We can all agree that if you really want the best from a BMW model, it’s best that you grab the variant modified by the M Division.

BMW’s M cars have made quite a name for themselves, and for good reason, as the next video clip will demonstrate.

Being one of the first customers to receive the brand new F80 BMW M3, the owner of the beast presented in the video below shows us exactly what it can do when properly put through its paces. With the launch control activated, the owner steps on it up until he reaches 276 km/h before braking.

I have to say, it does reach that speed awfully fast thanks to the 3.0 liter twin turbo engine under the hood. The sound, a quite satisfying one at that, is actually being enhanced and played through the car’s audio system. Not many cars have such a feature, and while it will never be the same as a natural growl of a big engine, it does offer a decent soundtrack.

The new BMW M3, the F80, has finally hit the streets, and one of the very first owners is an active member of bimmerpost.

Basically, that means that we already have a lot of coverage concerning the M3, plus pictures and videos, courtesy of the user/owner.

First off, we should mention that this particular F80 BMW M3 has everything on it, and I mean all the trims and pieces, as the owner went all out on it. It sports an Alpine White paint job and the interior was done in Sakhir Orange. He did make on sacrifice to get it though.

In order to grab this full spec F80 BMW M3, the owner turned in his F13 BMW M6, but from the looks of it, he does not regret it at all. It drives like a charm, is provides plenty of torque for that adrenaline-infused acceleration, and it offers a smooth rider overall. At least that is the impression it left on him. For us, we have just the photo gallery and videos he provided, so enjoy.

With the schism of the 3 Series into two separate models, and thus the M3 and M4, thing are expected to drift apart. All understandable, as both BMW and buyers like to know they the Coupe is just not the same as the sedan.

But while the exterior appearance will bring smiles on everyone’s faces, under the hood things won’t differ that much.

Mostly the same engine line-up will be used on both the M3 and the M4, and for a taste of things to come, BMW released the sound of the new S55 six cylinder unit. While just a small teaser, it does sound quite nice, but when the BMW M3/M4 will have had time to get on the hands of tuners, the sounds will just improve.

The S55 is a straight six cylinder will be displacing 3.0 liters and is expected to bring power to the Bimmers in the vicinity of 450 Hp and 550 Nm of torque. That is enough to propell both the M3 and M4 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Exact details on the power of the new generation BMW M3 and M4 will surface soon. Some more details have been shed on the 2014 BMW M3 thanks to leaked information.

As always, the M3 will be powerful and fast around the corners, while also preserving the cool look we have grown accustomed to.

According to the source, the 2014 BMW M3 will sport under the hood a six cylinder, 3.0 liter twin turbo engine that will be able to churn out some 450 Hp and 550 Nm of torque. Coupled with either a six speed or seven speed dual clutch gear box, the M3 will be able to achieve 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

These numbers are provided not only by the engine, but also by the fact that BMW uses carbon fiber to keep the weight down. The German car maker thinks that technology has gotten to the point where carbon fiber can be manufactured cheaply enough to make its use more feasible. For the 2014 BMW M3, the lightweight material will be used in the vehicle’s roof, hood and trunk, bringing the weight down 100 kg compared to the last generation.
