The BMW`s special edition, the Z4 sDrive20i GT Spirit, is planned to hit the Japanese market, without the model being sold anywhere else in the world.

The special edition BMW Z4 sDrive201 Spirit was built as a celebration of the Z4 GT3, the winner of the BMW Sports Trophy Team in the Super GT Series.

As seen in the photos, the BMW Z4 sDrive201 Spirit is coming in an Alpine White body paintjob, wearing a black kidney grille which stands alongside the M Sport package.

Inside the cabin, the BMW Z4 sDrive201 Spirit also received some special attention from the M Sport division, as it tweaks Alcantara leather with orange accents, aluminum pedals and the M Brand on the door sills.

Under the hood, the BMW Z4 sDrive201 Spirit is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit, which develops a rough 184 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque.

The special edition BMW Z4 sDrive201 Spirit is able to run the 0 to 100 km/h mileage in 6.9 seconds, at a top speed of 235 km/h.

The motor racing history wouldn`t be the same without Alessandro Zanardi, the Italian driver that worked his way up to the motor racing ladder, after being in the Formula One and winning two CART championships for Chip Ganassi Racing.

But the tragedy struck in 2001 when Zanardi lost both his legs in a crash at the Lausitzring in Germany. Even in prosthetic limbs, the strong Italian learned to drive a racing car with hands controls and returned to his place, into the driver`s seat.

After driving for BMW in the European Touring Car Championship and again in the World Touring Car Championship, he left the racing cars world in 2009 to train for the Paralympics.

But his love for BMW didn’t die and now the German luxury car manufacturer announced that Zanardi will be driving a Z4 GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series, the successor to the FIA GT Series.

The car was modified, fitting the hand controls to the M3 DTM, which will be fielded by ROAL Motorsport team.

Zanardi was well-appreciated by former DTM champion Roberto Ravaglia, who mentioned that the “sprints in the Blancpain GT Sprint Series are tailor-made for Alex”.

These should be great news for the speed maniacs that are at the same time also BMW fans. Yes, BMW Z4 GT3 is coming with the BMW M3 V8 engine, thing that will happen next year. Anyway, it is still not the same engine but don’t worry, it will be a much better one, better said an updated BMW M3’s V8 engine.

The BMW M3’s V8 4.0 liter engine will be able to push this car to develop up to 480 horsepower and it will also feature a 6 speed gearbox transmission which will make this little cool car able to “fly”.

Anyway, I can say that there is a problem or at last for the people like me this car is priced at 298,000 euros which is a very big price for such a tiny car but I still respect it because it can develop very high performances and it’s also built by my favorite auto maker: BMW.
