It seems that BMW is getting ready to launch the restyled BMW 1-Series as a prototype wearing less camouflage than before was spotted on the street. The German hatchback is expected to debut towards the end of this year and come with minor styling tweaks.

As the camouflage suggests, the modifications will be seen in the front and rear end, namely the bumpers and front grille.

The model pictured above is the sportier BMW M135i which should benefit from a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo delivering 326hp and 450 Nm of torque.

We also expect interior improvements but for now, there aren’t any images of the cabin.

Be sure to keep an eye on our blog as new information and photos on the upcoming BMW 1-Series will become available soon. Until then, we just hope some leaked images to surface so we can get a closer look earlier than expected.

Somewhere in some frozen lands, the Germans from BMW are testing the future 1 Series generation, tests which seem to be pretty advanced as they are forcing the model’s abilities in difficult road conditions. The new BMW 1 Series F20 is expected to debut somewhere next year or late 2011 at a major auto show.

The German five-door hatch gets rid of some camouflage especially in the upper part and give us a sneak peek regarding the design way which will be followed. The headlights seem to be more aggressive but the camouflage layer can give us a wrong idea on this.

However, in the rear we notice the LED lights while under the bonnet we expect to find a four-cyinder engine together with a six-cylinder turbocharged unit as the top of the range. In these tests the German engineers opted to fit the prototype with snow chains in order to create the best testing conditions.
