The highly developed BMW M235i Racing car has marked its first appearance in metal on track, as an official video reveals, displaying the forthcoming of the entry-level racing car.

The M235i has its basis on the M235Mi Coupe flagship and comes equipped with a powerful and upgraded two-door 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that produces a 245 kW- up to 5kW.

In terms of car racing interior safety, the car also enhances a full FIA roll cage, safety tank, stability control, and anti-lock brakes.

Since the car was conceived to hit the racing tracks from VLN Endurance Championship and the Nurburgring 24 Hours race, director Jens Marquardt from BMW Motorsport stated that the car will offer an “exceptionally good” basis for the track racing coupe.

Jens Marquardt continues: “While the BMW Z4 GT3 spearheads our range, the new M235i Racing means we are now also excellently positioned for the coming years in the field of production-based racing cars.”

The BMW M235i Racing car will be on sale starting next year at the price of $89,890 or 59,500 euros. As for the rear-wheel-drive 2 Series Coupe which replaces the seven-year-old BMW 1 Series Coupe, the car will have starting prices under $50,000.
