We all knew that the BMW i3 electric would be a success worldwide, but especially on the United States market, where the carmaker succeeded selling exactly 336 units in July alone.

The sales program remains healthy, after the BMW German based automaker also managed to sell 358 in June, with the company also to stock another 1,000 units for the months to come.

The BME automaker is selling in the US the BMW i3 BEV and the i3 REx versions, with a ratio to favor the Range Extender i3.

On the other and, the BMW i3 BEV has a range of 81 miles , which is also proved to be successful in the US, while the Rev is rated at 72 miles, based only on full electric mode.

The BMW i3 is also successful due to the Range Extender` generator, which provides an extra range for the vehicle, meaning that the Range Extender starts and maintains the charging state of the battery, when it enters a low level.

The BMW i3 electric is available from $41,350 and $45,200 in the Range Extender version, the company also expecting to have huger sales in the months to come.

BMW has decided to increase the production for the i3 electric model, since there are mode demands to cope with.

The fresh new out of the box BMW i3 electric has been so successful for the last couple of months, that an increase in production is mandatory at the factory where it is assembled.

Harald Krueger, the chief production at BMW stated that the company had to come up with a solution to raise production from 70 to 100 units a day.

More than that, Krueger also assures us that there will be around 20,000 units to be built “by the end of the year”, in order to keep up with the high demand.

In the US, the BMW i3 electric can be purchased from $41,350, with destination fees of around $925. As for the range extender, the version will be also coming at $45,200.

In Germany, the BMW i3 electric can be yours at the price of 34,950 euro if you choose the all-electric model. There are also other prices to choose from like a choice of 39.450 euro.

Top executives at BMW stated that the German luxury car manufacturer is expecting the i3 electric to share the same price as the 3-Series in the United States.

The first electric car that BMW has launched will be available in the US starting this May, and the automaker is spending billions on the developing of the i3 and also i8 plug-in hybrid supercar.

The company`s goal is to sell more than two thousands electric i3s in the first year in the United States alone, hoping to build the carbon fiber bodies just on time in Washington, with the help of a joint venture in Moses Lake.

All BMW stores in the US are following the upgrading plans for the i3 electric to come. The car will be available for sale this summer, being priced at $42,275, closely to a 3-Series model.

For the next five years, the US dealers will spend more than $2.5 billion in their outlets, expanding the capacity of their showrooms with more than 40%, to let the i3 electric breath fresh air.

BMW`s i3 is considered to be a smashing in the United States, with sales to exceed all expectations.
