There are tons of appreciations to be addressed to the 2017 BMW 5-Series and perhaps words are necessary at this point. And giving its resemblance with the 7-Series in styling, interior and technological enhancements, as well as the plethora of high-end engines under the hood, the G30 BMW 5-Series will definitely be an instant success.

At the exterior, the new 5-Series comes with a bigger platform, the model gaining significant inches in size, bringing it closer to the 7-Series.

In terms of visuals, the model will be offered from the start with the M Sport Package, meaning the M Aerodynamic kit with custom front apron with wider air intakes, side skirt trims, diffuser-style rear apron, exhaust system with two rectangular tailpipes, adding the Shadowline trim, lowered suspension system as well as the 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the model is also looking exclusive with the M parts, visible on the three-spoke leather steering wheel, SensaTec upholstered dashboard, aluminum pedal covers and footrest, custom floor mats, optional Black Dakota Leather with contrast Blue stitching and so on.

In the technology department, the all-new 5-Series is indeed highly-advanced, the model coming with a plethora of gizmos that would make jealous even a 7-Series owner.

The car`s main highlight is the autonomous driving technology already previewed in former discussions, and which can communicate with other BMWs, using different voice systems, a feature that will also underpin the next year`s BMW 7-Series. Of course, don’t expect anything like “I`ll park the car for you”, but it will park your car safely and taking into account the surroundings, via the ParkNow feature.

Other important features also refer to gesture control, Intelligent voice control, touchscreen as well as the iDrive 6.0 touchpad Controller, some of them already being highlighted on the last year`s 7-Series. Let`s not forget the now already commonly used tech goodies like entertainment, navigation, telephone and other functions which can be observed on the high-end 10.25-inch screen and controlled via the aforementioned iDrive Controller or by gestures and voice controls.

As for the safety features, the new 5-Series has got plenty of it. We are looking here at the most advanced gizmos, like the Driver and Parking Assistance Systems, Adaptive Mode with Dynamic Damper control, adding the latest Head-Up Display, Remote 3D View, new Voice Control, Remote Control Parking or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

In the engine department, the 2017 G30 BMW 5-Series comes with a wide choice of engines, and that thanks to the car`s new CLAR platform, all built from lightweight materials like carbon fiber or aluminum.

We should mention the all-new 2.0-liter flat-four inline engine with 248 horsepower in the 530i version, adding the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with 335 horsepower, in the 540i. The new 5-Series will also spawn a much more potent M5 and M550 diesel, with improved performance and additional styling features. The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Concept is making a come-back after its official unveiling at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance, in California, the hot model being also presented in Europe, at the 2015 Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille.

The model has been unveiled wearing the Brilliant White exterior color, wrapping the BMW racing livery.
Apart the gorgeous body wrap, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Concept is also coming with golden shade finished lightweight alloy wheels, new kidney grilles, or the bolder splitter.

Inside the cabin, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Concept is featuring sports seats made from carbon fiber, six-point racing harnesses, mounted display on the steering wheel, white leather upholstery, wood trim, emergency engine off switch and more.

We have no words concerning the performance that the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Concept will be coming with, but we should expect fresh info in the upcoming period.

After several leaked images and even a rendering, we finally get to see the 2015 BMW 1 Series facelift in its full glory as the German company decided to fully unveil the little hatchback.

Available in both three- and five-door variants, the new model comes with serious styling tweaks, new equipment inside and a total of nine versions, three of them also being available with the xDrive system. To begin with, the entry-level BMW 116i packs a 1.5-liter engine producing 109 horsepower while the next two versions, namely 118i and 120i, sport a 1.6-liter engine. The only difference between them is, of course, the output.

If the BMW 118i comes with 136 horses, the 120i has no less than 177 horsepower. More power is offered by the 218 hp 2.0-liter engine in the BMW 125i with the BMW M135i topping at 326 horses and 450 Nm of torque squeezed from a 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit. On the other hand, those of you looking forward to a more frugal car, there’s the BMW 116d with a 1.5-liter producing 116 horsepower.

A 2.0-liter engine with 150 hp, 190 hp and 224 hp equip the rest of the diesel range, namely the 118d, 120d and 125d respectively. With the engine range concluded, we have to take a look at the aesthetic changes that BMW prepared for us. The exterior boasts now LED daytime running lights with optional LED headlights with High Beam Assistant.

Revised bumpers, air intakes and kidney front grille are also available but that’s nothing unexpected. When you enter the cabin you will notice the high-gloss black detailing as well as the revised materials, a dual-zone climate control system, a tweaked infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display as well as a revised center console.

So, the most powerful 2015 BMW 1 Series facelift is the BMW M135i and its xDrive version (BMW M135i xDrive), both having 326hp. The BMW M135i has a top speed of 5,1 seconds (0-100km/h), respectively 4,7 seconds for its xDrive version.

I hate going along the same route but I would have really loved to see a manufacturer mess up and mess up big at an official event.

Unfortunately, the Bavarians are not the ones to provide such an unusual satisfaction. They’ve kept their promise regarding the E89 BMW Z4 facelift they recently announced.

With the 2013 Detroit Motor Show having just opened up its doors, the Germans were ready with the official unveiling of the new Z4.

Alongside it, the rest of the models they promised to have in store for NAIAS were readily available. They really won’t give me any sort of hope.

While we did have a bit of a look at the car earlier on and the changes aren’t that revolutionary, there’s the Hyper Orange Package we need to talk about.

That’s an exclusive metallic orange paintjob which was hinted at in the press releases but it’s also something that really looks striking.

Under a bunch of flood lights, the reflective nature of this new paint shade really, really puts one retinas at strain.

It’s not something a BMW should do, not even one with a controversial design but since the Z4 is doing rather poorly in sales, a few unusual efforts might be what it needs.

Before receiving a smaller brother or a major overhaul that brings the sporty side, the Z4 will have to keep on being on sale in its current form.

I actually reckon the GT side really suits the E89 BMW Z4 and the sporty feeling in it is quite well kept in these conditions.

I was never really a big fan of waiting about for various releases and such so this announcement coming out ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show is really up my street.

The Bavarians we all love are the ones who’ll be bringing an interesting concept to the plate, it’s a coupe variation of their i3 eco city car.

This is what we’ve heard of being referred as the BMW i4 or that new concept that was bound for an LA debut.

Now that we’ve established the German company kept its word and that the i4 is not a completely surprising idea, we can get down to admiring it.

It is not that much different from the version with extra doors but boy can it deliver the goods. All those little changes sum up.

Making it lower, a bit wider and cutting back on the number of doors seems to have infused some more aggressive spirit to the electric vehicle.

Speaking of which, the electric motor is the only powerplant present in this new car. That could be because BMW are shying away from the plugin hybrid version of the i3.

If that’s not the reason, then there’s a fairly good chance that it’s because the Los Angeles crowd might be more enthusiastic about the all electric idea than a plugin hybrid.

Just because BMW is now differentiating the sedans and coupe models in its family even more doesn’t mean they’re about to betray their development for some good press are they?

Well, this is something that wasn’t expected, BMW seem to have unveiled their eagerly expected M6 GranCoupe recently.

They’ve done so at the Nurburgring of all places. The unveiling has taken place in front of a private audience, some of which where Chinese journalists.

They’re the ones who’ve actually notified the world of the entire thing and given us the first unaltered photos of what this stunning speeder looks like.

First impressions are all we have to go by. Even though by now the Internet is becoming a storm of images with the entire car or some details, it’s not easy to learn all about the car.

There’s just something about the lighting around the privately unveiled BMW M6 GranCoupe that makes real high quality images hard to obtain.

Things look fairly familiar when related to the F12/F13 BMW M6 in terms of body kit design and the general stance.

Something that made it into the four door version of the coupe and is a little surprising is the carbon fiber roof. This is great for dynamics but does look a little shaky.

If we’re to stick wit the strictness of the aesthetics, the new alloy wheels BMW M have in store for the Gran Coupe look astonishing.

They’re so pretty it takes some thought to actually describe their looks. Otherwise, the business as usual situation is going down when it comes to the drivetrain.

Under the bonnet we’ll find the exciting 4.4 liter twin-turbo S63Tu V8 engine which develops 560 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.

Last we heard, BMW were cooling down their efforts with the i Range products. The hybrid and electric cars were in a bit of a bad phase at the time.

Could things be turning around for these tree hugging vehicles? Or maybe it’s just the way the guys at BMW think about the future of the market.

This is so because there’s a rumor that’s started going round about a car called the BMW i4. This would be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

That’s an event less than a month away. Obviously we don’t know everything about BMW’s business and so on but we had a feeling we would have heard about it before.

We’ll admit to that miss and just wait for the car to be unveiled as a coupe-ish version of the fresh i3‘s design can’t be anything but welcome.

I still have my doubts about the way this car seems to have popped up out of nowhere, but even I have to admit, Los Angeles is the place.

If anything that is deemed to save the world gets adopted by the elite from that particular corner of the world, the effect will likely snowball.

Under the bonnet we’d expect the same drivetrain as the i3 but it should have something to make it stand out from the standard 168 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque setup.

Or maybe it won’t, maybe this will be a car that is more focused on the final bits of the fuel economy and range parts of the equation rather than the sporty side.

With yesterday’s leak on the BMW 1 Series GT we were in a bit of a pickle over the next move the Bavarians would make on unveiling this new model.

They made the right decision, for us, and made the scoop available earlier today. Truth be told, this has all the makings of an amazing car if you can get past one thing.

The front wheels are the ones driven, that’s like… three quarters of the cars on sale. Other than that stat, how much do you lose?

According to some everything, according to many, almost nothing and the truth is, as always, somewhere in between.

The benefits however greatly outweigh that decrease in driving pleasure. Practicality levels are at an all time high and the idea of Active Tourer seems to be ever more fascinating.

Let’s start by talking about the design. The instant you see it you know it’s a BMW and even once that identification has been made you’re still amazed at how good it can look.

As a crossbreed between a hatchback and an MPV shouldn’t be allowed to be so well proportioned. Or this well equipped.

The interior still has plenty of details hidden yet we’re promised some considerable LCD real estate will make its way in as well as the fabulous “Cool Shade”.

It’s a panoramic roof which can vary its opacity. The idea first appeared at rivals Mercedes but, unsurprisingly, it’s better at BMW since it can vary the position of its opaque spots as well.

All this great stuff without even talking about the engine. This is where we’ll find another first for BMW, a 1.5 liter turbocharged unit that’s teamed to a plugin hybrid system.

Together, the outfit can develop 190 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than enough for city driving and you shouldn’t be embarrassed on the motorway either.

It will take under 8 seconds to get to 62, which is a bit poor, and the top speed of 124 isn’t the most amazing thing in the world either but the dividends are easily spotted.

The BMW 1 Series GT is rated to manage some 94 miles per gallon and can travel as much as 22 miles on its batteries alone.

Expect more details to come in at the Paris Motor Show towards the end of the month.

There’s little doubt that the BMW – Zagato deal is one of the few collaborations BMW got to recently that isn’t all about the dreary figures and business.

The stunningly designed coupe just looks right and most of us would kill to have one in their drive. Those who aren’t on this camp have just one moan about it.

It’s a coupe and it’s pretty much a one off so there’s none of that open car thrill about it. Well, those voices are now to be silenced.

That’s because the Bavarians came to some sort of important event in the United States last weekend happening at Pebble Beach with a special car.

Having been named the BMW Zagato Roadster, there’s not too much room for surprises. The chosen title would’ve done the same thing, probably.

Either way, the car makes no excuses about what it is. The most important bit of the equation is the fact that the roof can now be folded away.

Actually, we’re not sure about that since we’ve yet to see it in action or with the roof up at all. Do people really care?

If the coupe is the sort of car that made people become hitmen just to have a chance at owning one, the roadster is going to push people into the territory of political assassination.

Sure, some critical world leaders may die and world peace could be compromised but at least you have a shot at a BMW Zagato Roadster to drive when it all falls to pieces.

It seems that BMW like going on two wheels these days as after they unveiled the HP4 superbike, they’ve just announced this in London.

The Olympic games committee had their hands full these days but as a sponsor, BMW’s time was pretty open so they went on to release the C Electric Scooter Prototype.

There’s actually a bit of a chance for this vehicle since there doesn’t actually appear to be anything wrong with it.

It’s a scooter, it’s used mainly in towns and driven slowly through traffic. It’s also an embarrassing vehicle so there’s no problem with it being electric.

Plus, the fact that it’s clean, quiet and pretty robotic and high tech looking is certainly going to help the whole project.

Most performance figures are seriously close to what a gas powered scooter usually manages. The top speed is electronically limited at 75 mph.

Even though the C Electric Scooter constantly develops 15 horsepower and can hit a peak output of 47 ponies, in terms of acceleration it’s said to be quite the zippy performance.

As always, there’s the elephant in the closet of the range issue. Still, at 62 miles it should be fine for a small scooter.

We’re not yet aware of the way the BMW C Electric Scooter Prototype is supposed to be charged or how long it would take but overall the offer doesn’t seem too bad.

Hopefully the price of the BMW C Electric Scooter Prototype won’t cost enormously much and it could end up being quite the interesting product.
