Once again, BMW Group has some good reasons to celebrate as the German company reported increased sales for the previous month. Few weeks ago, the Bavarian company released sales figures for the first six months of 2011, announcing an all-time record of 833,366 units, an increase of 19,7% comparing to the same period of the last year. Today, we find out that July is also continuing the ascending trend in terms of sales with an increase of 7.6% for BMW Group.

Ian Robertson, responsible for Sales and Marketing claimed that the current attractive line-up currently available along the good sales figures reported each month will lead to the estimated sales of 1,6 million vehicles for 2011.

If BMW will manage to sell this number of units, it will achieve a new all-time sales record and there are all the reason to happen this as this July already is the best in BMW’s history. The situation in the premium segment has not changed in the U.S. market as BMW still leads this segment, a major global advantage in front of the eternal German rivals, Audi and Mercedes.

Comparing to July 2010, the Munich-based company managed to deliver 26,120 units, an increase of 11,7% comparing to 23,390 vehicles. Last month, the Chinese market brought a significant increase of 36,1% with 18,858 models from 13,852 in July 2010.

Markets such as Brazil, India and Korea brought the German company significant double-digit growth ranging from an increase of 22,1% in Brazil to 94,9% in Korea.

Regarding the own market, BMW said: “In Germany, a total of 23,212 new BMW and MINI vehicles were registered in July, which was on the same level as the previous year (prev. yr. 23,397 / -0.8%). The slower pace could be attributed to line-up changes, including the changeover from the first generation BMW 1 Series to the second generation.”

Since the start of the year, BMW sold a total of 798,590 units reporting an increase of 16,2%. Talking about models, the new BMW X3 managed to return the highest growth with 9,762, an impressive increase of 193,2% over the same period of the last year.

The Germans from BMW recently released details on the current sales figures which seem to be very good. To be more precise, BMW has achieved an all-time record for the first six months of 2011, of course, in terms of sales. Moreover, BMW Group managed to set a new record as June was the most profitable month ever with 165,855 units, an increase of 15,9% comparing to June 2010. From the 165,855 units, more than 130,000 were BMWs while the other models were from MINI and Rolls-Royce.

The British subsidiary, MINI, reported increased sales with 31,111 units sold in June, with 34,1% more over the 23,202 vehicles sold in the same month of the previous year. Finally, the luxury British brand, Rolls-Royce, reported an increase of 64.1% for the first half of 2011 with a total of 1,592 units.

Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and Marketing: “We have just achieved another record month in sales and the best six months in our company’s history. These figures reflect the strong global demand for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce cars and Motorcycles. We aim to continue our balanced growth, in both mature and emerging markets. Due to the model cycle and the year-on-year base effect we do anticipate a somewhat slower rate of growth in the second half of the year.”

Talking about the most profitable markets, BMW Group reported an increase of 12,3% in Europe with 437,373 vehicles, 18,7% in America with 178,903 vehicles while the Asian market received 189,254 vehicles in the first of half of 2011, a significant increase of 47,3%.

BMW Group also announced that the current X3 continued its strong sales success doubling the figures in the first half of 2011. More than 10,000 units were delivered to the customers, a whooping increase of 131% comparing to 2010. The new BMW 5 Series is also a key model for the brand with 28,014 units sold last month, 43,9% more than the previous year.
