional six-speed Steptronic transmission, the same distance is done on 6.5 seconds, at a topping of 240 km/h.

Apart the good performance figures, the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible is also standing out from the crowd with its design, the model coming with an updated front bumper with wider air intakes and honeycombs mesh grille inserts, along with the LED headlights, sports exhaust system or the 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels. Also, the retractable roof opens and closes at speeds up to 30 km/h.

Inside, the cabin complements the exterior with high-end materials like Dinamica/fabric sport seats, leather steering wheel, along with other cool features such as updated instrument cluster, stainless steel pedals, JCW door plates and JCW shifter, new air conditioning system, and so on.

It seems that BMW is not the only carmaker to announce its latest models at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, as its main subsidiary MINI, is also planning some of its most important models for the event.

One of the stars will be the MINI John Cooper Works and will be present at the event wearing a 3-door as well as a 5-door body style, while being wrapped in the John Cooper Works aerodynamics kit, with wider air inlets or the special 17-inch John Cooper Works light alloy wheels.

The MINI John Cooper Works represents one of the most powerful models from the British carmaker, as it is fitted with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit, with the MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, capable of reaching a raised 231 horsepower, as opposed to its predecessor.

But the MINI John Cooper Works is also highlighted through its racing characteristics, being capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds, when hooked to the 6-speed Steptronic sports transmission.

Apart from the MINI John Cooper Works, the British carmaker will also bring other important models at the Shanghai event, like the MINI Countryman Park Lane, which is a true and exceptional vehicle in terms of modern design and versatility on the roads.

The MINI Countryman Park Lane will arrive at the event in two engine versions, a whole set of high-tech equipment inside, while the exterior design will also tweak the wonderful Earl Grey metallic finish in contrast with the Oak Red on the roof. Additionally, a new set of 18-inch light alloy wheels will be fitted on the model.

The BMW`s direct subsidiary MINI has recently sent the one-off 2016 John Cooper Works model in Australia, where the cheapest version will set you back at 49,950 AUD, the price also including the shipping fees.

For that model, you will get a six-manual transmission and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, with an updated 170 kW and 320 Nm of torque, compared to the previous model, which was also more expensive.

The 2016 MINI Cooper JCW is thus capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, coming as well with a good average fuel consumption of 5.7L / 100 km. Additionally, the model is also equipped with a lot of performance goodies and gizmos inside.

The 2016 MINI Cooper JCW has received a lot of interesting security and performance features, like the dynamic damper control adjustable suspension, the Brembo brakes, the 18-inch alloy wheels or the Brembo breaks, while inside, one can depict the John Works sports seats, Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming, the head-up display, satellite navigation system, the rearview camera, parking sensors mounted at the front and rear and a lot more.

The new MINI Cooper JCW is less expensive than the previous model, meaning that you can get it with around 3,000 AUD off, costing less than its direct rival Audi S1 as well, which costs 49,900 AUD in Australia.
