The BMW 2-Series Active Tourer LWB was recently seen online in two renderings, signed by Theophilus Chin, previewing a future model coming with a longer wheelbase and 7 seats.

The two renderings are actually based on the spy shots taken by the spy photographers with BMW 2-Series Active Tourer LWB, while the model was being tested.

This is a clear indication that the BMW German based luxury automaker is presently working on a 7-seat and long wheelbase version of the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer LWB, the MPV also standing on the same UKL platform.

Other than that, what we also know about the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer LWB is that the MPV will also have a front-wheel drive system, larger rear doors, as well as a much taller roof.

Under the hood, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer LWB is also said to come with two petrol burners and a diesel, meaning a 1.5-liter three-cylinder, with 136 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque, while the larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder, develops 231 horses and 350 Nm of torque.

The 2.0-liter diesel unit, develops a good 150 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque.

Frank Niederlaender, the head of product management concerning the front-wheel drive cars, stated for Automotive News Europe that the automaker is expecting a 75 rate percentage regarding sales, for the newly BMW 2-Series Active Tourer.

“We are expecting the Active Tourer will have a conquest rate of around 75 percent,” said Frank Niederlaender, head of product management for BMW’s lower model range.”

The BMW 2-Series Active Tourer is said to be successful as it is the company`s number one minivan coming with a front-wheel drive system, aimed to conquer the hearts of young families, as well as the hearts of older drivers.

More than that, the BMW German based luxury carmaker is also forecasting high demands for the Active Tourer in the next ten years.

To be a short reminder, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer is equipped with a choice of three gasoline engines as well as three diesels in Europe, heading its dealerships this September.

The model will be priced from 27,200 euros in Europe, while in China and in the US the minivan will be launched in January, next year, with prices not the be known at the moment.

The BMW German luxury automaker is planning to launch a new roadster, called Z2 in 2016, which will come with a front-wheel drive system.

BMW is already working on the entry-level Z2 Roadster and it will be that particular hot car that will complete the BMW`s model lineup, coming with affordable prices.

Since the car is rumored for some time now, the BMW Z2 Roadster will share the same front-wheel drive system also used on the 2014 MINI Cooper, becoming the second model with a front-wheel after the 2-Series Active Tourer.

More than that, it is also rumored that the future BMW Z2 Roadster will be also coming with an all-wheel drive system.
The BMW Z2 Roadster is said to compete against famous vehicles like the Mazda MX-5.

As for the engine lineup, we don’t know for sure what will the Z2 Roadster sport, but reports state that we might be talking about some small 3- and 4-cylinder petrol burners.

More details about the upcoming BMW Z2 Roadster will be offered at the time when the sports car will be officially announced.
